Is now easier to use Teachers no longer have to create their own
assessments Interim Benchmark (IBM)assessments have
been created for them for each tested benchmark.
Multiple benchmark assessments (MBA) were created to target District wide winter diagnostic areas of concerns and provide practice for the FCAT.

Time Saver
Requested by teachers
during Instructional reviews!
Interim Benchmark Assessments – IBM’s
Reading◦Grades 3 – 10◦At least one test per benchmark◦5 questions per test
Mathematics◦Grades 3 – 8, Algebra 1, and Geometry
◦One test per benchmark◦5 – 6 questions per test
6
Multiple Benchmark Assessments – MBA’s Reading
◦ Grades 3 – 10◦ Three Passages◦ Minimum of 3 benchmarks assessed◦ Benchmarks grouped by compatability◦ 13 - 15 questions per test
Mathematics◦ Grades 3 – 8, Algebra 1, and Geometry◦ 10-15 questions per test◦ Assessments were created based upon the district’s winter
diagnostic area of concerns – or -content/skills and the number of objectives contained in each benchmark – or – foundational benchmarks needed to master tested benchmarks. (gaps)
◦ Ex. Fractions test of its own (I benchmark). Ex Algebra created test on Linear equations and a test on inequalities (Over 60% of the EOC)

Science◦ Elementary
IBM assessments by big ideas MBA assessments based upon district diagnostic
needs◦ Middle School
IBM assessments by chapter MBA assessments based upon big ideas
◦ High School IBM assessments by chapter
Science IBMs and MBAs

All Test Codes have been assigned by the district to all students in the district.
Teachers DO NOT have to assign the test to their class/periods.
Teachers give their student the test code – student logs into CORE K12 – student inputs test code – student takes test.
Results will automatically go to the teacher
Extremely Easy!!!
Teacher Requested – Time

To access the test codes you will need to click onto the West Area Capacity Team web Site.
An electronic flyer with the link on it will be sent to you via e-mail.
You can forward the flyer to your teachers. They simply have to press the control button and click the link and they will access the test code web site.
Only district personnel can access the web site

Students need to take the IBM’s or MBA’s on a computer◦ If computer labs are not available, students can
take the test (paper/pencil) then log their answers into the computer in their classrooms
◦ Use CORE K12 as a center (Rotation)
Teachers and Administrators should use CORE K12 to progress monitor student achievement
CORE K12 Best Practices
49
Principals should give all teachers their user name and password to access CORE K12
Principals are the only ones who can access and provide their teachers with their CORE K12 passwords.
Make sure all teachers log into Core K12 – During LTM – Professional Development Day breakout session
Principals can contact Dr. Carla Kendal if they need their CORE K12 password

Florida Achieves(FOCUS)◦ Provided by the state◦ Every tested benchmark in Reading , Math , and
Science has two benchmark assessments.◦ This tool can be used to progress monitor tutorial◦ This tool can be used for homework◦ The attached link will connect you to a link on
