Summary of Jesus Words and Examples

William J.D. Shaw updated: Nov 15, 2021

This document is a major or key study, one that tells us how we are to go forward, what we

are to do in order to become one of God’s children. How you read this document will determine

what you are able to put in your mind and heart and more importantly the understanding that goes

directly into your spirit. This document must be read slowly over a long period of time, with

reflection upon each of the things Jesus tells us. The scriptures in this document, is the only guide

we really need in order to go forward and grow as God wishes us to grow.

The new testament is full of examples of how Jesus lived, what He did and how we are to

follow and to try and emulate His way through life, His steps and directives that He gave to us. If

you doubt that we are to try and follow His examples read the following, which are only a very few

that tell us to follow Him;

1Pe 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Joh 13:15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

1Jn 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

The organization in this study of what Jesus told us to do or examples He left for us to follow

Him are given in order of starting in Matthew progressively going through to the Book of

Revelations. They are taken only from the words and actions of Jesus. The sayings include most of

the parables that Jesus taught, those having a clear example for us to follow.

2

We are told to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, in the examples He gave to us, in the

directives He left for us. Note that various pastors each have a different interpretation of what

Jesus nailed to the cross. This can be very confusing and even very deceptive, since what is nailed

to the cross is only our sin but also the oral laws of the Sanhedrin. The written Laws of God as

given to Moses were not nailed to the cross. Rather than becoming confused with what others

interpret that was nailed to the cross or making a wrong interpretation, or speculating, we can just

follow the examples and directives that Jesus gave to us, by doing this one cannot go wrong.

However to do this you cannot ignore what you do not like, it is not a pick and chose, rather it is a

complete and conclusive set of instructions and directions that we are to follow in order to grow

and become righteous as God wishes us to become. Keep in mind that what the Word of God tells

us, is always rational and logical, it is true and does not change. If we are not certain on something

we are told, then we need to prove it to our self using God’s word.

1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Recognize at the time that Jesus walked the world in the flesh, only the Old Testament was

in existence. Also recognize that Jesus was the Word and Rock of the Old Testament, the one that

gave the laws (Torah) and interacted with the people throughout the Old Testament books. He was

the mediator for the Father in dealing with mankind. When you understand this you can recognize

there is one Bible, the Old and New testaments together. There is one book, and it all applies today

as it did when originally given. In the New Testament He came to the Jews first and foremost, this

means they knew the laws and commandments, they knew about idols and taking God’s name in

vain, they knew the laws of the Sabbath and the Holy Days, and they knew the food laws. Jesus did

not need to tell the Jews to keep the laws, He only needed to instruct them as to how to keep the

laws, by their intent and not legalistically. Later Jesus instructed his disciples to go to the Gentiles,

they needed to be instructed in all of God’s ways. All that Jesus said relates back to the Old

Testament. Understand that in the New Testament what Jesus tells us comes directly from the

Father.

The following are a summary of the steps we are to follow with an interpretation according

to today’s times: The Words of Jesus are many, there are lots of directives left for us to follow. We

must read them carefully, one at a time and reflect on what each one is telling us to do, or telling

us how we are to live. We need to read, stop and reflect on each of the Words Jesus spoke for our

benefit. This means that the time spent going through this study will be considerable and needs to

be done over a long period of time, it cannot be hurried, it needs time to grow within you. Taking

Jesus on means following, doing what He told us and what He showed us by His example. It means

following and obeying Jesus. It is not a pick and choose, it is following in all that is given to us, we

need the Fathers help to do this, we need to pray and ask for help and guidance as we study the

directives from Jesus. All of the above narrative comes directly out of scripture. Do not follow what

man says, use scripture only. Study it and find it and compare everything anyone tells you against

scripture, including the writings of this document. Throw out anything that is not supported by

scripture.

3

As you study and reflect ask yourself what does each verse mean to us today. The

comments following each verse are a guide in meaning to us today.

Book of Matthew

1. Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Deny yourself and take up your cross and follow Jesus – this means no longer be self

centered, but rather do God’s Will no matter where it leads and what difficulties that may arise.

When you take up your cross you go forward and do not compromise, you follow and do your best

as to what Jesus told us and showed us by His example.

2. Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

To be perfect sell all you have, give it to the poor and follow Jesus – this applies to those who

wish to become perfect and special disciples of Jesus, extremely difficult for most of us to do this

fully. However we can normally do this to a large degree by having a proper attitude in our mind

and heart and focus in our life. We need to not be caught up on material possessions and money,

rather to focus on growing as Sons or Daughters of God, building our treasure in heaven, and to

follow Jesus in His Words and actions. It also tells us to give to the poor and less fortunate as best

we can.

3. Mat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Jesus was baptized – as a step in repentance and the putting on a new person, Jesus tells

us to be baptized. This baptism by example from Jesus, is that of total immersion. Never

rationalize the way man thinks it is OK to do things, always follow what is shown to us out of God’s

Holy word.

4. Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by

every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God

4

We are to live by reading and studying the Word of God - our life is to be directed by reading

and studying the Holy Bible, this means continually. We are to live by all the Words of the Holy

Bible, every word, both from the Old and New Testament. We need to follow and do what we learn

from God’s word, it is our guide in going through this current life. We need to do this passionately,

consistently every day, searching for understanding, for truth and having it help us to mature and

grow.

5. Mat 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Do not tempt the Lord - we are not to purposely place ourselves in a situation where it

would tempt God.

6. Mat 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt

worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Worship and serve only God – this is the first commandment, and the key is to love the Lord

our God with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind and to serve and worship Him alone. In our

current life making our way through this world, God the Father is to be the most important thing in

our life, always to be foremost in our mind.

7. Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Repent before the kingdom of Heaven comes to earth - we need to change and become a

new person, walking to serve and please the Lord, to be sorry for our past sins and to go forth as a

new person in obedience to God and his Will, to prepare ourselves for Christ’s coming government

on earth.

8. Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Mat 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be

5

filled.

Mat 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Mat 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Become poor in spirit, mourn, meek, hunger after righteousness, merciful, pure of heart, peacemakers - we will be blessed when we take these things on, as our heart becomes right with

God. A correct attitude and approach act to changes our mind from that of self-centered and

selfish to that of giving and being acceptable to God, we then become the children of God and grow

in the manner that God wants us to grow.

9. Mat 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Mat 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

If we are persecuted for righteousness sake, or for falsely accused of evil for Jesus sake – then

again we are blessed and our reward in Heaven is great. We most likely will be persecuted

because we follow God and not the world. We need to stay true to God and his commandments

and directives and walk the path He sets before us and to do it with a joyful attitude no matter how

difficult it may become.

10. Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Be an example of good works before others in how you live – by walking with Christ we show

the world through our good works who we are, and that others may glorify our Father who is in

heaven.

**11. Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Till heaven and earth pass away the Torah or Law will be in effect – the law or Torah (the first five

books of the Old Testament) will remain in effect until first, heaven and earth pass away and until,

all is fulfilled. That occurs at the last great day, the second resurrection, judgment day, when Jesus

destroys death and the new heavens and earth are created. These words come directly from Jesus

telling us that all the commands found in the first five books of the Old Testament need to be kept

today as best we can. Kept in their intent, not that this action saves us since we are saved by God’s

grace and not by anything we do, rather keeping these commands help us to mature and grow as

6

God’s children and show our love to God and Jesus. They define the narrow path forward that we

are to walk on through our current life. They help us to walk forward in the spirit and not in the

flesh. Walking in the Torah helps us not to sin as sin is defined as breaking any one of the

commands in the Torah that God has given us. Note that the six Christian churches in today’s time

say this no longer applies – they are wrong, this instruction comes to us directly from Jesus. There

is one and only one Christian Church in today’s time that walks in the Torah and it is fairly hidden.

Understand Jesus as the mediator for the Father gave Moses the Torah. We are to hear and obey

Jesus. This scripture given to us from Jesus is one of the most important for today’s time. If you

grow in the LORD properly you will come understand the significance of this instruction.

**12. Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall

teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Breaking the least of any of the commandments in the Torah and teaching others that person will be the

least in the kingdom of heaven – note that this verse is tied to the previous one, by keeping and

teaching all of the commands directed to us from Jesus and the Father as found in the Torah, we

will be called great in heaven. If we break the least of these and teach others the same, we will be

called least in the kingdom of heaven.

13. Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Be righteous in heart and mind - not just in appearance to others, or in self conceit, it does

not count on how well you can quote scripture, it counts on what your heart and mind hold to and

follow. It is the intent of the laws written on our heart and going forward with them that is what is

important.

14. Mat 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

We are not to kill or more accurately murder one another – this was not only an Old

Testament commandment it means that we should not murder, not even in abortions as life has

entered and formed a new person in the womb. When we grow in love for the world, including our

enemies, we cannot murder or even think of murdering someone.

15. Mat 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause

7

shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Be slow to anger, and only with just cause – this is an extension of the commandment of do

not kill showing how easily we sin within our mind by building up hatred towards another, rather

than looking out for our brother’s well being. We need to go forward in this world in love for others

by thought and action.

16. Mat 5:25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

Agree with our adversary quickly - this is an extension of the commandment to love your

enemy as yourself. It is to be taken as respecting and doing the best you can for the well being of

your enemy, even if you are put at a disadvantage. Remember it is not the things of this world that

are important. We need to work on building our treasures in heaven. That means growing in love to

all.

17. Mat 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Do not look at a women and lust after her - again this is an extension of the commandment

of committing adultery, and shows how within our mind and our thoughts we easily fall into sin.

We are to strive to keep the thoughts of our mind and keep a heart pure. This can only be done

with God’s help, by asking for God’s help.

18. Mat 5:31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

Mat 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

Divorce except for fornication is not acceptable - if one divorces without the just cause, it

often results in a number of others committing adultery without even being aware of it. This also

tells us we should be extremely careful of who we marry, because we are required to be with that

person for the rest of our lives. We need to let the Lord pick our mate for us according to His Will

and in his timing.

8

19. Mat 5:33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

Mat 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

Mat 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

Do not swear or take oaths – only say yes or no as more than this will often come of evil.

20. Mat 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

Mat 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Mat 5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

Mat 5:41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

Mat 5:42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

In conflict with others, let them have their way – this again is loving your neighbor or enemy,

do not retaliate but rather let them have their way, or what is best for them whether or not that it is

just to you. Remember the way of the world is not to be your focus, rather the way of God and

heaven is to be our focus. We are to love all people. The attitude within our heart and mind is what

is most important. We need to develop and keep a loving attitude for all adversity that we

experience as we go through life. Vengeance belongs to God, not to man.

21. Mat 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Mat 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

Mat 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Love your enemies – for in doing this, which is very difficult, you gain rewards in Heaven and

in your mind and heart you become more perfect in God’s eyes. You are not to try and get as much

9

as you can in this world, rather you are to prepare for the next world, meaning your heart and mind

must grow in love for all. Recognize as time goes forward even your enemy can repent and be

saved.

22. Mat 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

Mat 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mat 6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

Mat 6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Give to the needy in private – we are to help our brothers in need but only in such a manner

that God sees what we are doing, our reward comes from God, not from others. Giving alms to the

needy is love for others in action.

23. Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Pray in private and pray in your own words and thoughts directly to God – we are coming

before the presence of God when we pray, we are forming a personal relationship with Him, He

knows our heart and our needs even before we ask. The personal relationship we build is a private

one between God and our self. Strive to build this relationship in the manner that king David did.

**24. Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the

10

kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Mat 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

When we pray address specific things of importance – First acknowledge the Father and that

the whole world is His, and everything we have, has been given to us from God. In praying and in

our heart we are to ask for what we need, and ask for protection from evil. We are to forgive others

in order to allow our hearts to grow in love and mature. The manner in which Jesus told us to pray

also tells us that we are to learn to live one day at a time. Jesus tells us that when the kingdom of

God comes to earth, then all people that are living on the earth will need to keep God’s laws,

commandments and do His Will. When we pray we are to look forward to the kingdom of God

coming down to earth, and to prepare ourselfs for it. We are living in the time where very shortly

most all people will need to go through the Tribulation as they did not properly prepare for the

kingdom that will be with us very soon.

