year grades colleges will see. Final grades in the junior year make a big impression.

Register online at CollegeBoard.org or ACT.org

If you indicate which colleges are to receive scores WHEN YOU REGISTER, it is free. You have a 10 day grace period after taking the exam to send your scores. After that, you will be required to pay for EACH college the scores are sent to

Technical Schools (hands-on, direct instruction in a chosen field)

College & Career Exploration

➢ Explore Colleges➢What do I want from colleges? What do colleges expect from me?➢Visit campuses to develop a feel for “best fit”➢Attend college fairs➢Attend info sessions with college reps at CVHS

➢ Attend CVHS Junior Night with parents/guardians on March 20, 2019➢ Begin the application process for military service academies and ROTC

scholarships➢ Explore all scholarships available for juniors➢ Register with the NCAA if you intend to play a varsity sport in college➢ Plan senior courses with your parents and counselor➢ Explore career options and training/education required

Military Options Service Academies - start the process no later than the end of Junior

year. Attend Military Academy Night March 6th at Westfield at 7pm

Enlist - must be at least 17 years old and have a high school diploma. Each branch has own requirements. Recruiters visit Centreville during lunch throughout the year. Take the ASVAB on April 9th in the Lecture Hall!

ROTC - Reserve Officer Training Corps is a college program offered at more than 1,000 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U.S. Military. In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, cadets commit to serve in the military after graduation.

Register for CVHS College Visits

▪ Log into Naviance Student< Colleges< Research Colleges< College Visits

▪ Review the list of colleges and universities scheduled to visit CVHS this fall

▪ Click Register Now and print the confirmation page as your pass to attend the session

▪ Ensure that your teacher SIGNS THE PASS at least 24 hours in advance and is

aware of your scheduled visit

▪ Put the appointment in your calendar, show up on time, dress to impress, and be

ready with questions to demonstrate your interest and personality
