DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY Digital photography is a class for students interested in hands -on photography using digital cameras and computers. Students will have an introduction to elements of art and principles of design. This course will familiarize the student with digital photographic equipment, materials, and methods through theory and hands on practice. Students will learn the history of photography, studying and emulating a variety of photographic styles. Student will create a portfolio of original compositions. COSMETOLOGY This 1600 hour course prepares individuals to perform hair styles, cutting, chemical services (i.e., bleaching, color, perms, and relaxers), facial care, nail care, makeup, health and safety for clients, and disinfection/sanitation for real world working skills. WHAT IS COMMUNITY CLASSROOM?

Community Classroom is unpaid training at a job site. Training usually takes place during your class hours. It is your responsibility to secure transportation to and from the site. Student must be at least 16 years old.

HOW DO I ENROLL?

Register with your Career Technician on your High School Campus or call 909-980-6490. (NOTE: You must attend class on the first day or you may be dropped.)

IS THERE A FEE FOR ROP CLASSES?

As of July 1, 2015, BVROP is no longer direct-funded by the State of California. BVROP is now funded by

our member districts, as a service provider supporting their local control accountability plans (LCAPs).

Our agreement with our member districts for these funds provides that ROP/CTE services are reserved for

students attending high schools, continuation high schools, and alternative high schools belonging to

Chaffey JUHSD, Chino Valley USD, Claremont USD, and Upland USD.

All other grade 9-12 students or school entities may access BVROP services by contacting

Dr. Forest DeRenzo, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services ([email protected]) to

obtain the fee-for-service costs and registration protocol.

CAN I ENROLL IN MORE THAN ONE COURSE?

Yes. You can enroll in multiple courses as long as the class schedules do not conflict.

WILL I RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE?

Yes. You must earn a “C” or better at completion of your ROP class to receive a certificate.

CAN I RECEIVE COLLEGE CREDIT?

Yes. Several classes have articulation agreements with our neighboring community colleges. Most

courses require a score of at least 80% on the final and/or articulation exam, a final course grade of “B” or

higher, and enrollment with the community college upon high school graduation. Please consult with the

teacher for specific steps and grading criteria.

IS THERE AN AGE REQUIREMENT?

Some classes have an age requirement. Courses which have requirements and/or prerequisites can be

found at the conclusion of each course description.

CAN MY STUDENT ATTEND CLASS AT A DIFFERENT DISTRICT OR CAMPUS?

Student must receive prior approval from the Administrator of the campus where the class is being offered.
