Study guides help you know the most important things on a test.

Best and Worse Study Places Best:Library. In a park with no noise around you.In a room with no distractions and on a desk.

Worst:In a crowded place. On the bus or in the car.Near a TV.In a restaurant or other food places.

Reading & Memorization TipsRead aloud while studying.Make notecards.Relate complicated information to other things to help you remember o make up a rhyme.Read some information a couple tomes, take a break, then say it without the paper.Highlight important information so when you read over it later you will remember it is vey important.

Test Taking StrategiesKeep a positive attitude throughout the whole test and stay relaxed.Dont try to cheat, any grade is better than a zero and worse consequences. When you first receive your test look over it to see the ones you know and calculate how long it will take you.Do the easiest problems first so you have time for the harder ones later.Dont rush and read the questions carefully.

Organization Strategies Keep separate binders for each classPack your backpack every night before school so that you will not have to worry about it in the morning.Dont wait till the assignment is do that day or the night before to start working on it.Keep a certain place for every thing you need for school, so that you are not losing stuff left and right.Make sure you manage your time wisely. If you have a paper do the night after a big football game make sure you are already done with the paper so you are not stressing that night and do not stay up all night working on it.

Study Skills Dos Study in a comfortable and quiet place.Take notes and write a summary of the important ideas as you read through your study material.Make sure you understand the material and dont just memorize everything.Study the most important information first.Study in a library because it is quiet, calm and you have information all around you.DontsDont start to study everything the night before the test.Dont study near a television or loud environments.Dont study on your bed or you will be tempted to sleep. If you are studying with another person make sure all you talk about is subject you are studying.Dont study in a dark environment.
