Jaggies? How to fix them

Rotoscoping

Part 1: I explain how rotoscoping works in Avid FXPart 2: Using an example of myself walking forwards through a Title, I explain, step by step, a simple example of the use of rotoscoping. In the tutorials you will have to be at home with Spline objects and how to create and adjust them. I do not go into any great detail about this in this set of Tutorials, as I have already covered this in more detail in two other Tutorials. If you have my 10_01 Tutorial on Making a Reveal Route map, you already have a description available.Otherwise I have a very detailed Tutorial on Boris TV, which can be viewed for free! You can find it at http://www.borisfx.com/videos/RED/Spline-Objects.phpPart 3: Getting a little more complicated I show how I use rotoscoping to reach over a Title, grab it and then move it around the screen. In this part I explain how to use a tracker to lock the Title to my hand movements.Part 4: Explains in some detail how you can tweak your tracker results and correct mistakes it may have made in following your object.

was inspired to do some research on a function that might or might not exist in Avid DVD after I read a question in a thread on the Avid Community Forums. It was a question about Chapter points and Avid DVD.In fact, to be more precise, the question asked if it was possible to make “buttons” that would playback a specific chapter and then Return to the chapters menu at the end of the chapter.

The long and short of it is that I did indeed find a way to achieve the desired effect. In doing so I discovered a few new functions in Avid DVD that I had never noticed before. The whole procedure revolves around the use of the Trim Tool in Avid DVD (DVDitPro HD)

Not surprisingly, many people regard Avid FX as a plug-in to Media Composer. Strictly speaking it is only the “link” between MC and Avid FX that is plugged into the AVX engine in Avid. Avid FX is a fully fledged titling and compositing application
