We require Sulfur to live. Sulfur is used to build proteinsand detoxify many substances. Sulfur, in the form ofcholesterol-sulfate may play an important part in theoperation of our hearts and brains

A diet high in meat and animal products may supply tooMUCH sulfur and result in the loss of calcium and anacidic ph. A diet low in meat and animal products may notsupply enough Sulfur. Suboptimal Sulfur levels can be aproblem for many people. This may result in suboptimaldetoxification because sulfur is a key element in thesulfation and methylation detoxification pathways.

Sulfur is found in meat and animal products, freshuncooked, unprocessed foods, cruciferous vegetables.legumes, onions, garlic, cabbage, Olive oil, coconut oil,and Brussel sprouts.

Epsom Salt is an excellent inexpensive source of bothmagnesium and sulfur.

"Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) is a gaseous byproduct(frequently remarked to be the causative smell ofeggs[41]) that appears to act as a signallingmolecule, similar to Nitric Oxide in the sense that itpromotes vasorelaxation of blood vessels (althoughthe mechanism is by stimulating KATPchannels[42][43]) and has anti-oxidative capabilities.A circulating H2S pool of 10-100uM exists in thehuman body[44][45] although higher (130uM) hasbeen reported in healthy persons. ... At the outset,H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) appears to be a heart healthy(cardioprotective) signalling molecule that is derivedfrom a circulating Cysteine pool; Cysteine remains instorage in the body, and serves to buffer a pool ofH2S that preserves physiological functions" VeryComplete Composition and Characteristics of Whey Note Whey can be a convenient and cheap vessel ofdietary L-Cysteine

“In Europe patients with arthritis are routinely givenglucosamine and chondroitin to stimulate the growthof new cartilage, stemming the progression ofosteoarthritis and even reversing it. Some Americandoctors and patients are now using these nutrientswith incredible success.” Jean Carper

Sulfur is essential for both prevention and treatment forboth osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Proteoglycans form a matrix through the joint collagenand are essential as they hold many times their ownweight of water, which both lubricates and nourishes thejoint. An essential component of proteoglycans is sulfur. Ifyou are low on sulfur Doctor Stephanie Seneff PhDposits your body may steal sulfur from your joints formore critical uses thus contributing to arthritis.

Sulfur is Found Mostly in Animal Products

"Sulfur is derived almost exclusively from animalprotein such as fish and high-quality (organic and/orgrass-fed/pastured) beef and poultry. Meat and fishare considered "complete" as they contain all thesulfur-containing amino acids you need to producenew protein. Needless to say, those who abstain fromanimal protein are placing themselves at far greaterrisk of sulfur deficiency." Doctor Joseph MercolaMD

IMO if you do not eat fish or red meat often Please makesure you eat some other animal products such as eggs,an excellent food. Lacking meat or animal products youshould assure a good sulfur source in your diet such asfound in some raw unprocessed UNCOOKED foods andMSM. Cooking food destroys much of the volatile sulfurcompounds.

Homocysteine is a source of sulfate. So everything is there and the intent is to producecholesterol sulfate and it's done in the arteriesfeeding the heart, because it's the heart that needsthe cholesterol sulfate. If [cholesterol sulfate is notproduced]... you end up with heart failure." DoctorStephanie Seneff PhD

“As a quick summary, when you expose your skin tosunshine, your skin synthesizes vitamin D3 sulfate. This form of vitamin D is water soluble, unlike oralvitamin D3 supplements, which is unsulfated. Thewater-soluble form can travel freely in yourbloodstream, whereas the unsulfated form needsLDL (the so-called "bad" cholesterol) as a vehicle oftransport. Her suspicion is that the oral non-sulfatedform of vitamin D may not provide all of the samebenefits as the vitamin D created in your skin fromsun exposure, because it cannot be converted tovitamin D sulfate. I believe this is a very compellingreason to really make a concerted effort to get mostof your vitamin D requirements from exposure tosunshine, or by using a safe tanning bed (one withelectronic ballasts rather than magnetic ballasts, toavoid unnecessary exposure to EMF fields). Safetanning beds also have less of the dangerous UVAthan sunlight, while unsafe ones have more UVA thansunlight. If neither of these are feasible options, thenyou should take an oral vitamin D3 supplement.” Doctor Mercola speaking on the work of DoctorStephanie Seneff

“In a study of 120 coronary heart disease patientshalf took 1500 mg per day of chondroitin sulfate (CS).After six years four people in the CS group had died

“The decrease in cardiovascular deaths could bestaggering if larger numbers of the population tookChondroitin Sulfate.” Lester M. Morrison, MD,F.A.C.A.

