Substations

VEO supplies medium and high voltage solutions to regional and main grids. The deliveries include control and protection systems as well as civil engineering tasks and equipment production. We have grown to become one of the largest suppliers of substation packages in the Nordic countries. Thanks to this growth, the number of projects and the extent of our supplies have increased significantly. We perform projects in ex-tremely diverse conditions and according to varying requirements. For instance, we have connected a wind farm to the grid in Hamnefjell, Norway, on the coast of the Arctic Ocean, and set up a distribution station in the Stockholm city center.

VEO has strong expertise in EPC projects. Our deliveries include intelli-gent control, protection and distribution solutions, all the way up to 400 kV. We select the most suitable products and solution to each project to meet our customer’s demands. VEO invests specifically in professional staff and versatile expertise for its operations. Projects are completed quickly and systematically and our customers receive the best value for their money.

The current trend is that network companies are investing heavily on improving the security of electricity supply. The old equipment and structure of the grid do not sufficiently meet the demands of modern energy maintenance. In addition, the increase of renewable energy will bring in more and more investments in the industry. We accept new challenges!

Savon Voima Verkko OySavon Voima Verkko Oy is conducting one of the largest electric grid improvement projects in its history in Iisalmi, Finland. VEO will supply two new substations to the project and modernize an existing station. The deliveries will use VEO’s standard substation concept. The almost complete state of these deliveries already when leaving the factory significantly reduces the amount of installation and testing time at the site. Every project is a turnkey delivery, from civil engineering work to automation system implementation. The medium voltage switchgear used is VEO’s own, Finnish-made VEKE switchgear.
