The Friendly Labyrinth - become not lost but found!

The friendly labyrinth acts almost nothing like its formal predecessor. Instead of being intimidating and strict it is inviting and playful. Like the formal labyrinth it does have dead ends, but it is also made up from a variety of types of walls, with a range of elevation, natural media and transparency, allowing the visitor to peek through them. It encourages unexpected meetings between visitors, and interaction with the structure itself and gives the visitor an option to open and close segments of its curved walls or even add to the walls themselves.

Being made out of different screens the labyrinth will not stay the same over time. More fragile screens out of hazel may become more transparent, as they loose they leaves and deteriorate, while ones covered in living vegetation such as climbing plants and willow will grow denser. The labyrinth gets a life of its own, aided by some additional planting of willow during the fall after the exhi-bition. The aim is to work with only local biological materials. The labyrinth will change over seasons.
