Recognized for the high quality of their programs, UQAM’s École de langues (School of Modern Languages) and Formations linguistiques non créditées (Non-Credit Language Courses) are offering an immersive language experience.

This summer programme is not just about language – it’s about the city, its people, and its culture.

› You will take three types of language classes:

1. English in the City: focuses on situational language – language to use in Montreal whether it be with your host family, locals, or new friends

2. Discover Canadian Culture: addresses academic topics such as Canadian education, society, people, food, and nature all while perfecting your English

3. French in the City: introduces basic French vocabulary and expressions for simple conversations during your stay

› In three weeks, you will use two languages in their authentic setting.

› Language professors, UQAM student volunteers, and a programme coordinator will make your stay stimulating, fun, and stress-free.

What are the costs? › The programme fee is CAD $1,850 (plus applicable taxes) which includes registration, placement test, tuition, classroom materials, three themed lunches and a farewell reception, afternoon activities, weekend excursions, and OPUS transportation card.

› Students live with a local family. The homestay fee is CAD $1,000 (tax included) which includes airport transfers, private room, two students per family, and all meals.

› You must arrange your own flights and medical insurance.

What are the admission requirements? › English language skills minimum requirements: TOEFL ITP 460 / TOEFL iBT 48 / TOEIC 505 / IELTS 4.5

› No previous knowledge of French is required.

› This programme is for adult second language learners.

› Students should arrive on Saturday, August 1, 2020.
