THANK YOU!why GIVE?

Every time you give, you are helping our whole church reach our community with the hope and life of Christ. Thanks for being a part of EGC’s mission to

release transformed people who transform lives. Your faithful giving makes it possible!

Jesus taught us that our hearts follow our treasure. (Matthew 6:21) Giving is the most visible measurement of the condition of our hearts.

Money is not evil. It’s the love of money that leads to every kind of sin. (1 Timothy 6:10) Money is not moral or immoral; its amoral. Money takes on the spirit and value system of its owner. The same gold that was used to fashion idols in Egypt was also used in the making of God’s mercy seat on the Ark of the Covenant. (Exodus 112:36) Our values are put right on our money.

Right on the money

God the Father spared no expense in offering heaven’s best—His Son, Jesus—as payment for us to be brought back into relationship with Him. A woman named Mary was so grateful that Jesus raised her brother Lazarus from the dead that she poured out an offering at Jesus’ feet that was extravagant. Gratitude fuels generosity. Giving is a “get to” more than a “got to”!

3Honoring God with the first 10% of our money is called tithing. When we take this step of obedience, the other 90% of our money comes under His blessing, protec-tion, and favor. (Malachi 3:11) Tithing is all about trusting. When we tithe locally, God brings increase, which enables us to give globally. (Proverbs 3:9) Prioritizing our money with a Kingdom order of tithing, sowing, saving, and then spending, positions us to have money serve us as we serve God.

The buck starts here

God said that He was so into seed, time, and harvest that He would keep that cycle around as long as the earth remains. (Genesis 8:22) Tithing is giving back to God what is rightfully His. Giving above 10% is like sowing seeds into fertile soil, which will multiply. What we release from our grip has the ability to increase by God’s favor and multiplication. (2 Corinthians 9:6)

LocaLTithing to our local church family is what positions us to aggressively build God’s Kingdom and carry out the mission He’s entrusted to us.

Elim Gospel Church (EGC) is on a mission to see our region transformed by the love of Jesus. We believe in caring for the last, the least, and the lost, and we are doing whatever it takes to reach those who still need to hear the redemptive message of the Gospel. Because God gave the extravagant gift of His Son, we believe in giving extravagantly. We believe generosity is a form of worship. We love to display our gratitude to God through tithes & offerings from the blessings God has placed in our hands.
