We conducted an opinion poll with students of std IX who felt
that we should celebrate festivals without bursting crackers and
without using loudspeakers. The students created an awareness in the vicinity of the school by way
of
“Street Play”

While bursting a cracker, a child got injured.
A person in the car asked them to dance along the side of the road as he was
getting late for the airport. They did not move and started arguing.

An old lady came with her son, requested them to stop crackers and
loud noise of the drums.
The old lady succumbed to death due to the smoke emitted from firecrackers.

A Social Worker explained the harmful effects of crackers and playing loud
speakers.

A local doctor also enlightened the people on the hazards of bursting crackers and use of loudspeakers.

People from the Society were convinced by the Street Play and they supported
the approach i.e.“Dhamaka Bhagao – Tyohar Manao”
Participants pledged not to burst crackers and play loud speakers. They will celebrate festivals without sound
and fumes.
