When the interim leadership of Mudanda Old Students Association (MOSA), launched a nationwide campaign for a prize giving ceremony at their alma matter last term, many stakeholders subscribed to the idea. The first of its kind the ceremony created the ultimate opportunity for the convergence of all the relevant stakeholders in the development discourse of the school and the whole community at large.

Accordingly on the 30th of October all roads led to Mudanda Secondary School, in Buhera District for the watershed inaugural MOSA facilitated ceremony. By 0900hrs a sizable crowd had swelled around the school to witness the first ever speech and prize giving ceremony. The relevant responsible authorities, business partners and neighboring schools had all been invited. And soon the ushering team had gotten seized with receiving arriving guests and showing directing them to their seats. In the background of the hive of activity, a rare selection of zimdancehall and gospel genre pulsated

The seated crowd broke into cheers, whistles and ululations as Mrs Munorweyi the school head led the procession of teachers clad in their academic regalia to their seats. The SDC chairperson welcomed all the invited guests and handled all the relevant introductions. And so the Head took to the podium for her key note address.

The woman passionately chronicled the remarkable milestones the school had registered over the time she has been around. From infrastructure development to academic achievement her address profiled the remarkable success the school has registered since her arrival at the station at the school in 1994.

The school now has four classroom blocks, more than ten staff houses and just more recently a large administration block which is yet to be officially opened. Academically the school has registered phenomenal success as it is third in Buhera district in terms of the 2014 ZIMSEC results.
