Join us for our 4th annual Foglia Day Camp Luau! There will be food, games, prizes, moon bounces, and more! This is a great opportunity to meet the camp director and some of the camp staff that will be involved with camp this summer. In addition families will get to see the campgrounds and facilities that our campers will get to enjoy throughout the summer.

The Luau will be held, weather permitting, outside under the large metal camp pavilion.

CAMP INFORMATION

REGISTRATION DATES Registration begins Monday, Feb 1, 2016 and is ongoing throughout the summer. Campers must be registered by the Wednesday of the week before they plan on attending camp.

SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION All campers must hold a valid YMCA membership to receive the member rate and must remain valid until Sep 1, 2016.• To ensure space is reserved for your camper,

a $25 nonrefundable deposit is due for each week of day camp registered.

• Specialty Camps must be paid in full at time of registration.

• Payment is due by Wednesday the week prior to your child attending camp.

• Any registrations made after that Wednesday will be charged a $15 late fee per child.

• Please register with payment at the Member Service Desk.

• Your child's enrollment papers, medical health forms and releases must be submitted in their entirety the Wednesday before your child's first day of camp.

• If your child's paperwork is not in, they will not be able to attend camp. Please note this is for your child's safety and well-being.

• To switch or transfer camps after the Wednesday of the week prior to camp, there will be a $15 switching fee to maintain staff/camper ratios.

• Refunds for day camp and specialty camps are only made if your child is ill and has a doctor's note to accompany the request or you make the change before the Wednesday prior to the week of camp attending. We keep the $25 deposit and will refund the rest.

TRAINED STAFF Professionally trained and enthusiastic staff are the key ingredient to a positive camping experience at the Foglia YMCA. Each counselor is selected based on their skills, maturity, creativity and sensitivity to the needs of all our camp participants. All of our counselors participate in a thorough training program prior to the first camper's arrival, so you can rest assured your child's counselor will be a caring, positive, and enthusiastic role model.

ILLINOIS ACTION FOR CHILDREN FUNDING Forms Available at our member service desk along with local offices. Action for Children (AFC) is a child-care financial assistance program provided by the Illinois Department of Human Services for low-income, working families. If you are a new applicant, you are required to meet with a designated YMCA staff member before registering for camp. You may pick up applications, re-determination forms and change-of-provider forms at the YMCA. DHS Child care subsidy can take up to two months to give approval; you must plan accordingly in order to have approval before the first week of camp. Please turn all paperwork in by March 1, 2016 in order to have approval.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE It is the goal of the YMCA to provide education, social and physical development services to people regardless of their ability to pay. Waiver or reduction of fees is available, subject to facility and program capacity and demonstrated need, without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, physical or mental handicap. Scholarship applications will be accepted through Apr. 15 and will be reviewed after that date.

Due to our limited YMCA scholarship money, we require all families in need of financial assistance to first request funding from Action for Children (AFC). If a family is denied AFC funding, they are then able to apply for the financial assistance scholarship that the YMCA offers. Applications are available at the YMCA and online. Applicants are required to bring AFC denial letter and submit it with scholarship application or they will not be considered for the financial assistance program.

DROP OFF/PICK UP PROCEDURES Parents are required to sign their child in and out of camp. For your convenience, we will once again offer "curb side" arrival so that parents do not have to leave the car for drop off. For pick up, everyone must park and go to the sign out table and present a photo ID. Anyone picking up your child must be listed on the 'Authorized to pick up my child' section of the registration form. If an individual does not have a Photo ID and is not listed as an authorized pick up, we will not be able to release the child. This procedure will be strictly enforced and is for your child's protection.

INSURANCE The Foglia YMCA does not carry individual camper insurance. It is the responsibility of the campers and his or her family to provide insurance.

BILLING If you sign up for automatic draft you will not receive an invoice unless requested. If you sign up for multiple weeks and do not do automatic draft, you will receive an invoice for the session(s) you are registered for. Payment is due on the Wednesday before your child is to attend camp. Your child will not be able to attend camp if payment is not received. Specialty Camps must be paid in full upon registration.

