This guide is for students participating in a study abroad program through their home university for a period of more than 90 days.

Please note that the PASTEL system works best with: a PCMozilla Firefox

What is Campus France?

Campus France operates 145 "Espaces" and 63 branches in 114 countries.The main goal of Campus France's offices abroad, called "Espaces," is to coordinate services for international students interested in studying in France, from the initial gathering of information right up to the point of preliminary enrollment.You can choose one of Campus France offices where you reside or study at now, then submit your application and get an appointment at this office.

Before you begin

a scanned copy of your Gaokao(for Chinesestudents) or SAT(for International students if have) transcript, acceptance letter from your Higher Education College, transcript of your post secondary education and certificate of study(in Bmp, Jpeg, Gif, Png format and less than 300 KB)

a copy of your resume

your passport number

a passport type picture that is in Jpeg formatand less than 50 KB(300 DPI, 26*32mm)

Make sure you have :

Take the time to fill out the PASTEL application thoroughly and correctly. Please keep in mind that your PASTEL application will be viewed by the Campus France team as well as the visa section at the consulate.

Once your PASTEL application has been validated and submitted, you cannot make any changes.

Step 2: Click on “Register for PASTEL” to create an account

Step 3: Click on the link sent to your email address within 24 hours

Open the email and click on the link within 24 hours in order to continue filling out your PASTEL application.

Once you click on the link you will be taken to the Personal Information section

This message notifies you that your account has been created An email has been sent to the email address you used to create your account

Step 4: Fill out every field

Date of birth, be sure to use the following format: day/month/year

If you do not have a Chinese passport, choose another form of ID.

Enter your permanent or school address (this is the place at where you will submit application to Campus France and not be allowed to change.)

Be sure to include your area code

Select 中文

Warning: You will not be able to change any of the information after you click on “确认”

Step 5: Write down your Campus France reference number

Don’t forget to write down your Campus France reference number!

Click “se connecter” to access your account

Step 6: Complete the Campus France form

Click “Campus France 表格”

After you finish the Personal Information section, you will receive the following message. You must now complete the Campus France form section in your PASTEL application.

Step 6A: Complete the Education Section

In this section you will fill out information about your entrance exam for college and homeuniversity

To begin, click on the cross (⊕)

Click the “课程” tab

Click “高考”（All the students) and “Suivant”

Enter the year of your Entrance exam

For “institution” or “other institution,” enter the name of your home school

You will be taken to the following screen

Fill out every field and then click “Suivant”

Entrance exam for college

CountryProvince

CityType of Senior High School: private, public, etc.

Fill out related information about your Entrance exam, e.g. type of exam, year of exam, etc.

Leave blank

In this section you need to upload a scanned copy of your entrance exam transcript.Reminder: It must be in Bmp, Jpeg, Gif, Png format and no more than 300 KB.Click on the cross (⊕) and follow the prompts. Then click on “保存”

Fill out every field and upload your entrance exam transcript. Then click “保存”

Choose subject or click on the cross (⊕) to add your course name

Click “高等教育” and “Suivant”

Enter the current school year

For “institution” or “other institution,” enter the name of your home university

Choose“Bulletin Bac+2”

You will be taken back to the following screen

Fill out every field and then click “Suivant”

Post Secondary Education

Choose the grading system used by your home university

Fill out the option that best corresponds to your field of studyEnter your GPA

In this section you need to upload a scanned copy of your acceptance letter, transcript, certificate of study .Reminder: It must be in Jpeg format and no more than 300 KB.Click on the cross (⊕) and follow the prompts. Then click on “save”

Fill out every field and upload your acceptance letter, transcript, certificate of study. Then click “保存”

Choose number of semesters

Click on the cross (⊕) to add your course name and related information with this course

If you do not have one of the scholarships listed, choose “选择”

You will be taken back to this page

Fill out the section below and click “确认”

Choose “选择”If you do not have any Graduation Certificate of Post Secondary School in France, choose “选择”

If you do not have any test certificate for French, choose “选择”

Step 6B: Complete the Linguistics Skills sectionClick the “语言” tab

If you have been to France, click on the cross (⊕) and fill out this section

Do not fill out this section unless you have taken a French test, such as the TCF, DELF, DALF

Select the response that best responds to your situation (level of French, number of hours of French instruction etc…)， if you haven’t learned and took a test of French, please select the response about your English ability (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, GRE, GMAT, this is mandatory process, if you haven’t got one valid certificate of the above listed English tests, please start NOW.)

Click “确认”

Step 6C: Complete the Goals section

Please upload a picture, make sure it is a passport type picture that is in Jpeg format and less than 50 KB(300 DPI, 26*32mm).

Copy and paste your resume here

Write one sentence for each section

Click the “动机” tab. Fill out this section and then click “确认” at the bottom of the page

Leave this section blank.This part is not required for study abroad students.

Step 6D: Validate your Campus France formStep 1: Click on the 4th tab

Step 2: Check that each section is complete（“完整”）. If one part is incomplete （“不完整”）, go back and enter the missing information.

Step 3: Click “确认”

IMPORTANT: A message will then appear asking you to fill out the My Procedures section. Do not fill out this part.

Step 4: After you click“确认”, a notice will be sent to you that your Campus France Form has been well submitted and you can’t do any change. Please click “OK”!

Step 7: Send us the following documents

After validating your PASTEL application, you must send us by postal mail:

Please do not send them separately. Be sure to include your Campus France reference number (CNXXXXXX) on your payment receipt.

Step 8: Pay the fee in the bank

Use the following information:

Please pay the fee in one of the Bank of China.

Step 9A: Login Pastel System to Fill in the Payment Notification (付款申明）

Step 1:Click “支付材料费”

Choose “转账” and click “确认”

Choose “材料费”

Step 9B: Login Pastel System to Fill in the Payment Notification (付款申明）

Choose the date you pay the fee, payer name, address of the bank, name of your drawee bank.

Click “保存”

About 5 to 8 work days after Campus France has received your fee and postal mail, a Campus France representative will review your file. If all of your file (acceptance letter and payment receipt sent via postal mail, AND online Campus France form, etc.) is complete, the item “收取书面材料” and “付款” will turn from red to green (this will take at least TWO months).

Please note: Any missing materials (money order or acceptance letter) or an incomplete online PASTEL application will delay the process. Check your Campus France inbox regularly to see whether you need to take action.

Step 10A: Book your Interview Regularly check your PASTEL for your confirmation status and proof of

payment(5 to 8 work days).

Check whether your status has turned from red to green

Step 10B: Book your Interview

After your “收取书面材料”and “付款”turn red to green, click “预约CampusFrance 面试” to book your appointment.

Please choose the suitable time and your interview site (for example, Campus France in Shanghai).

Step 11: Go to the Interview and Submit your Original Document Packet

Your ID card (both sides of your ID card) Your passport Acceptance letter from NYU Paris you uploaded Your transcript certificate of entrance exam for college, e.g. Gaokao for Chinese students

(including name, exam number), SAT for some international students. Admission notice from NYU Shanghai Transcript for every semester from NYU Shanghai Certificate of Study Authentication report (In English) of your study certificate or transcript of your college by

Please check your ORIGINAL documents CAREFULLY before you go to your interview and MUST be on time. During the interview, you will be asked some questions about your plan for the future, your goals of traveling to France, etc. After your interview finished, you will get a certificate which will be presented when you apply for your visa in France Visa Center.