25. Mat 6:16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mat 6:17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

Mat 6:18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and

thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

Fast in secret, do not advertize it, let only the Father know – we are told to fast and keep our

appearance so that others do not know we are fasting, only God will know and will reward us. The

reason for fasting is mainly to enhance or amplify our prayers to God. To help us draw nearer to

God. To reinforce that our life depends upon all things we receive from the Father.

26. Mat 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

Mat 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Mat 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Mat 6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon

11

Lay up treasures in heaven - where your treasure is there also is your heart. Make your

mind filled with light, goodness, righteousness, you can only serve one master, make sure it is God

and not money or anything else. Again our focus needs to be not in this life, but rather on the next

life with God. These treasures we lay up in heaven are love and help to others, serving God and

others, promoting peace, growing in meekness and righteousness in all things with correct walking

and growing in God’s way. Testifying to others our love for God and His glory, and being an

example of how God’s chosen people make their way through the world. Being a disciple for Christ

in the best way that we can.

27. Mat 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Mat 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Mat 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

Mat 6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

Mat 6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Mat 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Mat 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

Mat 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Mat 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for

the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Do not be anxious, concerned or worry for your life, focus on gaining the kingdom of God first

and foremost - Trust in God, He takes care of the birds and flowers and you are more precious to

God so He will take care of you also, rather seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Live for the present day, for tomorrow will take care of itself, this means putting your trust in God

and going forward one day at a time. Seeking the Kingdom of God is focusing at becoming

righteous in mind and heart in preparation for life in the coming Kingdom of God. That is the most

important thing you can do in this life.

28. Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

12

Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Mat 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Mat 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Do not judge others - we often have serious flaws ourselves and because of this we should

not judge others, but rather work on removing our flaws. Do not be a hypocrite.

29. Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Do not preach to others in general - we are not to go up and cold call others to come to

God, neither those on the street or going from house to house. Rather He calls those He wants to

come to Him. If someone asks you about the things of God, you are to answer, but you are not to

take the initiative in approaching them by preaching to them in trying to bring them to Christ and to

try to convert them. We need to recognize the opportunities that present themselves to us, then to

let others know of our love for Christ. It is by our example in how others see the way we live that it

will encourage them to come to Christ as well.

30. Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Mat 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Mat 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

Mat 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

Mat 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Ask God to help you - Ask, seek, knock, when you need help ask God and He will help and

give good things to those who ask Him. If you are seeking God, He will help you find peace within

yourself.

31. Mat 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

13

Do to others as you would have them do to you - treat others in the same manner that you

would like them to treat you.

**32. Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The road to salvation is narrow - Note that the path to salvation is straight and narrow and

few find it. This means be very careful how you build your relationship with God, it needs to be your

main focus and must be done in a manner that pleases God and in the manner that He requires.

That means total obedience to God, following his commandments, ordinances and statues, letting

His Holy Word guide you. Growing in love for God and others, growing in righteousness with God’s

help. You cannot do this in your way, rather it must be done in God’s Way and with His help. The

Holy Word tells you what is God’s Way. Do not try to justify what you do in order to please God,

rather follow what He has told us to do.

33. Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Beware of false prophets - false leaders will come dressed as sheep, but are really wolves.

You will know them by their works. By what they accomplish for God, what they value, how they

respond towards others that are in need of help. Always check, what they teach and what they do,

against what the Holy Bible tells us to do.

**34. Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity

14

Only those that do the Will of God does Jesus know and are saved - those that do not obey

God and do not do His Will are deceived into thinking they are saved. God’s Will is given to us

throughout the Holy Bible, in the commandments, ordinances and statues and in the sayings and

examples given to us from Jesus. It is only by careful reading and studying of His Word and in

proper prayer, do we get to know God and what He requires of us as we make our way through this

present world. Follow the directions from Jesus, from His Words and from His actions. We show

our love to God by keeping His laws and commandments. Workers of iniquity are those walking

forward through life in a lawless manner, they do not walk in the Torah. They break the Laws, they

do not obey the Father and the Son.

35. Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Mat 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

Mat 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon

that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Those that hear the sayings of Jesus and do them are those who build their house upon a rock -

to create a solid foundation and building or forming ourselves as children of God, requires us to

follow the examples given to us by Christ, to hear what He asks and to do them. If one ignores

them, He is foolish and will not be able to build a solid foundation. This means read the Word of

God carefully and do what is commanded, this includes the Word of God in both the Old and New

Testaments. Note that Christ is the Rock, we build our faith upon His Words and examples.

36. Mat 9:16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

Mat 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

Old garment, new garment, old wine, new wine, those that repent need to put on a new man, to

leave the old man behind- when you repent and become a new person in Christ, you need to leave

all the bad old person behind and totally become the new person working towards becoming

righteous in your heart and mind. Working to obey and trying to grow in love and to please God, in

whatever we do trying to do it in a manner that will be acceptable in God’s sight. A major

requirement of repenting is going forward in obedience to God. Repentance requires going forth in

15

action according to God’s Will. It means walking forward and no longer sinning. To do this you must

know the Torah and walk in it.

37. Mat 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

Mat 9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

When we pray, pray for more disciples to come and help in the harvest- when we pray we are

to ask for help, in having other disciples come to work with us, in preaching the kingdom of God, in

helping us to bring more souls for God’s harvest.

38. Mat 10:27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

When carrying the Word of God forward to the world, fear not those that can kill the body, fear only him that can destroy the soul and body sending it to hell- when we are disciples for Christ do not

fear those that can kill the body, only fear those that can kill the soul. We must be strong and

persevere, hold fast to our faith no matter what the circumstance, hold fast to the very end.

39. Mat 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father

which is in heaven

Confess Christ before others - only by doing this will Christ confess us before God the

Father. In being one of God’s Children, we need to be bold when occasions arise, be need to be

thankful that we are one of His and tell others that we follow Him. We are to do this when the

opportunity presents itself.

40. Mat 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Mat 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

16

Love God more than any other person and follow after the path that Christ left for us - we

need to love God above all else and to dedicate the purpose of our life to Him by trying to follow the

examples and teachings He left us. We need to apply these examples and directives as we make

our way through this present worldly life, not losing sight of our main purpose, being to grow in

righteousness in preparation for our coming life with God. Note we are to follow after Yeshua in

what He told us and showed us, which is the same as coming from the Father.

41. Mat 11:6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Blessed is he who professes to others his life for Christ - we are to be joyful and let others

know our love for Christ and that our lives are His, and to us it is important to follow His examples

and laws.

42. Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light

When we know the Son we also know the Father, when we are heavy laden ask God for help –

Jesus will help us carry our load and lighten our burdens, we need to ask Him to walk with us and

help us when we find life difficult or imposing, He is able to carry us and get us through those

seemingly impossible times. He will give us rest along the way, especially when we need it. We are

to learn from Him in the examples He set, being meek and loving at heart. We are to put our trust

in Him. His yoke is light and is that of walking in the Torah, it is much lighter than the yoke of the

oral laws.

43. Mat 12:11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

Mat 12:12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

We are told that doing good on the Sabbath day is lawful - we are told that the Sabbath is not

only a day of rest but that we can do good on that day as well, we can help others, we can visit with

the elderly and the sick. We can help those in need as they cross our path on that day. Jesus by

17

addressing this is endorsing keeping of the Sabbath commandment. It has never been done away

with or transferred to another day. Recognize Jesus came to the Jews, who knew the law, Jesus did

not have to tell them to keep the Sabbath, only how it can be kept. By example to us Jesus kept

the Sabbath and we are to follow and do has He has showed us.

44. Mat 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad

He that is not with me is against me - there is no sitting on the fence, either we are with Jesus

or we are against Him. When we are with Jesus, we need to try and do what we can to help in

gathering his sheep.

45. Mat 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Mat 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

A warning not to blasphemy against the Holy Ghost - we are not to blasphemy against the

Holy Ghost as there is no forgiveness for this offence. Blasphemy to the Holy Ghost is the same as

that directly to the Father.

46. Mat 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Mat 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Mat 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Mat 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Our words come from the heart therefore be careful in what you say – we will be judged not

only by our fruit that we produce, but also by our words that we speak, we need to have a good

heart and mind and to speak only good words that come out of our mouth, reflecting the state of

our heart and mind.

18

47. Mat 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Do the Will of the Father – when we do the Will of God we are His children and the brothers

and sisters of Christ. Doing the Fathers Will means obeying Him and doing that which He guides us

to do or requires us to do. If it is righteous and Holy, then it is His Will. Doing His Will means

keeping His instructions to us, as coming out of His Holy Word, growing in the manner He requires

of us and helping others in need when we come across them. Walking the path through life we are

doing God’s Will provided we apply what God’s Word has told us, it is our guide in going forward.

48. Mat 13:18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

Mat 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

Mat 13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

Mat 13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

Mat 13:22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

Mat 13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

The sower is spreading the Word of God, not all receive it and not all keep it to the end – when

Christ was spreading the Word of God, not all heard it, even many of those that did and received it

could not keep it due to the difficulties of life, only a few who received it persevere to the end.

These are the ones that not only hear it but understand it and accept it in their heart, they are the

ones that persevere against all the worlds difficulties, it is they that bring forth fruit. The seed or

understanding is now made available to us from the Word within the entire Bible.

**49. Mat 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men

Honour God in your heart and do His commandments – what comes out of your mouth should

be truth, guided from your heart and mind, honour God and follow His commandments only, not

the commandments of man or traditions of man. In order to worship God we must follow what we

learn from his Word. The commandments of man result in worship of God in vain ! When we pray,

19

our words must come from the heart. Note that two commandments of man are Easter and

Christmas, these go against God’s commandments of His Holy Day of Pesach.

50. Mat 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Mat 15:17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Mat 15:20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands

defileth not a man

The words you speak come from your heart – be careful of the words that come out of your

mouth, they are a direct reflection of your heart and mind, do not have them defile you. Clean your

mind and only keep righteous thoughts as you go forward.

51. Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Mat 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own

soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Deny yourself and do the things Jesus taught – do not get caught up in the things of the world,

rather keep your focus on Jesus and the things He taught, work towards building up your treasures

in heaven, not those of this world. Remember your life in this world is temporary so do not let it

become your sole or dominating purpose, the present is a short and temporary life. The purpose

God gave us life is to go forward and grow towards an eternal life, not a life to get as much as you

can for yourself.

52. Mat 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Mat 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

20

Jesus speaking of His second coming, He brings a reward with Him for His saints. At that time

when He comes some will not taste death – Jesus when He returns at the end of the tribulation, He

comes in glory and brings with Him a reward for His saints, according to their works. Those saints

alive at that time will not taste death. This is Jesus coming unexpectedly for His Bride, His

Congregation, this is the completion of the first resurrection. This is a small summer harvest of

souls to eternal life, those that will serve under Jesus during the Millennium. The fall harvest or

second resurrection is the large one and comes later, at the end of the Millennium. The saints are

those who endure and keep the faith of Jesus and keep the commandments of God.

53. Mat 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

Mat 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better

for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of

the sea

Upon repentance and conversion become like a little child – when you take on Christ become

humble in heart and mind and take the attitude that you need to learn all of God’s Ways, just as if

you were a little child learning things for the first time. Do not chastise or mislead others who have

initially taken on Christ and are growing in him. Children are enthusiastic in learning and growing.

This also has duality in meaning, do not destroy the belief of Jesus in children.

54. Mat 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Mat 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

God rejoices for each one of His lost people that come to take on Jesus– when a lost person

comes to Christ, repents and goes forward as a new person there is rejoicing in heaven as each one

that is saved is valued.

