Water Security How important is water to your daily life and is

there an adequate supply for everyone?

Why is water so necessary for survival? Why can’t another liquid satisfy this need?

Is there a water crisis in the world?

What do you need to find out about a country before you can begin to address its water issues?

Each person should have 2-4 liters of water each day to drink. A liter is the size of the water bottle to the right.

20-50 liters of water is necessary each day for drinking, cooking, and cleaning.

How much water do you need to live?

1 in 6 people (783 million people) worldwide do not have access to clean water (World Health Organization and UN Children’s Fund)

There is a shortage of water in many parts of the world. According to World Health Organization statistics, over 1 billion people do not have easy access to water. There are 7 billion people in the world.

1) Form groups of 2-3 people 2) Together, complete a world map by identifying the
