Oxford Brookes curriculum includes:• Film history and genres• Film theory, analysis and criticism• Scriptwriting and story design• Film and video production management and practice• Film industry history, organization and finance

Classroom learning is augmented by guided film screenings; film festivals, including OXDOX Documentary Film Festival andthe International Black Media Festival; and guest lectures by noted film producers, directors and other media professionals.

Students gain hands-on production experience through dramatic and documentary film projects, utilizing state-of-the-artproduction facilities and equipment, including top-of-the-line HD cameras, lighting and sound equipment, photography andfilm studios, and digital editing suites with industry-standard software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Final Draft, etc.).

Oxford Brookes also offers a work placement option, in which students have the opportunity to work with film industryprofessionals on a variety of projects. Partners have included London’s famed Pinewood Studios, the British Film Institute,the BBC and others. Such experiences allow students to acquire inside knowledge of the film industry and establish avaluable network of professional contacts.
