Maybe it’s just us…?
When we invested in Instagram, it wasn’t actually Instagram. It was a company called Burbn, and the idea was roughly to build a mobile micro blogging service.
Subsequently, Kevin noticed that while Burbn wasn’t taking off, the photo-sharing component of it was doing quite well.
As a result, he pivoted Burbn into Instagram…
Avon started selling books
Amazon disrupted it’s whole business model
Many of it’s competitors didn’t…
Heck… entire industries couldn’t change…
Amazon’s infrastructure now powers much of the web
