Bang to the last Ice Age by
watching films of volcanoes
exploding and meet our mammoth.
See real meteorites, a piece of moon rock, spectacular fossils, impressive dinosaur skeletons and footprints.
Go on an expedition in the natural history galleries. Enjoy the cliff top scene based on Skomer Island, Pembrokeshire, one of the most important seabird colonies in north-west Europe. Our Welsh woodland scene is full of foxes, badgers, flowers and ferns all nestling under a giant oak tree. Marvel at the enormous Basking Shark, the impressive Humpback Whale skeleton and the largest Leatherback Turtle ever recorded in the world, all found around the Welsh coastline.
You see will one of the best art collections in the world with paintings by artists that include the French Impressionists and Welsh artists!

Quentin Blake: Inside Stories Best known for his illustrations of Roald Dahl stories, Quentin Blake has also worked on other books to bring their characters to life.
Get a special insight into how he does this in our new exhibition on loan from House of Illustration. Co-curated by Quentin Blake and Claudia Zeff and part of Roald Dahl 100 celebrations.
