Terms and Conditions

1. The Student Leadership and Achievement award is open to students who hold leadership positions AND/ OR have outstanding achievements in or out of their

school context.

2. Applicants who have not reached the age of 25 before the date of application are eligible to apply.

3. Applicants must have submitted their Application for Admission forms and paid the application fee and admission deposit before they can be considered for

the Student Leadership & Achievement Award.

4. Applicants may apply for more than one MCKL scholarship / financial aid at any one time but will have to choose only one if more than one award is offered.

5. Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview. Notification of the date, time and venue of the interview will be done via e-mail and SMS. Failure

to respond to the e-mail or SMS by the prescribed deadline will result in the offer being withdrawn.

6. Successful applicants will be informed at least one week before the commencement of the semester.

7. Successful applicants are required to pay the first semester fees in full upon acceptance of the award before the commencement of the semester.

8. The award will be disbursed on a semester by semester basis. The final disbursement will be distributed upon the successful completion of the programme.

9. Students who have not fully settled their semester fees are not entitled to any scholarship reimbursement in the subsequent semester.

11. Recipients must not be on any scholarship, financial aid or sponsorship from any registered organisation at the time of application. Should they accept any

scholarship, financial aid or sponsorship for their studies in MCKL from any registered organisation, they are obliged to inform the Registrar in writing of the

source and amount of the award within two (2) weeks of the award date. The College reserves the right to adjust the quantum of the MCKL scholarship received.

12. To maintain the award, the recipient is required to achieve a minimum GPA of 2.20 (ADTP, A Level, AUSMAT, DECE) or an average of 55% (CAT internal,

ACCA external) regardless of the quantum.

a) In the computation of GPA, the internal exam marks for A Level German Language subject will be included.

13. All scholarship recipients are expected to achieve at least 80% attendance at the Student General Meetings and participate actively in the activities organized

by the College.

14. All scholarship recipients are required to pass Service Learning and Character Formation subjects in order to maintain the scholarship.

15. In the event that the recipient withdraws from the programme, is suspended or expelled by the College, at any point of time, before the completion of the

programme, this award shall automatically be revoked.

16. Any refund of fees is subject to the Terms and Conditions as stated in the Student Handbook.

17. The College reserves the right to involve recipients in interviews, advertisements, photography or publicity-related activities for the purpose of promoting

MCKL as a leading education institution.

18. This award is given at the sole discretion of the College. Applicants are not guaranteed approval of the scholarships upon fulfilling the conditions set.

19. This award is only valid for the duration of the programme enrolled and does not cover the extension of the programme beyond its minimum duration.

20. This award is not transferable or redeemable for cash and does not include external examination fees (if applicable) or text books.

21. Methodist College Kuala Lumpur reserves the right to amend any of the terms and conditions as well as this award at any point in time as and when it is

deemed necessary.
