Stricture of the esophagus is one of the causes of dysphagia complaints. Around 30% of complaints of dysphagia is caused by narrowing of the lumen of the esophagus. Dysphagia is a subjective sensation of going organic abnormalities during the passage of liquid or solid food from the mouth to the stomach. Stiktur esophagus based on the cause can be divided into malignant and benign esophageal strictures. Especially malignant esophageal strictures caused by malignancy of the esophagus, but also can be caused by malignancy outside the esophagus. whereas benign esophageal strictures caused by various causes such as Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), caustic substances / corrosive, post-anastomosis of the esophagus, post-radiation and chronic esophagitis.
