The STX818S is a compact, highpower subwoofer system containing a2242H patented Super Vented GapCooled™ 18" woofer in a front-loaded,vented enclosure. The enclosure isdesigned to present a minimum frontalarea. The system offers complete inputconnection flexibility for compatibilitywith a variety of cabling schemes. Arecessed, external switch allowsselection of either contacts +1/-1 or+2/-2.

The STX818S is equipped with atop-mounted, threaded, 20 mm socketthat can receive the optional SS4-BKpole. This adjustable height pole canbe used to mount speakers equippedwith standard 35 mm pole sockets andweighing up to 50 kg (100 lb). Thethreaded socket minimizes buzzingand rattling and assures that the polewill be secure and straight.

The enclosure is constructed of topquality birch/poplar laminate plywood,coated in JBL’s rugged DuraFlex™finish and is heavily braced tomaximize low-frequency performance.The attractive CNC-machined, 14-gauge steel grille is internally linedwith acoustically transparent cloth toprovide additional driver protectionand give a very professionalappearance. The rear of the enclosureis fitted with T-nuts which may beused to attach the optional WK-4caster kit.
