and culturally responsive education.
Building level Attendance Teams should review their attendance data and align
interventions with building RtI Teams & PBIS Teams at each tier.
Provide resources for staff and families to identify the importance of attendance
and impact of absences.
Buildings will continue to access the District Attendance Manual for best practices
at all tiers.
Create a district-wide attendance message by engaging district staff in an
Attendance Awareness Campaign.

Residency
KEY FINDINGS: Steve Chatterton began to increase residency investigations in December, 2015. The cases
have been investigated by BOCES personnel, security personnel, and by utilizing public records.
Out of 16 cases investigated/completed since December, 8 were found not to be living in the district and 8 cases are still open. Some allegations have been unfounded and others have been found to be residing at an address out of the home school area they are currently attending. These families have been asked to attend their correct home school.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Identify the deficiencies in our current Shared Housing requirements and improve the
documents families complete for the 2016-17 school year. Confer with legal counsel and compare with other district’s Shared Housing methods.
