PROPERTY, LOCATION, AND ACCESS
The claim is located within the Saulte Ste. Marie Mining Division. Figure l details
the approximate location. Claim No. 1203798, a three unit claim, is located in north-west
Stover township, approximately 7 kilometres north-east of Missanabai. Access is by Hwy
65 1 north from Hwy 101 to the town Missanabai, thence east along the Renabai Mine road to
the west part of Stover Township. As the claim group is located south of the road, access is
by bush trail from there on in. The claim was staked on March 7, 1995, is in good standing,
and is owned 10007o by William Kerr.
Figures 1 and 2 detail the general and specific locations of the property, respectively,
while Figure 5, comprising a copy of the current claim map, displays the position of the
claim on that map.
PREVIOUS WORK
The Stover Township claim, 1203798, was briefly prospected during the early 1940's. where
it was reported that, OGS 1979, MDC 18, P 85, "Several thousand dollars worth of gold was
reportedly panned from the showing by the discoverer." This was from what is now
referred to as the Road Showing. Also reported are results of surface sampling on another
showing 1350 feet east along strike, (hereinafter referred to as the Stream Showing) which,
from ODM1942, Vol. 51, pt 8, p 35-39, (Pileggi Prospecting syndicate) includes 0.95 opt
over 28 inches and 2.67 opt over 30 inches. The weighted average grade of an 80 foot
section, according to the aforementioned report, was 0.66 opt Au over a 2,8 feet width.
Stover Gold Mines in the late 1940's conducted work in the area, but no work was reported
on the subject claims according to the ERLIS files, although evidence of old drill sites, circa
1940's, was observed while working in the area. Erie Canadian conducted a surface
stripping operation at some point in the 1940's, but no detailed work has been reported for
the West claim group. Tn the mid 1980's Conquest Yellowknife Mines Limited held the
group, but again, no work has been reported. One fairly recent hole was drilled under the
Stream Showing, the collar having been located in the fall, but records pertaining to this
hole were not found in the assessment records.
GEOLOGY
The claim is located with the Superior Province of the Canadian Shield. Typical
"greenstones" tending to thoeliitic composition were observed during the brief
reconnaissance. Some evidence of pillow selvages was found, which would not be
untoward in this terrain. Thin lenses of oxide facies iron formation were noted-whether
these may be used as markers still remains to be seen. The Stream Showing is
associated with a strong brittle fracture in the massive andesites, and is associated with
up to 5 07o pyrite proximal to the vein proper. The showing dips approximately 60 degrees
south with a 070 degree strike direction. The road showing, apparently along the same
zone but one quarter mile to the west, is covered under overburden and was not stripped
but appears to be a pocket of smoky gray quartz associated with the same shear.
WORK DONE
W. Kerr spent eight days on the property from September 17 through 24. A camp
was set up on the road at the intersection with the stream that bisects the property. The
initial focus was to locate the old trenches. The base map used for the location of the
trenches was ODM Map 2380.
Three days were spent prospecting and locating the high grade showing located
on the east shore of Stover Creek. Tt was found that the showing was essentially a steeply
south dipping sugary quartz mylonitic zone up to 75 cms in width in mafic volcanics. A
number of samples were collected on site, and crushed and panned. In this manner it was
determined that the eastern margin of the original trenches were in fact lower grade, with
only sporadic samples returning evidence of gold mineralization. Although the western
limit of the showing was under overburden in the trenches, a boulder from the
mineralized zone returned enough coarse gold that a multi-ounce assay would be
expected. Several test pits were attempted with shovel to get to the bottom of the trench,
which had slumped since the 1940's, but bottom was not reached. A decision was made
to strip this western portion by means of a Wajax pump, as the topography would
facilitate this method..
Two and one half days were spent prospecting the original showing located near the road.
This is composed of a series of hand stripped trenches on the crest of the hill. As the
most recent work, other than the occasional grab sample, dates from the 1940's, all the
trenches had caved
One and one half days were spent clearing a trail from the road to the trenches for the
contractor to bring in his equipment - this included some chain saw work on the south
side of the creek
Following this initial reconnaissance phase of the programme, a contractor was hired to
strip and sample the Stream Showing where abundant visible gold was noted in a boulder
in the wall of the trench. The work was carried out in October. The showing was
washed, and two channel sample were taken from the bottom of the trench by the
contractor with rock saws. He also took one grab sample.
W Kerr returned to the property from November 8 to the l Uh, and collected a further 20
samples. A total of 15 samples were taken from the stream showing . Six samples were
taken from the area of the original high grade trench at the road showing. The locations
of all these samples are depicted on Figures 3 and 4.

lRESULTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The purpose of the programme was to locate and verify the results of the
sampling in the 1940's, and for the most part his has been accomplished. The West zone
of the Pileggi Prospecting Syndicate (Stream Showing) was relocated, stripped, and
sampled by a combination of crushing/panning, channels, chips, and grabs. The original
showing (Road Showing) was located, and sampled.
i' The results confirm that this property contains some very high grade assays, on occasion
multi-ounce, and definitely warrants further work. As almost the entire strike length of
the mineralized system, if continuous, is within 1300 feet of the stream, and there is
minimal overburden on this property, Wajax stripping is an extremely efficient and cost
effective way to explore this claim and will be the next step.