TRADITIONAL SUMMER DAY CAMPS Summer Day Camp is a super-lively, full-day enrichment program focused on quality, age-appropriate activities, safety, and fun! Campers will experience new discoveries, develop new skills, and make new friends along the way. Kids stay motivated and are encouraged to make good choices by exercising independent thinking.

Each week is packed with an amazing variety of activities including field trips, visits to local forest preserves, swimming, creating crafts, exploring through science and nature activities, participating in healthy activities and presentations, and much more!

Creating an enjoyable first camp experience is what we are all about. Campers will be outside for playground time, camp games and songs, and will move inside for a delicious snack, creative craft, and good books.

Drop off and pick up for this camp is inside the Y. This camp takes place both indoors and outdoors, so please dress your child accordingly. If you sign up for the full day option, send your child with a swim suit. The afternoon session will include swimming. Also, please send your child with a lunch as a mid-morning snack will be provided daily. Remember to dress for mess - we will get dirty!

Children in both camps will enjoy recreational swimming in our pool and may participate in additional water activities outdoors. Back by popular demand Teen Camp will again be enjoying two field trips a week throughout the entire summer! Past field trip locations include Schaumburg Boomers Game, America's Action Territory, Laser Tag, Roller Rink, Bowling, the movies, and many more. There is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy! Please check back later as the summer gets closer for exact field trip locations and dates. Twice a week teen camp is able to use the fitness center and can participate in a fitness challenge. Each week we try and focus on a different service project such as visiting the Ela Community Center, fund raising for a local charity, or making blankets for the local animal shelter. Teen campers need to bring a lunch each day and will swim each day.

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING Grades: Entering 9-10 in fall 2016 Camp Hours: 9am-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA Outdoor Pavilion

The Counselor in Training program is a great chance for teens entering High School to experience a little bit of what it is like to be a summer camp counselor. While here at camp CITs will be responsible for helping out the counselors with day to day activities; responsibilities include but are not limited to helping set up games, participating in games, crafts, swimming, and other camp activities.

CITs will also have the opportunity to split off from camp activities once a week to talk about different leadership skills and traits. This year CITs will have the chance to go on some off-site field trips with the camps they are helping to supervise.

Our CITs must possess a good attitude and be a positive role model for our young campers. Participants must bring their lunch. CIT's will receive a snack in the afternoon and should also bring their swimsuit daily.

TRADITIONAL CAMP FIELD TRIPS Again this summer Adventure and Explorer Campers who attend all 5 days of camp will be going on a weekly field trip. Please check back closer to the start of camp with specific locations, date and times of the field trips. If your camper is not attending all 5 days of camp but will be attending camp on the field trip day, you can add the field trip for $25. This payment can be made at our member service desk.

FRIDAY LUNCHES We will have special Friday lunches each month of camp for all our traditional camps. If your camper does not like what is offered they need to bring a lunch from home. Friday lunches will be offered June 24th, July 22nd and August 12th. Keep a look out in our weekly newsletter for updates on what is being served.

Foglia YMCA has offered before and after care to students grades K-6 in District 95/St. Francis de Sales for over a decade now. Before Care is located at Isaac Fox Elementary and May Whitney Elementary from 6:45-8:15am. Students will be bused to their schools prior to the start of the school day. What better way to spend the afternoon than to learn the great American past time ... Baseball. Kids will learn all the basic skills to ready them for upcoming leagues, including catching, base running, throwing and batting. Don't forget your gym shoes and water bottles.

Join us for more fishing down by the pier, waterhole, and right in our own backyard! (Catch and release, of course). Tell your family you've gone fishin'. Participants will learn the basics of fishing and reeling as well as the standard procedure for catch and release.

SURVIVING SIX FLAGS Dates: Jun 13-17 Ages: 10-14 Camp Hours: 9am-4pm* Location: Foglia YMCA

This camp is for the thrill seeker, adrenaline junkie, and enjoys a water ride or two! We will be visiting Six Flags Great America everyday for the entire week! Some days will be dedicated to the theme park portion of Six Flags while others we will be at Hurricane Harbor. Each participant in this camp will receive a season pass to use for the week and will be theirs to keep after the camp is over!

