• Increased applications from 15,368 to 18,422 (20%).

• Registered 23,310 for Fall 2006 for an increase of 5.64%

• Awarded over $11.3 million in Pell Grants to 3,600 SCC students.

• Lowest official Financial Aid loan default rate within the Los Rios District, 5.6%.

• Administered assessment tool using Accuplacer to 18 area high schools.

• Assessed 6,379 prospective students using Accuplacer placement for math and English.

• Made 58 high school visits and met with 1,170 prospective students.

• First time recent high school graduates come from 22 feeder high schools, and 38 non-feeder high schools in the greater Sacramento region.

• Made 49 community agency visits and met with 1,349 prospective students.

• Increased participation in the annual High School Counselor Conference by 60% (125 to 200 attendees) and highlighted 11 vocational programs.

• Increased student participation in the Summer Bridge program (a high school transition program, a new male academy and California High School Exit Exam Bridge program. )

• Served over 1,119 DSPS students unduplicated count (a 28% increase over the 2004-05 year)

• Increased learning disabled population by 32% from 214 in 2004/05 to 314 in 2005/06.

• Increased DSPS count for the fall of 2006 is already more than that of all 2005/06 at 1,185.

Student Success• Increased the number of student contacts in

Counseling from 17,362 to 17,989 by 4%.

• Implemented Electronic Education plan software to assist students in educational goals

• Increased the number of students who completed educational plans by 20%.

• Held Transfer Day with over 1700 student participants and over 80 colleges and universities.

• Provided 1076 internships for 341 SCC students in over 95 district wide fields or majors

• SCC ranked 14th in the State for number of students transferring to UC

• Counseled and intervened 190 first year student athletes with an 88% completion rate of transferable units

• Held Career/Job Fair with 1750 student participants and over 77 employers represented

• Assisted 5,649 students with health office services

• Recruited and served over 200 international students from 45 countries

• Assisted in the placement of 669 students for on-campus student employment requests

• Assisted 34,938 students seeking employment utilizing Job Connections

• Expanded and enhanced the Early Assistance Program to decrease attrition:

-489 Students referred by faculty

-1,710 first time students contacted

• Held 20 Cultural Awareness events which 2,100 students participated.

• Participation of 5% of all students in leadership activities (clubs, student government) through Student Leadership & Development Program

• Provided for 12,000 students in five campus events (Welcome Day, Arts & Crafts Faire, Homecoming, Club Day, and  UTP Election) through Student Leadership & Development Program

• Provided  voter registration and election-related materials for 250 students during the fall semester

Teaching and Learning

• Created Student Learning Outcomes workshops for Student Services with over 30 staff attending the first workshop.

• Coordinated and taught 55 Human Career Development sections for approximately 1,210 students.

• Provided in-class tutors to assist students in Basic Skills courses.

• Increased the number of students enrolled in work experience program by 30%

• Coordinated National Depression Screening day, National alcohol screening day and National Eating Disorder Screening day for approximately 300 students

• Proctored over 3,054 DSPS exams which amounted to over 4,159 hours of time

• UTP Elections Successful:

– SCC carried the majority of votes within the district.

– Distributed over 11,000 SCC students received UTP Transit stickers for Fall 2006