55. Mat 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

21

Mat 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

When one of our brethren trespasses, tell him, if he corrects his fault good, if not take one or

two more brethren and confront him again, if he still does not repent then treat him as a heathen–

when dealing with brethrens who trespass, confront them, if they do not repent, take one or two

others and again confront them. If they do not then repent, tell the rest of the group or

congregation and then treat them as a heathen or unbeliever.

56. Mat 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

When two of God’s children walk together and ask the Father, it shall be done. Whenever two

or three of God’s children are gathered together to pray Jesus is there in the midst – when two of God’s

children agree and ask the Father it shall be done for them. When two or three are gathered to

worship and pray, Jesus is there in the midst of them. He is there to hear them and help them.

57. Mat 18:32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

Mat 18:33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

Mat 18:34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

Mat 18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Forgive our brethren and God forgives us- we are to continually forgive our brethren when

they are in debt to us, or do that which harmed us, it is only by our forgiveness of others does God

forgive our transgressions.

58. Mat 19:8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

Mat 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

22

Divorce is only valid for fornication of the wife – the law of divorce given to Moses was only

allowed for fornication of the wife, and those that marry a divorced woman commit adultery.

**59. Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

The only good and pure and holy one is God – recognize that God the Father and the Son of

God are the only pure and good and holy ones and if you want to gain eternal life you need to keep

God’s laws, whose intent is to help you grow holy in heart, mind and spirit. We must serve God and

be obedient to His Will, His Word, and His commandments. We must live in the manner that He

demands. By doing this it acts to help us mature in heart and mind in a manner that pleases God

and our action of obeying is that of showing our love to God.

60. Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

Do not murder, commit adultery, steal or bear false witness – a statement on some of the 10

commandments.

61. Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Honour your parents, love you neighbour – a further statement on some of the 10

commandments.

62. Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

To become perfect sell all that you have, give it to the poor and follow Christ – this means most

of us normally cannot become perfect, however we can give to the poor and follow Christ with

God’s help, and do as much as we can in growing in the manner He wants us to grow. Helping

others by actions and giving, results in our laying up treasure in heaven. It also tells us not to get

caught up in having a major focus with money and possessions of this world. We are to act in a

manner that results in doing good to others as we make our way forward through this present

23

world. Loving others is done by our actions towards them, especially in helping those less fortunate

that ourselves, those struggling to obtain the basic necessities of life.

63. Mat 19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Mat 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

The way of the world with money makes it difficult to let go and be able to enter the kingdom of

heaven – we live in a world where from the time we are born we are taught to get what we can. We

learn to treasure money and material goods. But with God’s help we can change our primary focus

to that of give and growth in Christ in order to gain the kingdom of God. We need to remember

that with the help of God all things are possible. Our focus should be on preparation in gaining

access to the kingdom of God.

64. Mat 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Forsake houses, brethren, parents, siblings, wife, children and land for Jesus sake and you will

be rewarded and have everlasting life - we need to put Christ first above all else in this world, not to

get caught up in the affairs and riches of this world. By putting Christ first we will be rewarded and

obtain everlasting life. Note that family is not anywhere as important as putting Christ first.

65. Mat 19:30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

Many that are first shall be last and the last shall be first – in the current world many of those

that are deemed to have riches, prestige, position, and authority will often be placed at the bottom

of the group that are saved, while those at the bottom of society will often be placed at the top of

the group that are saved. Often the manner in which the heart grows depends upon you place

within society. It depends upon how much you value your future life as opposed to your current life.

66. Mat 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen

24

The last to come to Christ often shall be first and many that came early shall be last, many are called but few are found worthy and found to be the chosen - when one converts to Christ later in life,

they are usually more passionate in wanting to serve Him and please Him than one who was

converted early in life. Of those who have been called only a few become passionate and are found

to be worthy and to be called the chosen ones.

67. Mat 20:26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

Mat 20:27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

The great in God’s eyes are those that serve others - the way God looks at those in this world,

they are great in His eyes when they place themselves as servants to all others.

68. Mat 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

The tabernacle or church or place of worship is God’s house of prayer - when we are in God’s

tabernacle or church we need to treat it as a house of prayer, a place where we come together

before God, not a place to do business and make money.

69. Mat 22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

Mat 22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

Mat 22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

When called we must prepare to become children of God, in addition often those called near

the end become more enthusiastic. Of those called not all persevere and become the chosen - when we

are called, we need to work towards our preparation of becoming righteous as God’s children and

often those called later in life have more passion for growing in Christ, maybe due to life’s

experience or recognition of the shortness and impermanence of life. It is only those that once are

called and continue faithfully to work towards the future promise and endure to the end are the

ones that are chosen.

70. Mat 22:21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

25

In this world make your way obeying the laws of Government, but also render to God everything

that comes from God – we need to pay taxes to the Government and live by the rules of this world as

we make our way forward, in addition we need to thank God for all the blessings which have come

from Him and to do His Will. His Will includes helping others less fortunate that ourselves.

71. Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Mat 22:31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

Mat 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

In the resurrection we all become new and one with God – when we are resurrected to a new

life, we are spirit and we neither marry, or are given in marriage, we are all a new person in one

with God and part of His family.

**72. Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The two great commandments are to grow in love – we are to learn to love God with all our

heart, soul and mind and also to love our neighbor as our self. Growing in love is the main purpose

of the commandments, growing in love is to grow in holiness. Growing in love changes our basic

nature, it changes our heart and our mind. Loving God means our focus is on wanting to do what

pleases Him, showing love for God is keeping His commands, being totally obedient. Loving our

neighbor is looking out for his best interest.

73. Mat 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

Mat 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Mat 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

26

The terms Father and Master or Rabbi are reserved for God and Christ – you are not to call

anyone on this earth in a holy context either Father or Master, or Rabbi, except God and Christ. This

also includes that no one should be called Padre, or any of these terms in any other language.

Padre is father in both Italian and Spanish and is used by the Catholic church.

74. Mat 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

Mat 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Serving others and being humble is our goal – we are to strive to develop a humble spirit and

to serve others in a humble manner. This is a directive on the path towards growing in

righteousness and holiness and in love to others.

75. Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Mat 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

As the end approaches false prophets arise, but endure to the end to be saved – as the end

time approaches, many shall be deceived from false prophets, but to those who test the false

prophets and false doctrines and follow only that taught by Christ and endure to the end, they shall

be saved.

76. Mat 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Mat 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Make sure you are always ready for when Christ returns – we do not know the time when

Christ will return, make sure that we are ready at all times, and that one will be found acceptable.

Do not be caught unprepared.

77. Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

27

Again make sure you are always ready for when Christ returns – we do not know the

time when Christ will return, make sure that we are ready at all times, lest we be caught

unprepared. If we are unprepared and have not been following and living in the word, Jesus will not

know us.

78. Mat 25:29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but

from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath

This comes from the parable of talents, you need to use the gifts God gave you for his glory –

those given more talent are expected to use them and do more than those given little talent. If you

do not use them, they will be taken from you.

79. Mat 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Mat 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Mat 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

Mat 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

Mat 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Seeing others in need it is our duty to help – we are to help others in need and not to pass by

ignoring them. We are to look on these opportunities as a chance to help and by doing so please

God. If we have love in our heart, we will do these things naturally, thus showing our love by our

actions.

80. Mat 25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

Mat 25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

Mat 25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

Mat 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it

28

not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Again seeing others in need it is our duty to help – we are to help others in need and not to

pass by ignoring them. We are to look on these opportunities as a chance to help and by doing so

pleasing God. If we have love in our heart, we will do these things thus showing our love by actions.

By having righteousness in our heart and responding we show by our works that we are acting in a

manner acceptable to God and to life everlasting.

81. Mat 26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

Mat 26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Mat 26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

Jesus gave us a New Testament of communion – – we have a New Testament of communion

of Jesus and His broken body and spilled blood for our sins, we are to commemorate this action

until His return. Note that this action given to us by example by Jesus was on the night of the start

of Passover, Nisan 14th. Jesus also showed us to give thanks to God for providing food for our daily

use, or to say grace before eating. We are to be thankful for everything as everything comes from

God.

82. Mat 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

We are told to watch and pray against temptation because the flesh is weak – temptation is

always a danger because the flesh is weak, therefore always watch and pray, with God’s help we

will be able to resist temptation.

**83. Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The disciples and the congregation of God are to go forward to all nations teaching and

baptizing – in teaching it is to observe all things that Christ commanded to His disciples, which is in

29

both the Old and New Testament, the Words of Christ in the New Testament and the actions of

Christ in the New Testament. Then Christ is with us even to the end or the last day. When we

follow Jesus we become His disciples and we need to do what we can to bring others to Christ.

Book of Mark

84. Mar 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Christ teaching the gospel of the kingdom of God – we are to repent as the time is upon us, we

do not know exactly when, but the end time is coming and we are to prepare, or seek the kingdom

of God, to be ready and to be found acceptable, watch and pray always.

85. Mar 2:21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.

Mar 2:22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

This has to do with repentance and our taking on a new man in Christ – when we take on

Christ, we repent and become a new person, meaning we now need to leave the old person and

way of doing things behind and go forth in a new manner, growing as God would have us grow.

Leave your old habits and attitudes behind, form new ones that are given to us from God. Going

forward and no longer sinning, going forward and growing in love.

86. Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

The Sabbath was made for man – Jesus tells that the Sabbath rest was made for MAN, not for

the Israelites or the Jews but for man, whether Jew or Gentile. God made that day for man to grow

close to God and to obtain rest. To remember and reflect on all of God’s creation, His blessings to

30

us and our purpose here and now on this earth. Jesus made the Sabbath and is Lord of the

Sabbath, yet by example to us He kept it, if you do not keep it what excuse do you have?.

87. Mar 3:4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

Doing good on the sabbath – it is acceptable to do good on the Sabbath, and in fact if an

event presents itself to us on the Sabbath we are required to do good. We can help others in need

on the Sabbath, visit the sick and elderly or those needing various kinds of help or support.

88. Mar 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

Mar 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but

is in danger of eternal damnation

Blaspheme of the Holy Ghost – it is the only unforgivable sin. The Holy Ghost is the spirit

power of God the Father.

89. Mar 3:35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Doing the Will of God makes us one with Christ – we are to always strive to recognize and do

the Will of God, not to do that of our own will, but rather to do God’s Will just as Christ did. Another

way of looking at this is to walk on the path that God sets before us and wants us to follow, this

includes keeping his laws and commandments and in showing love for others by our actions.

90. Mar 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

Mar 4:25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

Hearing God’s Word we need to follow it – when we hear or read God’s Word, we are to do

what it tells us, then more understanding will be given to us allowing us to grow further in the

manner that God wants us. If we do not do this, even what we understood initially, and did not do,

31

will be lost or taken from us. This is extremely important, before reading God’s word, pray and ask

God to open your mind, to have His spirit guide you and that what is shown to you, you will grasp it,

accept it and obey it from that point on as you continue to go forward.

**91. Mar 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

Mar 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Keep the commandments of God and not those of the tradition of man – we are to obey God

and what His Word tells us to do, not to ignore it in favor of the traditions of man and the world.

Following God’s laws allows our heart to grow in love and righteousness. The way of man is

tradition, look carefully at tradition and examine it, does it follow the way of God, or does it make

the way of God of no effect. It is particularly bad when the way of man conflicts with the way of God

and one goes the way of man. We must be passionate in growing in love and obedience as God

demands. Today there are many traditions of man that go against the commandments of God,

look very carefully and read God’s laws.

92. Mar 7:15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

Mar 7:16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

Mar 7:17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.

Mar 7:18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

Mar 7:19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

Mar 7:20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

Mar 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

Mar 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

Mar 7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

32

Eating does not defile us, what is in our heart and mind is what defiles us – it is the heart and

thoughts of the mind that when evil are what defiles us. Do not let evil thoughts enter or dwell in

our mind, do not entertain them, rather ask God to help us reject them and purge them out and

keep them out. Be careful in what we speak and in what we do. What comes out of our mouth

reflects what is in our heart as do our actions.

