Youth Field Trips!Area non-profit youth groups are encouraged to participate in DAAC’s Experience: ART field trips to the CHINA exhibit. For ages 7 and up, the experience includes a “treasure hunt” of art elements to be found within the exhibit and a hands-on activity creating a traditional Chinese craft. Contact Sue Powell at 217-423-3189 to arrange a field trip.

In China, artistry embodies in all as-pects of life. Inspired by a long and rich history, Chinese art includes symbols and motifs that tell a story about the

culture. Colors, animals, fruits, flowers, mythical creatures take on special meanings and appear in scrolls, jade carvings, lacquerware, tea ware, clothing and textiles, and furniture.

Chinese Art Workshop (Bring Lunch) Look at the Chinese exhibit in the Gallery and then go up to the studio to create Chinese paper cuts, handmade Chinese but-tons, clay stamps, and create natural pigment for stamping. This workshop involves paper, fabric, natural dye and clay.