If you love animals and are always wanting to learn more about how to care for them, then come check out one of most popular specialty camps. Every day we will go either to a shelter, zoo, or pet store and not only learn about animals and help out, but also see behind the scenes on how to best take care of them, and learn exactly what it takes to be a pet owner. Shelters will deal mostly with dogs and cats, but we will also be able to see and learn about reptiles, fish, and other fun and friendly creatures. Sign up today!

HOT SHOTS SOCCER Dates: Jun 27-Jul 1 & Aug 8-12 Ages: 3-5 Camp Hours: 12:30-1:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This is a great camp for those who have learned a bit about soccer as well as those whom have never kicked a ball. Children will learn soccer skills through drills, games and scrimmaging. Be sure to send your child with gym shoes and a water bottle.


GOLF Dates: Jun 27-Jul 1 Ages: 9-14 Camp Hours: 9am-12pm Location: YMCA and Offsite

This camp is for those kids that want to learn the game of golf, and become the next Rory McIlroy or Jordan Speith. We will learn the basics of the game, the rules, and fundamentals the first day of camp, and then work on our game at the driving range a couple days, then putting all together for a final round on Thursday and/or Friday. Come tee off with our popular golf camp.

Water Adventures Camp is once again a combination of several successful camps we've had in the past. We will learn several water games, hop off the diving board, and swim past anything that comes near us. Bring your mask and fins, and we'll teach you how to dive to the depths in search of treasures, clear your mask while underwater, and finally be able to use those snorkels and fins on vacation instead of staying on the shore.

Water Park Camp is back and better than ever! Now an all day camp so you have more time to enjoy the fun in the sun! Kids, come join us and have fun with your friends all day and, parents, take a break and let our trained aquatic and child care staff watch and make sure your children are having fun. Does your little guy or gal jump around the furniture at the house? Do they like climbing things to the top? Then have them challenge themselves on our 25-foot rock wall! Whether your child makes it to the top or climbs half way, we will make sure your child learns how to climb and get that inner strength needed to accomplish each route! Join us in the ever-popular sport that is bowling. Learn the proper techniques and skills or just come for a good time. This camp is for all ages and ability levels and right up your alley. It's the game that allows you to eat food, have a good time, and compete against friends. Bring a friend or 10 and let the 'good times roll'!

ROCKWALL CLIMBING Dates: Jul 5-8 (No Camp Monday, July 4th) Ages: 6-14 Camp Hours: 2-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Some things are just meant to be climbed. Join our Adventure staff and learn the techniques of rock climbing and knot tying or improve already established skills. The confidence when you make it to the top of the wall and knowing what you've just accomplished is terrific. We may even use some of the other adventure obstacles that will really bring you to new heights. This is also a great alternative to more popular sports and activities and a chance to do something you can't do many other places.


WINDY CITY TOUR Dates: Jul 5-8 (No Camp Monday, July 4th) Ages: 10-14 Camp Hours: 9am-4pm* Location: Foglia YMCA

Have you ever wanted to see the great city of Chicago and spend a week visiting all that it has to offer? We will spend an entire week driving and taking the train downtown to see places such as Millennium Park, several museums, and all the best the Windy City has to offer! This camp is for those who love being downtown and learning new things but don't want to fill out worksheets or do homework like field trips at school. Come take a ride and enjoy the city limits!



TUMBLE TIME! Dates: Jul 11-15 Ages: 3-5 Camp Hours: 12:30-1:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Start your youngster off on a lifelong journey of running, jumping and tumbling. We'll get out all of the mats and tumbling apparatus you can handle for a lot of fun. These basic skills are the core of just about every sport. Ensure that your child is starting off right and building on their skills.