93. Mar 8:15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

Leaven is the puffing up, the pride within man’s mind – watch that you do not walk in pride, or

puffing up in your mind at being better than others, remember to be meek and humble, to love

others and place them first before yourself. It is an attitude of love within our mind and on our

heart is what is most important.

94. Mar 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Mar 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

Mar 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Mar 8:37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Mar 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Deny yourself and do the things Jesus taught – do not get caught up in the things of

the world, rather keep your focus on Jesus and the things He taught, work towards building up your

treasures in heaven, not those of this world. Remember your life on this world is temporary so do

not let it become your sole or dominating purpose during the present life and your walk forward.

Rejoice in Jesus and His Words, let the world know that you follow and rejoice in Jesus, whenever

occasions arise or present themselves.

95. Mar 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Jesus said that all things are possible to him that believes – when you have a strong enough

faith and believe, then all things are possible, remember that for them to happen they must be

God’s Will, not ours.

33

96. Mar 9:35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

Desire not to be first, rather desire to serve – we are to be humble and serve others, and not

strive to be first and above others. Do not consider yourself to be self important or above others.

97. Mar 9:37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

We need to guide Children to God – we need to direct and guide children to God. This starts

with one’s own children as well as others.

98. Mar 9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.

Mar 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

Mar 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

Mar 9:41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

Those that follow Jesus are His, they are not against Him – either we are for and with

Jesus or we are against Him, we do not need to be attached to any specific group to be with Jesus.

Note that the Congregation Jesus set up is comprised of individuals scattered throughout the world,

those following His Word, these individuals taken all together form the body of the Christ’s

Congregation.

99. Mar 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Do not destroy a child’s belief in God – no one should ever discourage or teach a child that

what they have learned about their belief of God is wrong.

100. Mar 10:11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.

34

Mar 10:12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

Marriage is binding for our lifetime – we need to stick with the one that we marry, for in not

doing so we can make others and ourselves to commit adultery. This then tells one to be careful

and let God chose your mate for you.

101. Mar 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Mar 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

Children’s minds are open and learning about life and God – the kingdom of God is filled with

those of humble, open and learning minds. We need to become as children and learn to grow in

Christ as then we belong and are allowed to enter into the kingdom of God. Children are

passionate about learning, they have an open mind and are quick to accept what is being taught as

coming from God’s Word .

102. Mar 10:24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

Mar 10:25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Mar 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Riches of this world blind us from focusing on our future goal of life with God – we need God to

work within us to allow us to overcome the world and the traps of riches, and allow us to work

towards laying up treasures in heaven that will allow us entry into the kingdom of God. It is

because all things are possible with God, that we can let go of the things of this world and grow in

the manner that God wants us to, recognize we need His help to do this, so we need to pray and

ask for His help.

103. Mar 10:43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

Mar 10:44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

Mar 10:45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

35

To be great in God’s eyes you need to become a servant to all – we must serve others and help

others, we must become humble in mind and spirit and by actions love others. We must place the

welfare of others above ourselves.

104. Mar 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Mar 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Have faith in God – if our faith is strong and we do not doubt, when we pray and ask God for

help, He will answer and give us what we ask. It must however be according to His Will. We will

receive according to God’s time and schedule. We always need to have patience. What we ask

should be in line with our walking forward on the narrow path.

105. Mar 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Mar 11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Forgive all and do not bear animosity to any – when we pray to God and ask for His

forgiveness, He will give it to us provided we have forgiven all others who have wronged us.

Forgiveness means we are not to harbor a grudge against anyone.

106. Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Mar 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Out of the Law or Torah, love is the key commandment, first to God and then to all others – the

Lord our God is one, we are to love God with all our heart, mind and spirit. Then we are to love

others as we love ourselves. This includes all, family, neighbors, co-workers and enemies. Loving

36

neighbors means helping them when they need help, loving God means keeping His commands

and growing in the manner that He intends for us to grow.

107. Mar 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure

unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Be in Christ and endure to the end – when we are Christ’s we are at odds to the world and we

will be hated, but we need to endure in Christ up to our end no matter how difficult life might

become, this means even if we are persecuted and put to death for our belief, by enduring to the

end we are saved.

108. Mar 14:14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

Christ kept the Passover – by his example Jesus came to fulfill the law, keeping the Passover,

the first of God’s Annual Holy Days, now has new meaning as it falls on the day of Jesus death as

the lamb for our sins and is the time in the evening when Jesus initiated the act of communion in

remembrance of his broken body and spilled blood on the cross, to be honored until He returns.

109. Mar 14:36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

Christ showed us when praying to ask, but to qualify our asking, if it be thy Will, not our will –

by this example we are shown that we may ask God for things, but to ask that it be not our will but

the Will of the Father is what is important and what we will accept. Note that this verse also shows

us the power of the flesh in Jesus wanting to preserve His life. Walking forward in the spirit is not

easy.

110. Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned

The congregation is to go and preach the gospel to the world – the congregation needs to be

careful on what gospel they preach, it needs to be the gospel of the good news of the coming

37

kingdom of God on earth, an important part of that gospel contains belief in Christ and his sacrifice

for our sins. We need to repent, be baptized and by putting on a new person in Christ, prepare for

the coming kingdom of God.

Book of Luke

111. Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

We are to live by reading and learning from the Word of God – the Word of God teaches us

and helps us continually to grow in heart, mind and spirit in the manner that God wants us to grow.

We are to live our life in this world by allowing God’s Word to grow within us and to direct us.

Recognize that living by every Word of God, means obeying what God’s Word tells us. It is not a

pick and choose. It is not just reading, it is action in going forth and following what the Word has

told us. To do this you must spend time on a regular basis in reading God’s word.

112. Luk 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Worship and serve only God – there is one and only one true living God, we are to worship

and follow His commandments and laws and to do what they teach us that we should do, then we

are worshiping and serving God by obeying and doing His Will. To worship we need faith first then

worship comes next.

113. Luk 4:12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God

Do not tempt God – this means we should not purposely put ourselves in a situation where

we expect God to save us. This requires common sense and wisdom, yet we are to proclaim our

faith when asked, even if we know the consequences to us may be drastic. As we go forward

through life, God requires us to act and do things, we are not to leave everything for Him to do for

us. Ask God for wisdom to know how to go forward.

38

114. Luk 4:43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

Christ came to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God – the good news of the coming

kingdom of God on earth is to be preached to the entire world before the end time comes. Christ

started this preaching, for this was the first purpose of His coming, He was the messenger. He then

established His Congregation and instructed His disciples and the congregation to continue to

teach this. It was to tell people to repent and get ready for this coming government of God on

earth. Christ’s second purpose was to take away the sins of the world for those who believe upon

Him and follow His teachings.

115. Luk 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Christ came to call sinners to repent. – the call to repentance, is first to prepare for the

coming kingdom of God, to change and grow in Christ, to be found to be worthy.

116. Luk 5:35 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them,

and then shall they fast in those days.

Fasting is part of growing strong in faith and it works in amplifying prayer – to follow Christ we

should at times fast and pray. Fasting strengthens our spirit when combined with praying. It helps

us to overcome difficult trials. Fasting acts to amplify our prayers. By example we were shown this

in how Jesus prepared for trials and temptations that were to come from Satan.

117. Luk 5:36 And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.

Luk 5:37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

Luk 5:38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

Luk 5:39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

When we repent and take on Christ, we need to become a new person, not retaining our old self

– in repentance we are to change and become a new person in Christ leaving behind our old sinful

39

self and the bad habits we formed. We are to go forward on a path of not sinning, forming new and

righteous new habits and actions. Sin is breaking God’s commandments as given to us to follow.

One must recognize that leaving the old man behind is not so easy since initially we prefer the old

to the new. It takes some time to consciously work on breaking old habits.

118. . Luk 6:3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;

Luk 6:4 How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?

Even on the Sabbath, one must conserve our life, therefore do what you must even that of

eating – we have body needs and eating is one of them, so even on the Sabbath we can do what we

need to do in order to eat or preserve our body. This does not mean we can prepare an elaborate

meal on the Sabbath, but we can prepare a modest meal in a small amount of time and effort. It

also means that if we need to flee to save our life on the Sabbath, that is permissible.

119. Luk 6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Jesus made the Sabbath – Jesus is the Word throughout the Old Testament and made the

Sabbath and therefore is Lord of the Sabbath. It is a sanctified and a weekly Holy Day of God, a

weekly feast day (Lev 23). We are told to keep it and to go through it in the manner in which He

told us to follow it. Recognize that even though Jesus established the Sabbath, He also by example

kept it and showed us how to keep it in helping others, or to keep it in doing good when the

occasion arises. If you truly follow and obey Jesus then you need to keep the Sabbath.

120. Luk 6:9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?

Doing good on the Sabbath – – it is acceptable to do good on the Sabbath, and in fact if an

event presents itself to us on the Sabbath we are required to do good. We can help others in need

on the Sabbath, visit the sick and elderly or those needing various kinds of help or support. Note

that by implication from this verse, as well as by example from Jesus, the Sabbath is still in effect.

Recognize also Jesus came first to the Jews and they were keeping the Sabbath, they did not need

to be told to keep it.

121. Luk 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

40

Luk 6:21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

Luk 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

Luk 6:23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

The kingdom of God is for those following God and doing His Will –those that follow God and

are poor and spiritually hungry, those that weep, those that the world hates, those that God knows,

they are the same as those of the prophets in times of old. These are the people for which the

kingdom of God is ready for.

122. Luk 6:24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

Luk 6:25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

Luk 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Woe to the rich, the worldly content, those that seek praise from others –those that are happy

and satisfied with the present world and do not look and work towards the future world, but rather

are happy and fully content with the world as it now is to them, are those in danger.

123. Luk 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Luk 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Luk 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

Luk 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

Luk 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

Luk 6:32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

Luk 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

Luk 6:34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

Luk 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

41

Luk 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

A theme of love and mercy to all – if you do not love those that do ill to you, your love is not

mature in God’s eyes. You must do good to them that will never return the same to you, then you

by action have shown love to all. Part of this action is to pray for those that use you. Another part

is to accept the advantage that is taken of you and let it be. In your heart you are to strive with

God’s help, to be accepting and loving towards all, even to those who take advantage of you or

harm you. You can only do this when God’s Spirit is working within you. You are not to harbor

resentment of a grudge to others, you are to walk forward in forgiveness to all.

124. Luk 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Luk 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Luk 6:39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

Luk 6:40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

Luk 6:41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Luk 6:42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

Be careful how you judge – since we are not perfect we need to be very careful in judging

others. We should only judge those other brothers who follow Christ, and only by using God’s spirit

within us, not judging according to the world. We need to continually work on getting rid of our own

shortfalls. We are not to judge those that do not follow Christ, there is one that judges them that

being Jesus.

125. Luk 6:43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Luk 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

Luk 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

42

A good heart speaks good words and brings for good fruit – when the heart is right with God,

we bring forth actions and words from the heart that please him. These are those being guided by

a heart that is pure, righteous and loving.

126. Luk 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Luk 6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

Luk 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Luk 6:49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Hearing and doing what Jesus tells us – when we read what Jesus tells us to do and left as

example for us to follow, we need to do it in order to build a solid foundation within our heart, mind

and spirit. Only in this way will our trust in the Lord be able to weather all storms of this world. He

is the Rock upon which we are to build our faith.

127. Luk 7:23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Love for Jesus – If we love Jesus we will never be hesitant to declare our love for him.

128. Luk 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Luk 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Luk 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Luk 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

Luk 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

The Word of God taking root – when one hears the Word of God, there are few people that it

becomes a solid root in their heart. The world around us overwhelms most and they get caught up

in the world in one manner or another and therefore they do not bear fruit as they should. Rather

43

those that keep the Word and let it grow within their hearts, irrespective of life’s troubles or

distractions, are those who bring forth good fruit. They are the ones that build their life upon the

Word of God and not upon the ways of the world. These are the ones that the Word of God has

helped to develop patience.

