Private and Semi-Private LessonsAvailable for ages 2+, in a one-on-one setting to work on a specific skill or stroke, and have flexible class times. Lessons are 30 minutes in length. Semi-private lessons are for two to three participants at the same skill level who would like to have a smaller setting than group lessons (you must register with another participant – the Y does not match up participants).

Stroke ClinicsStoke Clinics are specialty clinics designed to meet a specific stroke or skill masterly. For example some of the stroke clinics the Y offers are Strokes, Turns, Starts, etc. Professional Y Coaches or Swim Instructors work with you on your one or all of these strokes - freestyle, back, breast, and butterfly strokes. Broward County leads the nation in accidental drowning deaths among children under 4, and Miami-Dade is second. Drowning Prevention is a priority for the YMCA in South Florida. Each year the YMCA educates parents and the community on the risks of drowning and need for drowning prevention measures like water safety and swim lessons. Plus, we provide free swim lessons to hundreds of children to make them safer in, on and around the water.