"In summary, when you eat a diet high in fructoseand other sugars, it over-taxes your liver as it cannotproperly make cholesterol while simultaneouslyprocessing fructose (which it turns into fat). As aresult, you end up with impaired cholesterolformation, which can eventually lead to a cholesterol-and cholesterol sulfate deficiency. At that point, yourbody begins to form arterial plaque to compensatefor this deficiency, because your platelets canproduce the cholesterol sulfate your heart and brainneeds within that plaque. It's a sort of backupmechanism to maintain proper heart- and brainfunction.” Doctor Joseph Mercola MD commentingon the cholesterol work of Doctor Stephanie Seneff

"Doctor Seneff believes it's important to addresssulfate deficiency whenever you're suffering with achronic disease, including cancer and lymphoma. Inher opinion, eating sulfur-rich foods is part andparcel of the solution. Garlic is a very good source ofsulfur. Raw garlic is the most potent. According toDr. Seneff, you don't need to concern yourself withthe issue of sulfate transport because the garlic formof sulfur is very easy to transport. Your red bloodcells oxidize it to sulfate, and it gets into your bloodas sulforaphane. " Glyphosate-Treated WheatPromotes Celiac Disease

Doctor Stephanie Seneff PhD believes your heart andbrain BOTH require cholesterol sulfate to function. Thischolesterol sulfate is created by sunshine on your skin orin your blood stream in arterial plaque. Thus it ispossible that a FUNCTION of SOME arterial plaquemay be lack of sunshine. Incroyable but perhaps true.So folks get that sunshine, you KNOW you need it.

The coronary arteries, feeding blood into your heart isoften the site of arterial plaque. IMO this may indicate youmay not be getting enough sun and-or may have excesshomocysteine in your blood.

The carotid artery, feeding blood into your brain is oftenthe site of arterial plaque. IMO this may indicate you maynot be getting enough sun and-or may have excesshomocysteine in your blood.

Some sulfur is obtained from cysteine resulting from theconverted homocysteine. If the homocysteine is notconverted this may result in your heart and-or brainrunning low on the critical cholesterol sulfate.

Doctor Stephanie Seneff PhD on Sulfur Anabsolutely riveting discussion

Sulfur and Aging

"Overcooking vegetables, including cabbage, is oneof the best ways I know to rob vegetables of theirnutrient benefits; when it comes to cabbage thisincludes its sulfur-related benefits. I recommendabout five minutes (at most) for the steaming or"Healthy Sautéing" of raw cabbage. Prior to cooking,I recommend about the five-minute waiting period toallow sulfur-related changes to occur in the freshlychopped cabbage.” WHF

As we age we lose much of our ability to produce ourinternal sources of sulfur as from sunshine. For examplewe know a 70 year old man needs about three to fourtimes as much sunshine as a 20 year old man to producethe same amount of vitamin D. We also lose some of ourability to make bioavailable much of our raw ingestedsources of sulfur.

Why do we become more sickly as we age? Do you thinksulfur has something to do with it? You bet it does! Please work to assure you get sufficient sulfur. Theextremely bioavailable and digestible sulfur in EGGS andGARLIC is a great place to start; just make sure youUNDERCOOK those eggs.

Then make sure you get SUNSHINE; hours ofSUNSHINE; high noon SUNSHINE; SUNSHINE with NOchemical gunk on your thirsty skin.

MSM a Great Sulfur Source

“MSM, which is a metabolite of DMSO, and approvedfor use in humans, primarily impacts your health byreducing inflammation. It’s widely used as asupplement for arthritic conditions. Like DMSO, MSMalso appears to improve cell wall permeability, so itcan be used to help deliver other active ingredients.Perhaps most important, MSM helps protect againstoxidative damage.” MSM, DSMO, Sulfur and Health

MSM (See MSM Protocol) supplies high quality sulfur. Itry to take 3 grams of MSM five or so days a week andLOTS when I am having a detoxification problem. Nowwith the radiation detoxification scare I am taking it aboutevery day.