129. Luk 8:16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

Luk 8:17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

Luk 8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

What talents God gives you make sure you use them – we are given abilities from God and He

expects one to use them, then we are given more blessings, but if we do not use them, then they

will be taken and even more will be taken away from us.

130. Luk 8:21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

Those who Jesus treats as his brethren hear the Word of God and do it – it is important to both

hear or read the Word of God and then to obey and do what God asks. We then are treated as

brethren of Christ. Doing the word of God is applying it to our life as we walk forward.

131. Luk 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Luk 9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

Luk 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

Luk 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

Luk 9:27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

Focus on our future life with God – when we take up our daily cross and follow after Jesus,

we gain eternal life in the future. We need to be set on obtaining our future life and not being

caught up totally in this present life, rather keeping our eye on the coming kingdom of God and

44

doing what is required to become part of it. We must never be ashamed of God’s Words and

requirements, nor of Jesus. When the end times comes those living and following God’s laws will

be taken up and changed and not see death. These are the saints, the small to medium sized

summer harvest.

132. Luk 9:46 Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

Luk 9:47 And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

Luk 9:48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

The greatest in God’s eyes are those who become like children towards Him – children want to

learn and by learning they form their personality and character. When we clear out our mind and

open it to learning God’s ways, we begin again as children growing in God. His Word and our

obedience and acceptance act to shape our heart and mind.

133. Luk 9:49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

Luk 9:50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Anyone who follows Christ and his example, whether part of a congregation or not, is one that is

putting Christ first – when you see a person that follows Christ, obeying and doing what God

commands, he is one of Christ’s, whether he belongs to any group or not. That saying is extremely

important today.

**134. Luk 9:57 And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

Luk 9:58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Luk 9:59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

Luk 9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

Luk 9:61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

Luk 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

45

You need to be totally committed to God on life’s path – if you are going to start down the

path of life following Christ, you need to be fully committed. You cannot look back, rather you must

follow and do what Christ commands, if you do not then you are not fit for the kingdom of God.

Note that Christ says if you are committed then go forward and preach the kingdom of God.

135. Luk 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

God’s harvest of souls is great, but always few laborers, pray for more help – there are many

souls that God wishes to save, there are few workers, pray for more workers for His harvest. This

also implies that you must be an active worker in the harvest of souls for God.

**136. Luk 10:25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Luk 10:26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

Luk 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Luk 10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

To earn eternal life, follow the path of loving God and loving others – the path to eternal

salvation is that of love, first love for God and then love for all others. Note that the Word of God

states that love for God is following his laws and commandments, it is not a warm fuzzy feeling.

137. Luk 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

Luk 11:3 Give us day by day our daily bread.

Luk 11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And

lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Jesus teaching us how to pray to the Father – pray to the Father by first acknowledging that

His Will be done and for His kingdom to come to earth. Next ask for the essentials of life to be

provided as all things come from God. Ask God to forgive us, and for this to occur we need to

forgive others. Ask to be delivered from evil and from temptation into evil.

46

138. Luk 11:8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

Luk 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Luk 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Luk 11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

Luk 11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

Luk 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

In prayer ask God and He will provide for you, ask Him for sending His Holy Spirit to you and He

will give it to you – when you become committed ask God for help and guidance, He will answer you

and provide it, even giving you some of His Holy Spirit. God knows what we need and when asked

to come into our heart, He will enter and give us that which we need.

139. Luk 11:23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

Not being with God means you are against Him – if you do not take Christ on by having Him

entering into your heart and then walking with him, then He will treat you as being against Him.

Being uncommitted is the same as being against Christ.

140. Luk 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Those that hear or read the Word of God and then do what is commanded are those that are

blessed – when one hears or reads the Word of God and then does what God commands, he then is

one that God blesses. Hearing and doing are what God expects and demands of those that follow

Him and these then grow in the manner that pleases Him. The word hear means to both hear and

obey.

141. Luk 11:33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

47

Luk 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

Luk 11:35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

Luk 11:36 If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

Your mind and thoughts when going forward with God are full of light, be aware to keep evil

thoughts out of you mind – once you have put Christ on, you are full of light, your mind and heart

are in tune with righteousness. When you remain focused on Christ, you go forward with a single

commitment, be diligent to keep evil thoughts out of your mind, do not let them creep in.

142. Luk 11:41 But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

Luk 11:42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Giving alms are good, but keep focused on growing in love and following the path God has laid

out for you, doing His Will and pleasing him. – giving to those in need is showing love by action, this

is good, but remember that God is our main focus and living by His laws and commandments show

our love for God.

143. Luk 12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

Luk 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Do not fear those that can kill your body, rather fear those that have you do evil for they will kill

your spirit – losing one’s life in the present world is not the end for those who follow Christ, rather

those that change you into doing evil are those that kill your spirit so that you will not be able to

enter into the kingdom of God, rather you will experience the second death.

144. Luk 12:8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

Luk 12:9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

48

Confess Christ before others - only by doing this will Christ confess us before God the Father.

In being one of God’s Children, we need to be bold and when occasions arise, we need to be

thankful that we are one of his and tell others that we follow Him.

145. Luk 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

A warning not to blasphemy against the Holy Ghost - we are not to blasphemy against the

Holy Ghost as there is no forgiveness for this offence.

146. Luk 12:11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

Luk 12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

When you walk with Christ, if others are persecuting you the Holy Ghost will put the words into

your mouth – if you are one of Christ’s and are walking with Him and others are persecuting you

because of your belief, do not worry as to what to say, the Holy Ghost will tell you what to say.

147. Luk 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Your life does not consist of the things you possess – beware of covetousness, the material

things and honors you build up and possess in this life do not do any good in the life to come.

148. Luk 12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

Luk 12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

Luk 12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

Luk 12:25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

Luk 12:26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

Luk 12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Luk 12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Luk 12:29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of

49

doubtful mind.

Luk 12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

When walking with God do not concern yourself with the essentials of life, God will take care of

you – when you are following Christ and doing his Will, do not worry about the basics of life, God will

take care of you and provide what you need. Just live one day at a time, keep faith and your focus

on God.

149. Luk 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Luk 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Seek the kingdom of God – we are to first seek the kingdom of God, to prepare for being

found acceptable. When we do this God adds other good things to us as we go through life in this

world while continuing to work towards building our life in the coming world with God. Note that

those that are given the kingdom of God, which is the first resurrection leading into the Millennium,

is a little flock.

150. Luk 12:33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure

in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Luk 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Build up treasures in heaven – we are to work towards building up treasures in heaven, we

do this by two actions, first is being a disciple of Jesus and working to bring others to God and

second in showing love to others, whether by helping others directly through doing things for them

or by giving alms. We need to grow into building treasures by these two actions, in this way our

focus is on heavenly things.

151. Luk 12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

Luk 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

Luk 12:48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

50

We do not know the time when Christ will return, use the talents you are given for the glory of

the Lord – we need to watch and always be ready for we do not know when Christ will return, as we

go through life we need to continually use the talents that God gave us to His glory. The more

talent you are given the more that is expected of you.

**152. Luk 12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

Luk 12:50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

Luk 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division

Luk 12:52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

Luk 12:53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Christ came initially to call the saints which will often divide families – to follow Christ, one

needs to totally obey God’s laws and commandments and to focus within the heart on building for

our future life in the kingdom of God. This will often times alienate the follower from his family and

friends as they are focused on living mainly for this present life, or are following traditions of man

in preference to commandments of God. If God does not open the minds of family and friends to a

fuller understanding of His Word, and then for them to accept what they are shown, then there will

be major conflicts within the family. The Kingdom of God is the Government of God come down to

earth, it is the Millennium.

153. Luk 12:57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

Luk 12:58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

Luk 12:59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.

Since we are to grow in love for others, always give them the benefit of the doubt – when

others demand restitution from you, always give them the benefit of the doubt, even if you are

disadvantaged by them, you are to do what benefits them in this world in showing your love for

them.

154. Luk 13:1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

Luk 13:2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

51

Luk 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luk 13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

Luk 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

People perish and suffer not because they were the worst of sinners, but all perish, therefore repent now as you do not know when your time will come – suffering and dying is not because you

are a worse sinner than others, rather we all die, therefore repent now as you do not know when

you will die. Once you die if you have not previously repented, then it is too late, there is no second

chance later after death.

155. Luk 13:6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

Luk 13:7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

Luk 13:8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

Luk 13:9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Christ wants to give everyone as much chance as possible to bear fruit – the analogy of the

fruit tree not bearing fruit, is that of man not growing in Christ and building his treasures in heaven,

God wants to give everyone as much time as possible that they might come to bearing fruit for

Him.

156. Luk 13:18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?

Luk 13:19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

Luk 13:20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?

Luk 13:21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

The kingdom of God grows starting from a few until in the end that of many – the kingdom of

God initially has only a few saints, as time progresses, it will continue to grow up until the time of

the first resurrection and then others that are Jesus He will collect on the Last Great Day.

**157. Luk 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,

Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Luk 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and

52

ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

Luk 13:26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

Luk 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

Luk 13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

Many will strive to enter at the straight gate, few will find the way – there will be many who

thought they knew Christ that will not be able to enter into the kingdom of God, only those that

followed the Word and obeyed what was commanded of God, and then grew as children of God in

heart and spirit will be allowed through the narrow gate. These verses of scripture are extremely

important, one needs to take serious note of them, and then reflect on how one is going forward.

158. Luk 13:29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

Luk 13:30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last

Those entering into the kingdom of God will come from throughout the entire world – the

kingdom of God will be comprised of those in all the nations of the world. Some of those taking on

Christ towards the end will be the first to enter while those taking on Christ much earlier will enter

last. It will in fact depend upon how passionate one is to learning and following Christ.

159. Luk 14:11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself

shall be exalted.

Be humble before God – we are to grow to be humble towards God and our fellow man, as

this helps our heart to change to that which God desires.

160. Luk 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Luk 14:24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

God calls people to come to Him, if we do not come when called, we are lost forever – when

God calls a person, we must respond and come to Him or else lose out on salvation.

53

161. Luk 14:25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

Luk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Luk 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Luk 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

Luk 14:29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,

Luk 14:30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

Luk 14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?

Luk 14:32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

Luk 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

When taking on Christ be aware of the cost in this world – when one takes on Christ and

learns as his student you need to be aware of the cost you will pay in this life. It becomes a total

commitment of changing your life to that of walking on a path that God places before you, doing

His Will, growing in the manner He requires up to the very end. Loving God must be the most

important thing in your life. It is not your association with the rest of the world, including that of

your close family that is important. Going forth in Christ is the number one focus and major

commitment.

162. Luk 14:34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?

Luk 14:35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

When one repents and takes on Christ, one must remain passionate towards growing in Christ –

when one repents and takes on Christ they must remain passionate and committed to growing in

Christ, if they become complacent, it is like salt losing its savour, then it is no longer worth

anything, and the person has lost his salvation. Loving God and Christ must be your main focus

and first love in going forward, it needs to continue to grow, it must not grow cold or become

lukewarm.

54

163. Luk 15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

Luk 15:5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

Luk 15:6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

Luk 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

God is joyful over each person that repents and walks the path shown to us by Christ – every

single sinner that repents makes God joyful. Those that change and follow in Christ’s steps are

those that God holds close and values above all others.

164. Luk 15:8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

Luk 15:9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

Luk 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Again as above, God is joyful over each person that repents and walks the path shown to us by

Christ – every single sinner that repents makes God joyful. Those that change and follow in Christ’s

steps are those that God holds close and values above all others.

165. Luk 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

Luk 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

Luk 16:12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

Luk 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Be faithful and just in everything, serve God and not money or the world – if you are not

faithful and just in everything in this life, then you will not be faithful and just to God. You must

place your faith and trust in God and serve Him and not that of money or things of this world.