DANCE, TUMBLE AND CHEER Dates: Jul 11-Jul 15 Ages: 6-9 Times: 10:30am-12pm

Location: Foglia YMCA

Do you like to dance, tumble over the couch and do flips around the house? Are you ready to become a school cheerleader? Then come to this camp where you will learn some basic dance and tumbling moves, putting it all together to practice a full routine. CHEER!


BUILD-A-FLOAT Dates: Jul 11-15 Ages: 9-14 Times: 1-3:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This camp will create a float that will be built at the Foglia YMCA, and the kids will design the theme. Then with the help of the counselors, they will put it together and display their float in the Alpine Days parade in Lake Zurich. Come create and build a float for the parade and make new friends too!

Rates: $65 with summer camp, $105 Member/$35 Non-member

SPORTS OF ALL SORTS Dates: Jul 11-15 Ages: 9-14 Camp Hours: 9am-4pm* Location: Foglia YMCA

Do you eat, sleep and breathe sports? If you just can't seem to get enough sports action, this camp is for you. Flag football, soccer, softball, basketball, dodge ball, and just about every other sport or variation you can think of will be featured in this camp. We will also have swimming, so bring your bathing suit too. We will probably even go bowling and mini golfing on the Y-bus off site. Remember to bring that sack lunch and water bottle because we'll be having fun all day!

*Children who attend this "full day" camp may attend the Extended Care Program.

SPLISH SPLASH Dates: Jul 18-22 Ages: 3-5 Camp Hours: 12:30-1:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

There's nothing better than getting in the water on a hot summer day! Make sure your child is comfortable in the water and even learn some water safety skills. Bring your suit, your towel, goggles and your smile!


LEGO MANIA Dates: Jul 18-22 Ages: 6-10 Times: 10am-12pm Location: Foglia YMCA

The kids will get to pick out a few lego sets at the store the first day of camp, and will spend the week working on finishing building together. We will visit the Lego store as well to take a tour of the facility. Come join us for the building of a lifetime.

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD TRAINING Dates: Jul 18-22 Ages: 11-14 Camp Hours: 1-2:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

In this specialty camp participants will go through similar training that our lifeguards go through. They will learn and practice the skills needed to be a lifeguard. If you are someone who loves to swim and is interested in seeing what it takes to be a lifeguard this camp is for you. All participants will receive a certificate of completion upon finishing this camp.


LIL SPORTS GALORE Dates: Jul 25-29 Ages: 3-5 Camp Hours: 12:30-1:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This class is for those kids that love playing all the sports, and can't pick just one. We will play a different sport every day throughout the week and teach each of the kids the basic fundamentals of some of the most popular sports like soccer, basketball, t-ball, floor hockey, and more. Come out and enjoy all the sports and have balls of fun!


BOYS WILL BE BOYS Dates: Jul 25-29 Ages: 7-12 Camp Hours: 10am-1pm Location: Foglia YMCA

We guys are very simple in life. We enjoy our sports, our games, and we don't want to waste time with crafts or singing songs and holding hands. Back again for another summer, join us for laser tag, batting cages, mini-golf, bowling, and a ton more in this jam-packed week-long camp. DARLIN' DIVAS Dates: Jul 25-29 Ages: 6-11 Camp Hours: 2-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Boys may be boys, but girls just wanna have fun. For us girls that want to embrace our feminine side and learn about hair, manicures, and caring for our skin. It's like having our very own spa right here at the Foglia YMCA. We will be promoting health of body, mind, and spirit! Participants in the camp will get to participate in Foglia's Got Talent, our annual Day Camp talent show!

Location: Meet at Foglia YMCA

This camp is always jam-packed so register early. Tennis camp will help you improve your technique, prepare you for tennis matches in the future or simply allow you to have a better understanding of the sport and help you have fun with a pick-up game. Having fun, learning and improving skills are all emphasized for a positive tennis experience. We will use the Hawthorn Woods Community Park Courts and bus to and from.


AMERICAN RED CROSS BABYSITTING Dates: Aug 1-5 Ages: 11-16 Camp Hours: 1-3pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Are you constantly being asked to babysit or watch your younger siblings when your parents are gone? This camp is for anyone who is looking to make some money during the summer or school year babysitting. We will provide you with the necessary skills needed to give safe care for infants and children while babysitting including handling misbehavior, recognizing an emergency, and identifying safety related problems and resolution.


