How does this public literature give Athenians, and us, an education in critical awareness? PHL 499: What were the nature- philosophers (phusikoi) aiming to learn, how did they differ from the Hellenic sages (sophoi), what happened when everyone moved to Athens, and did ethical thought really start with Socrates?