166. Luk 16:14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they

55

derided him.

Luk 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Luk 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Luk 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

God knows your heart, before Christ’s first coming people only knew the law and the prophets,

since John the Baptist, people now know the coming kingdom of God. This does not make the law

invalid, rather not one little bit of the law was changed – From the time of Christ’s first coming, the

kingdom of God is now preached. This tells us to repent, to prepare of the coming government of

God on earth and to follow Christ’s examples and all of the law (Torah), not just that stated directly

in the New Testament but also that shown from Christ’s actions in the New Testament and also

from that stated in the Old Testament, as not one bit of the law(Torah) has changed in it’s wording

and intent. Note that this comes to us directly from Jesus.

167. Luk 16:18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery:

and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

Marriage is binding for our lifetime – we need to stick with the one that we marry, for in not

doing so we can make others and ourselves to commit adultery. It is most important to have God’s

hand on choosing our mate.

168. Luk 17:1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

Luk 17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

Offences come, be careful not to destroy the new found faith of those just starting to grow in

Christ. Beware that you do not lead a child astray or away from God –one needs to be aware of not

leading a child away from God. When we are in the church family, be careful not to say or do

anything that destroys the faith of a new convert to Christ. Rather we need to encourage each

other to continue to grow in Christ. Remember growth takes time and effort.

169. Luk 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

Luk 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day

56

turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

If our brother sins against us, rebuke him and if he repents forgive him – If our brother in the

congregation sins against us, rebuke him, if he repents then we need to forgive him. No matter

how many times he sins, provided he repents, we need to forgive him. Everything we need in order

to grow in Christ is based upon forgiveness and love.

170. Luk 17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

Luk 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

Faith in God even when tiny can work wonders – the important thing is to have faith in God

and His ability and what He tells us, even when we have a small amount of faith, it can still work

wonders. By studying and following God’s Word it will work to have our faith grow stronger.

171. Luk 17:9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

Luk 17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

We are to do the things commanded of us by God as it is our duty – the things commanded to

us by God, we are to do not expecting thanks or praise, since doing those things is our duty in

following the instructions to us from God. We are God’s servants and we are to serve Him and

obey Him, He has told us that is our duty.

172. Luk 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Luk 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

We need to pray always and stay steady in growing in faith – Jesus tells us to pray always and

to keep ourselves growing in faith so that we will be ready and found acceptable when He returns.

173. Luk 18:9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

57

Luk 18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

Luk 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

Luk 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

Luk 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

Luk 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

It is important to be humble before God when praying, to have the right attitude in our mind –

when we pray to God, we need to humble ourselves and recognize we are poor sinners and it is only

by his grace that He forgives us and removes our sins. The actions we do in going forward cannot

remove our sins. Our attitude towards God and the world is the most important action on our part,

not that we should ignore other things, but we must do everything with the right heart and mind,

with the right attitude, then we are following correctly providing we walk in obedience.

174. Luk 18:15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

Luk 18:16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Luk 18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

Children’s minds are open to learning about life and God – the kingdom of God is filled with

those of humble, open and learning minds. We need to become as children and learn to grow in

Christ, as then we grow and belong to Him, and are allowed to enter into the kingdom of God.

175. Luk 18:18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Luk 18:19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

Luk 18:20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

Luk 18:21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

Luk 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

Luk 18:23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

58

Luk 18:24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

Luk 18:25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Luk 18:26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?

Luk 18:27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

Only with God’s help can we grow and change as He wants us to mature – we need to have God

work within us in order to change properly, to grow in maturity, in righteousness and love. We need

to watch that we do not get caught up in hording money and valuing the ways of the world. This life

is temporary and we need to keep our eye on our promised eternal life. With God everything is

possible, we need to ask for His help.

176. Luk 18:28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.

Luk 18:29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,

Luk 18:30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

Our reward for choosing life in the next world over life in the present world is manifold – we

must be totally committed to walking towards life in the next world, then our blessings in the

present time and in the next world will be increased many times over.

177. Luk 19:26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.

This comes from the parable of talents, you need to use the gifts God gave you for his glory –

those given more talent are expected to use them and do more than those given little talent. If you

do not use them, they will be taken from you.

178. Luk 19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

This is a continuation of talents, those who are against God will in the second resurrection be

slain – when you do not use your talents for God’s glory, but rather for your own and not walking

with God, then you are against God and will experience the second death at the second

resurrection.

59

179. Luk 19:46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

The places of worship are God’s houses of prayer, they are not to do business – places of

worship are God’s house for prayer, they are places where when we assemble, God is present and

listening. Any place we assemble to worship is at that time a holy place.

180. Luk 20:25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's

Pay your taxes to the government and give offerings and alms to God and the poor as well as

love and honesty to all – we are to obey our government and pay taxes, but unto God we are to

make offerings and alms and to show forgiveness, love and truth to all our fellow man. Note that

obedience to God is valued above offerings.

181. Luk 20:34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

Luk 20:35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

Luk 20:36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

Luk 20:37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

Luk 20:38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

The resurrection and our change as well as God of the living – when we are resurrected we are

changed, there is no longer marriage, we become spirit and never die again, we become God’s

children and we live to serve and worship God.

182. Luk 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Luk 21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

60

Watch near the end of time that you are not deceived – when the end times approach there

will be wars and unrest throughout the world, there will be people that come saying they are Christ

or his representative, do not follow them, watch that you are not deceived. You need to know how

to recognize the true Christ when He comes, prayer and the Bible tells you how to do this. Always

use scripture to evaluate all things.

183. Luk 21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

Luk 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Luk 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

Luk 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

Luk 21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

Luk 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Luk 21:16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

Luk 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

Luk 21:18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

Luk 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

In the end times, many things shall happen, if you are following God faithfully you need not

worry – at the end times many wars and nations will be fighting, great earthquakes will occur,

famines and pestilences will occur, many fearful sights will take place, great signs from the

heavens will also occur. Before the above occurs, those faithful in following Christ will be

persecuted, thrown in prison, some will be killed and you will generally be hated by nearly everyone.

Your soul will survive intact for being resurrected at Christ’s coming. You will be one of his Saints if

you follow and maintain patience and persevere to the end. In not being deceived you must know

the Bible, that means a lot of study.

184. Luk 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Luk 21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

Luk 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Luk 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

61

Luk 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

The peak of the end time is when you see Jerusalem or Judah surrounded by armies – if you are

in Jerusalem leave, go to the mountains, it will be a time of tremendous upheaval and hardship,

many shall be killed, others placed in captivity and Jerusalem ransacked. The land will be

distressed as well as the people. Jerusalem will be over run and ramsacked, this will be at which

the time of the Gentiles is fulfilled. This occurs over a 3.5 year time.

185. Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Luk 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Luk 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

In the general time that Christ comes, there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars and

storms on the seas, men will be afraid as the powers of heaven will shake – when Christ returns He will

come in a cloud with power and glory, everyone will see his coming. The sun, moon, stars and

heavens will appear to summon the end of earth, but those in Christ should rejoice for they will

know it is Christ that is returning and their salvation draws close.

186. Luk 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

Luk 21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

Luk 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

Luk 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

Luk 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

At the end time, you will be able to recognize it as the signs are like the seasons - when one

sees the various things come to pass it will be recognized in the way seasons are recognized. The

generation that sees the signs coming together will live to the end and the return of Christ.

62

187. Luk 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Luk 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Do not get caught up and overcome by what is happening in the world, but rather watch for the

signs and watch that you are ready, for things will happen quickly – do not be caught up in the ways of

the world or overcome by the things that are happening in the world, for the end will approach

quickly, you are to watch and recognize the season and events signaling the end time and the

coming of Christ, you are also to watch yourself that you will be found worthy to stand before Christ

and to escape the plagues God sends to punish the earth. Watch and pray always.

188. Luk 22:8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat

Jesus kept the Passover – Jesus by his example kept the Passover, in fact it became an

important event with new meaning for Christians. Jesus established the foot washing and the act

of communion of His body and blood until the time He returns. This was done on the evening of the

14th of Nisan. The day of the week this falls on changes every year.

189. Luk 22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.

Luk 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:

Luk 22:16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

Luk 22:17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:

Luk 22:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.

Luk 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Luk 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

Jesus gave us a new and a second meaning to celebration of the Passover, with directions on

how it was to be kept – the Passover was now given with new instructions on how to celebrate it, it

was in the evening or beginning of the Passover, we are to take wine as representative of the

63

spilled blood of Jesus and to take bread as the death of his body which was shed for all. We are to

do this in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice of himself for our sins. This is the New Covenant

(Testament) of our salvation and we are to do this year after year until Christ returns.

190. Luk 22:24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

Luk 22:25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

Luk 22:26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

Luk 22:27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth

Christ showed us that serving others makes us in His eyes greater that those being served – this

example of serving others and being humble is what we need to do in order to have our heart and

mind changed into becoming righteous and holy, serving and loving others. This was shown by

example when Jesus washed his disciples feet.

191. Luk 22:40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

Jesus warns his disciples to pray so that they do not enter into temptation – we are to use

prayer to resist evil, to overcome temptation, to keep a pure mind and heart by asking for God’s

help.

192. Luk 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

By example Jesus shows us when we pray and ask, that it is not our will that is important - when

we pray we can ask for things we want God to do for us, but it is not our will that is important,

rather it is God’s Will. This example by Jesus shows us that when we pray we are to make clear

that it is God’s Will that be done.

193. Luk 24:46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

Luk 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name

64

among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem

As it was written, Christ was to suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and forgiveness of

sins starts with repentance by accepting Jesus and his sacrifice for us – Christ came to suffer and die

for our sins, then to rise again on the third day, forgiveness of our sins starts with repentance and

accepting Christ as the savior for our sins by his sacrifice and overcoming death. The repentance

and remission of sins is to be preached in Christ’s name to all nations.

Book of John

194. Joh 2:16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

The tabernacle or the place the congregation assembles is God’s house –God’s house is not to

be a place of business or merchandise. It is a place of prayer and worship. It is a place where we

gather before God, we are in His presence.

195. Joh 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

Joh 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Joh 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

65

Jesus tells that being born again occurs at the resurrection – being born again is when we

change from our earthly body to that of one of spirit, this occurs at the resurrection.

196. Joh 3:9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

Joh 3:10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

Joh 3:11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

Joh 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

Joh 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Jesus tells us to believe and obey Him – when we believe and obey Jesus we shall not perish

but have everlasting life. Jesus came down from heaven and He will ascend back up again as He

spoke at this point in time. As the serpent on the staff of Moses was a symbol for forgiveness of

sin, so will Christ be crucified on a post and those that look upon Him, accept Him will be forgiven

of sin. We need to believe what He tells us of heaven and of other things. Recognize that believing

in Jesus means following His example and doing what He tells us. Note that only Christ Himself, is

the only one that came down from heaven, even at the time of Moses.

197. Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Joh 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Joh 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God

Jesus tells us that God loves us, that He sent his Son to earth to save us, and we need to believe

in Christ – Jesus was sent from heaven by God, in order that those who believe on Christ will be

saved. Christ is the light or goodness and those who come to Him come to the light. If we

66

believeth in Him it means we need to do what He tells us and to follow in what He shows us by

example.

198. Joh 4:13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Jesus is telling us that when we believe in Him and follow Him, the Holy Spirit will dwell in us and

we will in the end be given everlasting life – when we believe in Jesus and follow His Word and

example, we will have the Holy Spirit residing within us and we will be resurrected to eternal life.

Following Jesus is obeying Him and growing in the manner that He told and showed us to grow.

199. Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

God wants us to worship Him in spirit and in truth – when we worship the Father with our

whole mind and heart being humble with love and in righteousness, and directed by the Holy Spirit

within us, we worship Him in spirit and in truth. This is a forerunner of when we are resurrected, as

then we will be spirit and we will also be filled with truth. At this future time when we worship God

we will worship Him fully in the manner that He wishes to be worshiped.

