What is UIP?UIP is a one month academic and cultural exchange program at the University of Ulsan in South Korea in July. UIP is designed for foreign students who want to learn basic Korean language, culture, history, society and business.The program consists of lectures, excursions and field trips. Lectures will be conducted in English.As part of the program students will:

Estimated costs You pay regular U of R tuition & fees for BUS 408AB (3 credit

hours) As a participant from a sister university, you do not pay any fees for

accommodations at University of Ulsan and pre-arranged field trips. These are included as part of the program. (Students from non-sister universities would pay over US $2,000.)

You will be given vouchers to cover the cost of your daily breakfasts. You will be required to pay for your own lunches and dinners. You will be required to pay for and arrange your own airfare:

$1800-2200 (approximately) Other expenses: travel documentation (i.e., passport photos,

passport application, visa in needed), travel and medical insurance, personal expenses (i.e., shopping, entertainment, additional tours). Eligible students are advised to apply for the $1,000 International

Eligibility, requirements and creditA maximum of 6 students will be selected to participate.Minimum GPA of 70% (students with GPA’s between 68-70 may be considered – space permitting)U of R student in good standing (i.e., not on probation)Must register in BUS 408AB for Summer 2015 term. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive credit for BUS 408AB (3 ch). The pass/fail grade will be based on transcripts received from U of U after program is completed.

Course Dates & Travel Planning The course is in Korea from July 7 to 30 (inclusive). You must be there for the full program. You cannot arrive late or leave early.Plan to arrive on July 4 to 6th and plan to depart on July 31st to August 2nd

It is most convenient to fly to and from Busan/Pusan, Korea. University of Ulsan representatives will pick you up at the Busan/Pusan airport when you arrive.The program has a limit of 6 spaces. DO NOT BOOK flights until it is confirmed that you have been selected as a participant.Canadian citizens do not require a Visa to participate in this program. Non-Canadian citizens should contact UR International Office for assistance with visa applications.