FIELD TRIP FUN Dates: Aug 1-5 Ages: 9-14 Camp Hours: 9-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This camp is exactly what it sounds like. We will be going on field trips everyday to various locations in the area. Previous field trip locations have included mini golf, chocolate factory, Pizza place, ice cream making, etc. If you are tired of sitting at home and doing the same old stuff everyday this is the camp for you!

Soccer stars who like running around and kicking a ball in the net will love our Soccer Camp. To prepare you for the fall season or to help you improve your skills, our staff is ready to show you proper techniques of passing, shooting, headers and, as always, the importance of sportsmanship and hustle.


TRX BOOTCAMP Dates: Aug 8-12 Ages: 10-14 Times: 1-2pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This class takes your workout to a new level utilizing the TRX suspension trainer along with additional tools/equipment to build total body strength and cardiovascular endurance while increasing flexibility and challenging your core all at the same time. Class specially designed for teens to help them achieve the strength needed to maximize their athletic ability. Led by certified trainers.

LACROSSE CAMP Dates: Aug 15-19 Ages: 8-14 Camp Hours: 9:30-11:30am Location: Foglia YMCA

Back due to popular demand we have the sport that is quickly becoming a fan favorite; lacrosse. Participants will once again be coached by current and former Lake Zurich and College Lacrosse players. The rules and fundamentals will be taught followed by more advanced skills, positioning and simulated game play. Equipment is available if needed, but bring your own if you have one, as well as a mouth guard and plenty of energy. See you on the fields!


MINI-GOLF Dates: Aug 15-19 Ages: 6-12 Camp Hours: 1-4pm Location: Meet at Foglia YMCA

You asked for it, and now it's back again and better than ever. You drive past them and they're always packed: it's mini-golf. With hundreds and hundreds of courses across America, we'll take 5 days to dedicate ourselves to various locations in the area. Sign up early and try not to let that crazy windmill get ya.


DELICIOUS DELIGHTS Dates: Aug 15-19 Ages: 7-12 Camp Hours: 2-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA

There has never been a better time to eat well and feel great! This revamped camp will show participants how to cook simple, delicious healthy snacks and meals that you can easily cook at home! We will use a griddle, toaster oven, blender, and other small household food makers that are simple to use. FUN & ADVENTURE START HERELooking for an overnight, resident camp experience for your child or your family this summer? The YMCA of Metro Chicago has five resident camp options in beautiful pristine areas sure to provide special memories to last a lifetime.

YMCA Camp DuncanSince 1921, Camp Duncan has provided safe, quality camping programs for boys and girls ages 7 to 15 and Teen Adventure Camps for 15 to 17 year olds. All activities are geared to the developmental level of the campers. Camp Duncan is a co-ed, summer resident camp located near Fox Lake, Illinois, on 300 acres.

YMCA Camp MacLeanCamp MacLean is located just two miles east of Burlington, Wisconsin, just 20 minutes from Lake Geneva, on 247 acres of woods and grassland property. The camp offers fun and challenging activities such as swimming, climbing, boating, kayaking, archery, hiking, and much more. We also leave room for plenty of traditional programs, including sing-alongs, campfires and campouts.

YMCA Camp PinewoodTraditional but up-to-date, Camp Pinewood features 16 cabins on a private, spring-fed lake, with every activity from sailing to horseback riding. The camp is nestled in the heart of the Manistee National Forest near Muskegon, Michigan. YMCA Family Camp NawakwaFamily Camp Nawakwa offers a unique experience- an opportunity to bring together whole families, not just children, through camping. The camp sits on 180 acres of pristine forest lands, and includes wetlands and lakes with abundant wildlife. The camp is nestled in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin, which is home to the Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.

YMCA Camp IndependenceCamp Independence is a special place for campers age seven and up with spina bifida. At camp, kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group. We teach self-reliance, a love for nature, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character.