200. Joh 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Joh 5:20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

Joh 5:21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

Jesus learned and followed the Father, the Father raised the dead and so will Jesus raise those

He chooses – Jesus learned from the Father and that Jesus will raise those He wishes from the dead

at the resurrections.

201. Joh 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

Joh 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that

67

honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Honor the Father and the Son, believe on the Father and the Son for everlasting life – we are to

honor both the Father and the Son, and to believe the Word of God and the words and examples

given to us from the Son in order to obtain everlasting life. Recognize this is a key condition,

honoring means obeying and growing to please God and show our love for Him, to worship and

serve Him. Jesus has been given responsibility to judge all at the resurrections.

202. Joh 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

Joh 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

Joh 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

When Jesus returns at the resurrections, He will call and the dead shall rise and be judged – The

Father has given the Son the authority to raise the dead and to judge all mankind. Those who have

followed Jesus and have done good will be resurrected to eternal life, those that have done evil will

be thrown into the lake of fire which is the second death.

203. Joh 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Jesus does the Will of the Father, He is just in His judgment – Jesus is one with the Father, He

does the Will of the Father. Jesus will judge all people and His judgment will be just. All will be

judged by the same criteria.

204. Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Joh 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Joh 5:41 I receive not honour from men.

Joh 5:42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.

Joh 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come

68

in his own name, him ye will receive.

Joh 5:44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

Joh 5:45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

Joh 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

Joh 5:47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

If you have the love of God in you, then you will recognize Jesus as the Son of God – when you

search the Old Testament, you find passages telling of the coming Son of God. If you believe

Moses, then you should also believe Christ. If you do not believe in Christ, then one shall accuse

you, that person being Moses. Search the scriptures as to what they tell you for obtaining eternal

life. This means search the Old Testament and the words recorded by Moses. The Messianic

Congregations know the Old Testament and follow the Words given therein previously by Christ, ask

yourself do you know and follow those Words as well.

205. Joh 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Believe that God the Father sent Jesus to earth as His Son – the first place to start doing the

works of God is to believe and recognize that the Father sent Christ to earth as His Son therefore

we need to do as Christ instructs us from both the Old and New Testaments.

206. Joh 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Joh 6:36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

Joh 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Joh 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Joh 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

Joh 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

69

Jesus is the bread of life, it is only through Him do we obtain everlasting life – the Father sent

Christ to earth ( He came down from Heaven), and it is only by believing in Christ and obeying Him

do we obtain everlasting life. If we accept Him as our savior, He will not reject us, all that accept

Christ He will keep and raise up at the great last day (the large fall harvest).

207. Joh 6:43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Joh 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

To come unto Christ, it is only by being called by the Father, all that have learned of the Father

are called – when we learn of the Father, we are called to accept Christ as our savior. Also note that

on one has seen the Father except the Son of God, even at the time of Moses he did not see the

Father.

208. Joh 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Joh 6:48 I am that bread of life.

Joh 6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

Joh 6:50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

Joh 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Jesus is the bread of life – when we believe on Christ and follow Him, accepting that He

came down from the Father and died for our sins, then we have everlasting life. Believeth on Jesus

means believing in His Words and doing what He asks us to do. It requires action and growth on

our part.

209. Joh 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Joh 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

Joh 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

70

Joh 6:57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

Joh 6:58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

Jesus shed his blood for us – when we accept Jesus as our savior we are given everlasting

life, for He gave up his life for us, He had his body tortured and His blood spilled so that our sins

might be forgiven. This means when we take Christ on we follow what He told us and follow what

He showed us by example, so that we can work towards becoming like Him. Our body, heart and

mind now lives within Him.

210. Joh 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

Only by having the Father call us can we come to Christ – when the Father calls us we can

come to Christ and accept Him as the Son of God which is our only way to salvation. Accepting Him

means following Him in what He wants us to do.

211. Joh 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

Joh 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Joh 7:18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

The doctrine of Christ is from the Father – when we do the Will of the Father as taught us

from Jesus, we learn of God’s righteousness. We need to do the directives and Will of the Father.

212. Joh 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment

Judge by righteousness from God – we need to be careful in judging, it must be by the

righteousness that is of God. We judge by discerning good from evil according to God’s laws. We

do not judge based upon appearance or ways of the world.

**213. Joh 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

71

Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water

Believeth on Christ – when we believeith on Christ, then on the last day we will be given

living water or everlasting life. Jesus kept the Feast of the Tabernacles and the Great Last Day that

followed the end of the Feast of Tabernacles. All those that accept and follow Christ, but did not

make the grade for being classified as one of the saints, these others will be raised up at the

second resurrection and given everlasting life.

214. Joh 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Jesus tells us that since we are all sinners we need to have mercy and compassion to others – in

order to grow in righteousness, we need to develop mercy, compassion, forgiveness and love

towards others, not to judge them to be punished since we too are sinners.

215. Joh 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Jesus is the light of the world – Jesus is the light, the only pure and righteousness one, the

one who gives us eternal life. We are to follow his examples, to walk in his light in order to grow in

love, mercy, service and humbleness.

216. Joh 8:14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

Joh 8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

Joh 8:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

Joh 8:17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

Joh 8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

Jesus came to earth and bears witness of both himself and the Father, so what He says is true –

in order to bear witness there must be two persons for it to be accepted as truth. What Jesus

72

taught is true because it bears witness of Himself and the Father. We are not to judge others

based upon their appearance but rather upon their righteousness or unrighteousness.

217. Joh 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jesus instructed those that believe on Him to continue in His Word – after we believe in Christ,

we are to follow in His Word, to obey and do what He tells us, then we shall know the truth and the

truth will give us peace as it sets us free of the restraints and traps of this world. Being set free

means we recognize the world we are in is temporary and our focus needs to be on the future time

with God, it does not in the overall picture matter what we encounter as we go through life as long

as we deal with it as Jesus directed us, growing in righteousness. While Jesus walked the earth as

a man He gave us lots of examples and lots of direction for us to go forward, just follow Him.

218. Joh 8:33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Joh 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Joh 8:37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

Joh 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

The Word of God needs to reside within us, then Christ will make us free – we need to live by

the Word of God, then Christ makes us free, we no longer are the servant of sin. Living in the Word

of God, means taking Christ on, walking in a manner where we strive to become like Him.

Remember you cannot do this on your own, we need God’s help working within us to do this.

219. Joh 8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

Joh 8:40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

Joh 8:41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

Joh 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

73

Joh 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Joh 8:45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

Joh 8:46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

Joh 8:47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God

We hear God’s Word when we love God and Christ – if we have a heart that is growing in

righteousness, then we hear God’s Words and they reside within us, we hear and accept Jesus and

His Words and examples and we know the truth. Abraham heard and obeyed God and walked in

His ways. The Word is truth. Following in the Word is that of obeying and growing in righteousness.

220. Joh 8:48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

Joh 8:49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

Joh 8:50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

Joh 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

Jesus came and did the Will of the Father – when we keep or do the sayings of Christ, which

are the sayings of the Father, we will be given eternal life. Doing the Will of God is that of keeping

the Word, as it directs us, it is found throughout the entire Bible.

221. Joh 8:52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.

Joh 8:53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

Joh 8:54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

Joh 8:55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

Joh 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

Joh 8:57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Joh 8:59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

74

Jesus was the mediator of God that interacted with Abraham, Jesus is I AM – Jesus was the

mediator of the Old Testament, He is “I AM”. What Jesus did in the Old Testament is that He

learned from the Father, He carried out the Will of the Father and was the one interacting with the

people on behalf of the Father.

**222. Joh 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Joh 10:2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

Joh 10:3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

Joh 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

Joh 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

Joh 10:6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

Joh 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

Joh 10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

Joh 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Joh 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Joh 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

Joh 10:13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

Joh 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Joh 10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

Joh 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Joh 10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

Joh 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Joh 10:19 There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

Joh 10:20 And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

75

Joh 10:21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

Jesus is the good shepherd, who laid down His life for His sheep – we hear the calling from

Jesus, for we recognize His voice and we are His sheep, He is the one shepherd to both the Jews

and the Gentiles, we together are one fold. As His sheep we need to follow Him, to do what He tells

us and shows us. We are not to follow the voice of others that try to call us, only follow the voice of

Jesus. Ask yourself does the Church that you affiliate with follow the voice of Jesus or just gloss

over His Words, picking and choosing only those Words they like. Many say they follow Jesus, but

normally they are only paying lip service to what they say.

223. Joh 10:24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

Joh 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

Joh 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Jesus does everything in the Fathers name, we are His sheep when we believe Him – when we

are Jesus sheep, it is then we hear the voice of Jesus calling us, we follow Him and go where He

leads us whether we are Jew or gentile. It is His words and actions that lead us, by our actions we

follow Him.

224. Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Joh 10:31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

Joh 10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

Joh 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Joh 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

Joh 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

Joh 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Joh 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

Joh 10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and

76

believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

Jesus was sent by the Father and does His works, He is one with His Father – when we see the

works of Jesus we need to believe they were from the Father and to believe what Jesus says for

again it was directed from the Father.

225. Joh 11:9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

Joh 11:10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

Jesus is the light, the truth and the righteousness – if we walk with Jesus, we walk in the light,

if we walk in the dark then we walk with evil. This also reinforces the time measurement of God, a

night being 12 hours and a day being 12 hours.

226. Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Joh 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Joh 11:27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

Belief in Jesus is what gives us eternal life – Jesus is the one given the power to resurrect all

that die, when we believe in Him and obey Him, we will be resurrected by Jesus to eternal life.

Belief in Jesus means doing what He tells us and shows us.

227. Joh 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Joh 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

Joh 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Jesus tells us not to get caught up in loving this life, rather to work towards serving and

following Him – the Father will honor those who follow Jesus and serve Him. We must focus on the

eternal life and not the life of this present world.

77

228. Joh 12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

Joh 12:45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

Joh 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Joh 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Joh 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

Joh 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Seeing Jesus we see the Father, the Father speaks through Jesus, believing and obeying Jesus

then we believe and obey the Father –Jesus came to save the world and to do the Will of the Father,

whatever Jesus said comes to us from the Father. We need to do the commands that Jesus gave

us, for the Word is what we will be judged by. Doing the Father’s commandments gives us life

everlasting.

229. Joh 13:12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?

Joh 13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

Joh 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

Joh 13:15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

Joh 13:16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

Joh 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Joh 13:18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

Joh 13:19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.

Joh 13:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Jesus showed us how to serve and be humble, by belief in Jesus we have belief in the Father –

Jesus showed us that we are to serve one another and to serve God, we need to develop a humble

and serving attitude in our heart. Jesus by His example directs us to do the same. When we

believe in Jesus we also believe in the Father. Washing our brothers feet is a serving and humbling

action that we should do as Jesus both showed us and instructed us to do. The Father is greater

78

than the Son. The action of this serving and humbling act, needs to be written on our heart. We

need to do it joyfully and to go forth in the world serving and being humble to all others.

230. Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Joh 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Jesus gave us a new commandment to love one another – when we love one another the

world shall know we are Jesus disciples, that we follow him. Love or placing others interests above

our own is a key to having our heart grow in the manner that God wants it to grow.

231. Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Joh 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

The way, the truth and life is found only through Jesus, to come unto the Father it is only

through Christ, knowing Jesus we know the Father – we must accept Jesus as sent by the Father, only

then can we come to the Father. Knowing Jesus by His Words and actions, we also know the

Father. Jesus is the way, the truth and eternal life for those that follow Him and do what he said

and showed us by example.

232. Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

We can ask the Father in Jesus name, and Jesus will make intersession on our behalf – we can

boldly and directly approach the Father through our prayers by having Jesus act as our high priest

and making intersession to the Father on our behalf. We can ask the Father through Jesus by

ending our prayers “in Jesus name”.

**233. Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

79

Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Joh 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

Joh 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Jesus tells us that to show love to Him and the Father, we are to keep His commandments. The

Holy Spirit is sent to us by the Father and dwells within us – Jesus tells us to keep His

commandments as by doing so we show our love for Him. Then we are loved by the Father. The

Old Testament is full of the commandments that the Son of God gave us. When the Holy Spirit

comes to us, then Jesus is with us and we will be comforted. Keeping the commandments of Jesus

is also keeping the commandments of the Father.

234. Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Joh 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

Joh 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Joh 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

Joh 14:29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

Joh 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

Joh 14:31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

By loving Christ we keep His Word, then the Holy Spirit will dwell in us and teach us from God’s

Word – again it is clear that to show love for Christ we need to keep His Word, this pleases the

Father and the Holy Spirit is sent to dwell in us and helps us understand and teaches us from

Christ’s Word. This Word is from both the Old and New Testaments. When we show our love to

God by actions, it is then that the Holy Spirit teaches us and leads us on the path going forward, all

coming from God’s Word.

80

235. Joh 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

Joh 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Joh 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Joh 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Joh 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Joh 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Joh 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Jesus is the true vine, when we are made clean through the Word from Christ, then He abides

within us and we bear fruit, by keeping Christ’s commandments we abide in His love – we are a branch

on the vine of Christ when we keep His Words and commandments and then we abide in His love.

Then we bear fruit and it pleases both the Father and the Son. We become Christ’s disciples and

learn from His Word.

236. Joh 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Joh 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Joh 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Joh 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Joh 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

Jesus commands us to love one another, if we do what Jesus commands us to do we are His

friends. When we are chosen we need to go forth and bear fruit – when we do what Jesus commands

81

of us, we will love one another, and then we become friends of Jesus. When He has chosen us, we

are to go forth and bring others to Him by our example and testimony. Doing this we can ask

things of the Father in Christ’s name and if it be His Will, He will give it to us.

237. Joh 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

Joh 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Joh 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

Joh 15:21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

Joh 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

Joh 15:23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

Joh 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

Joh 15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

Joh 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

Joh 15:27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

When you follow Christ and take Him on, the world will hate you – when we take Christ on

and become one of His and follow Him, then the world will hate us and will persecute us as it did

Him. The world does not know Christ nor the Father. Through God’s Holy Spirit we will bear witness.

238. Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Joh 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Joh 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Our guide to the truth is the Holy Spirit – when we receive the Holy Spirit, it works within us

to help us understand the truth from God’s Word, it helps to guide us on the path that we are to

follow. Recognize that to have the Holy Spirit be active in us, we must do what Christ has shown

and told us, we must accept and do God’s Will as it is shown to us, that means going forth in

obedience. It means studying and learning the truth from God’s Word.

82

239. Joh 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Joh 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

We are to ask the Father in Jesus name, then He will give it to us – we are to ask of the Father

in Jesus name, then the Father will give it to us provided it is His Will. He will give it to us in His

time.

240. Joh 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

Joh 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

Joh 16:29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.

Joh 16:30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

Joh 16:31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

Joh 16:32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

The Son came forth from the Father and returns back to Him, Jesus overcame the world for us

– when we believe on Jesus and love Him and obey Him, the Father loves us. Jesus here told us He

came down to the earth from the Father and now returns back up to Heaven. He overcame the

world for us in human form. When we are one of His we shall face tribulation but we need to do it

with good cheer knowing that Jesus overcame the world for our sake.

241. Joh 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Jesus blesses those of us that believe and were not present to see Him when He was in the

world – when we believe in Jesus by faith, not having been there to see Him, we are blessed.

83

Book of Acts

242. Act 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Support those needing help as it is more blessed to give than to receive – by loving others, we

show love by action in helping those who need help, it is better to give than to receive, and our

blessing is greater when we give.

243. Act 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Turn from darkness and from Satan, to light of Jesus, and have faith in Him – when our eyes

are opened, we turn from evil and receive forgiveness of sins and inherit eternal life, we are

sanctified by faith in Christ, He is the light.

Book of 1 Corinthians

244. 1Co 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

1Co 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

84

A new covenant to honor Jesus sacrifice for our sins – the night Jesus was betrayed, the

evening of the Passover, Nisan 14th, we are to take bread and brake it in remembrance of His

broken body, and to take and drink from a cup of wine as a new testament of His spilled blood

sacrificed for our sins, and as many times as we do this act we do in remembrance of Him until He

returns. If we follow Jesus example to us we carry out this covenant in the evening of Nisan 14th

once every year at the appointed time, until the time that Jesus returns. Doing this is an action on

our part in remembrance of Jesus death and having death passing over us as a result of Jesus

dying for our sins. Passover now has a dual meaning.

Book of Revelations

245. Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

Christ when He returns comes suddenly, blessed are those that watch for His coming and keeps

himself pure – when Christ returns, He will come upon the world when it least expects Him, blessed

are those Christians that watch for His coming and that keep themselves ready by walking on the

path that He has directed.

246. Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Jesus is the beginning and the end, He gives eternal life to those that overcome – Jesus is the

only one by which eternal life is given, when we accept Him as our savior and follow the Words and

examples He left for us and endure to the end, then we become one of His Holy family. Jesus is our

Master. (the word God is mistranslated, in Hebrew it is Elohim, which in some instances means

God and in other instances means mighty one, chief, ruler, master etc. There is one and only one

God, who is the Father.)

85

247. Rev 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book

Jesus returns quickly, we are blessed when we keep the sayings of the book of Revelations –

when we keep the sayings found in the book of Revelations, we are blessed, as we then are

watching for Christ’s return and are keeping the directives that He gave to us, enduring to the end.

We are aware and watchful for the approaching end and His coming.

248. Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Jesus comes quickly and brings His reward with Him to those that are His saints – when Jesus

returns to rule and set up His government on earth, He brings rewards for His saints, both living and

dead, giving to each one according to the fruits he brought forth or the works that he laid up in

Heaven.

Overview Summary:

What specific examples did Christ give us to follow

The Sabbath

By His actions and example, Jesus kept the Sabbath as did His disciples even in teaching

the Gentiles. Recognize Jesus came to the Jews and not to the Gentiles. Jesus did not need to tell

the Jews to keep the Sabbath, He needed to show them to not be legalistic but to keep the laws in

their intent. Only some of the verses showing this are given below.

Jesus keeping of the Sabbath

Mar 1:21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

Mar 6:2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

86

Luk 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

Paul preaching on the Sabbath

Act 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

Act 13:27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

Act 16:13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

Act 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

The Holy Days

Again by His actions and example, Jesus kept the Holy Days as did His disciples even in

teaching the Gentiles. The Holy Days that are mentioned in their keeping are; Passover,

Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Pentecost, Day of Atonement, Feast of the Tabernacles and Last

Great Day. Note that First Fruits was kept by Jesus on Sunday Morning after His resurrection. The

only Holy Day not mentioned in the New Testament as being kept by Jesus or His Disciples is that

of the Day of Trumpets.

Jesus keeping of the Holy Days

Mat 26:18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

(Passover)

Joh 7:2 Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.

Joh 7:14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

(Tabernacles)

Joh 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man

87

thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

(Last Great Day)

Joh 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

(First Fruits)

Paul keeping the Holy Days

Act 20:6 And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.

(Unleavened bread)

Act 20:16 For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost

Act 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

(Pentecost)

Act 18:21 But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus. (Tabernacles)

Act 27:9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them, (Atonement)

Short Summary:

There are some constant themes that Jesus left for us to follow. The main lesson is that of

having our heart grow holy and righteous. We do this by putting the intent of the laws in our heart,

88

not being legalistic according to the Words of the laws. In order for our heart to work towards

becoming pure we need to have it grow in love towards God and then in love towards all others.

The main traits we are to develop in our heart are love, humbleness, meekness, serving, giving,

mercy, patience, longsuffering and forgiveness. By our actions in pleasing God, in this short life,

our faith will grow strong. It is with God being within us that allows us to grow and overcome the

world. We are His children and by following Him and doing His Will, we grow in spirit to become

like Him. We are to live by every Word that comes from God. Consider for yourself what it really

means to “live by every Word that comes from God”.

Jesus calls for us to repent and change, to become like little children with an open and

learning mind. As part of repenting we are to be baptized. We are to read and study the Bible and

to learn from the Word of God, that is from both the Old and New Testaments. We are to pray

directly to the Father, coming to Him through Christ. By praying we are to build a personal

relationship with God. Our focus in this life is to grow in a manner that God wants for us and to

keep our eye on our future of eternal life with God as his family of sons and daughters. Watch that

we do not get caught up with things in this present world. We are to follow the laws and

commandments and God’s Word as well as doing God’s Will. Keeping the commandments shows

our love towards God. The Words of the commandments were not changed from the time that they

were given in the Old Testament. We are to obey God and grow, which occurs by keeping an open

and receptive mind as we use careful reading of His Word combined with prayer and are guided

and directed by His Holy Spirit.

Jesus tells us that we can only come to Him when called by the Father. The Holy Spirit is

given to us when we believe in Jesus and follow His Word and example. By keeping God’s Word we

are given more understanding. We are told to keep the Passover and to partake in communion at

that time. We are to keep the Sabbath the way it was intended. We are to show love through

action, to help those in need, we are to build faith by action and the reading of God’s Word. We are

to build up treasures in heaven by our works and actions as we go forward. We are to endure to the

end, to watch what words come out of our mouth, to fast, to give offerings and alms. To watch and

pray always so that we are ready when Christ returns and that we recognize the signs of His return.

Jesus tells us that the way is not easy, when we start down the path, we are not to look

back, we need to be totally committed. The path is a narrow one and many fall by the wayside. We

must persevere to the very end, we must not look back once we take Christ on.

Jesus and His disciples by their actions kept the Holy Days as recorded for us in the New

Testament written under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Since nearly all of these Holy Days are

recorded for us, logic tells us that all were kept. Prophesy was fulfilled by Jesus in the First 3 Holy

Days (Passover, Unleavened Bread and First Fruits), it was partially fulfilled by the disciples at

89

Pentecost. The other Holy days will likely be fulfilled by future prophesy. We have been shown by

example to keep the Holy Days, they are in the Old Testament as given, by the Son of God in the

role of mediator, as being forever. They are God’s holy Days, not those of the Jews or Gentiles. The

first Holy Day given in Leviticus is the weekly Sabbath, the others that follow contain an annual

Sabbath.

When we follow Jesus we are to become His disciples, to work towards bring others to Jesus

as best we can, to use what talents God has given us to His glory. God works through us to do His

Will, we need to recognize the opportunities and walk the path that God lays out before us and to

do our best with a joyful heart and a serving humble attitude.

Consider this, we are clearly told to follow and do what Jesus told us and showed us by His

example. Jesus kept the Law, He showed us the manner in which to keep the Law, placing the

intent in our heart. He showed us to keep the Law with love to God first and then second love to

our fellow men. We are told that Love to God and Jesus is obedience to the Law, not some warm

fuzzy feeling. Jesus kept the Holy Days, He kept the Sabbath, He kept obedience to God the Father,

He showed us His love for our fellow men by laying His life down for all our sakes. Pay special

attention to Mat 5:18, Jesus tells us that the Law (Torah) is in effect until heaven and earth pass

away, that includes the weekly Sabbath, the Holy Days and many other directives. That scripture

means they are in effect today. If you do not keep the Law (Torah) as shown to us by Jesus and

follow Him, what excuse do you have ?

When ever you doubt something that is not clear to you, look to Jesus and do what he told

us and showed us by His example. Follow the Messiah. Jesus sayings and actions take precedence

over all other scripture in the Bible, to us it is always a default in following. There are not conflicts

with other scripture only a lack of understanding on our part. Be very careful on what you might

think Paul is saying. One cannot go wrong following and obeying Jesus sayings and examples.

“ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord”.
