SCHA launches Facebook Group and Digital Newsletter to Expand and Enhance Community Communications SCHA Facebook Group Do you want the latest information on community events such as the Ice Cream Social, Garage Sales, Halloween Party, etc? Are you having a Block Party and need volunteers? Looking for bridge partners, a play group, or book club? Need help finding a babysitter? Looking for recommendations for a plumber, handyman, landscaper, etc? Need your snow shoveled? Welcome to the newest addition to SCHA Communications: the SCHA Facebook Group! SCHA residents and volunteers Cristina Mullen and Lisa Pieroni have created a SCHA Facebook group for our Stonehedge Community. Taking a page from other Wheaton neighborhoods with very active Facebook groups, Cristina and Lisa have tested the waters and have found enthusiastic interest for this, convenient, interactive and secure communications tool. The SCHA Facebook Page is organic and will evolve as the need arises;sections will come and go and new ideas are always welcome. The SCHA Facebook is open to the adult head or heads of each SCHA household. It will adhere to the general rules of congenial and cooperative living and act as a friendly forum of, and for, a helpful, caring and responsive community. Please note, you need to have a Facebook account to join the SCHA Group. The SCHA Facebook Group will be a closed, secure group that will be closely monitored for content by five administrators who are part of the SCHA Communications Team: Cristina Mullen, Lisa Pieroni, Pat Hanika, Anita Warren, and Diane Jeremias. Lisa and Cristina are the “gatekeepers” and responsible for approving new followers based on their SCHA residency. Try it out! Send an email request to Lisa Pieroni at [email protected] or Cristina Mullen at [email protected] and they will send you a Facebook invite to the SCHA Group. We look forward to communicating with you on our SCHA Facebook page! Digital Newsletter Beginning with the May-June Newsletter and throughout 2015 we will be transitioning to a digital delivery system for the SCHA Newsletter. By distributing our newsletter to you via email you will receive the newsletter in a timelier manner Digital communication is not new for SCHA. We already send eBlasts to remind residents of upcoming events and we have a comprehensive and resourceful website: SCHAwheaton.com. Like the eBlasts and Facebook Group, the Digital Newsletter will be sent via a secure distribution system protecting residents’ emails. Your email address will not be shared and will not be visible to anyone else when the eblast is sent. All SCHA residents are invited to join this digital evolution. If you sign up to receive a digital version of our newsletter, you will no longer receive the paper version on your doorstep. The key to making this transition successful is the Block Captain and resident working together. Your Block Captain will be contacting you in March to obtain, or confirm your email on file. Email delivery will continue to “roll out” as Block Captains complete their neighborhood canvassing. While we expect many of you will join the growing group opting for digital, we also understand that some may prefer to continue receiving a printed newsletter. So, the printed version will also be available, creating sort of a “hybrid” delivery system. When you hear from your Block Captain via a knock on your door, a phone call or an email, please let them know if you prefer Print or Digital delivery. Block Captain Appeal We are also sending an appeal to those reading this newsletter to read the Block Captain appeal item in this newsletter and help us identify someone who can assume the role for several routes that do not a Block Captain. The good news is that residents (for whom we have email addresses) on those routes WILL receive digital issues, unless they opt out. Those who opt out of digital delivery will cease getting the digital as well as the printed newsletter. Fortunately they will be able to access it on the community’s website: www.schawheaton.com and eventually on SCHA Facebook. We are very excited about the evolving communications for our community and are very thankful for your dedication to help us “roll it out!” Thank you! SCHA launches Facebook Group and Digital Newsletter to Expand and Enhance Community Communications

SCHA Facebook Group

Do you want the latest information on community events such as the Ice Cream Social, Garage Sales, Halloween Party, etc? Are you having a Block Party and need volunteers? Looking for bridge partners, a play group, or book club? Need help finding a babysitter? Looking for

recommendations for a plumber, handyman, landscaper, etc? Need your snow shoveled?

Welcome to the newest addition to SCHA Communications: the SCHA Facebook Group! SCHA residents and volunteers Cristina Mullen and Lisa Pieroni have created a SCHA Facebook group for our Stonehedge Community. Taking a page from other Wheaton neighborhoods with very active Facebook groups, Cristina and Lisa have tested the waters and have found enthusiastic interest for this, convenient, interactive and secure

communications tool.

Please note, you need to have a

Facebook account to join the SCHA Group.

The SCHA Facebook Group will be a closed, secure group that will be closely monitored for content by five administrators who are part of the SCHA Communications Team: Cristina Mullen, Lisa Pieroni, Pat Hanika, Anita Warren, and Diane Jeremias. Lisa and Cristina are the

“gatekeepers” and responsible for approving new followers based on their SCHA residency. Try it out! Send an email request to Lisa Pieroni at [email protected] or Cristina Mullen at [email protected] and they will

send you a Facebook invite to the SCHA Group. We look forward to communicating with you on our SCHA Facebook page!

Digital Newsletter

Beginning with the May-June Newsletter and throughout 2015 we will be transitioning to a digital delivery system for the SCHA Newsletter. By distributing our newsletter to you via email you will receive the newsletter in a timelier manner

Digital communication is not new for SCHA. We already send eBlasts to remind residents of upcoming events and we have a comprehensive and

resourceful website: SCHAwheaton.com.

Your

Block Captain will be contacting you in March to obtain, or confirm your email on file.

When you hear from your Block

Captain via a knock on your door, a phone call or an email, please let them know if you prefer Print or Digital delivery.

Block Captain Appeal

We are also sending an appeal to those reading this newsletter to read the Block Captain appeal item in this newsletter and help us identify someone who can assume the role for several routes that do not a Block Captain. The good news is that residents (for whom we have email

addresses) on those routes WILL receive digital issues, unless they opt out. Those who opt out of digital delivery will cease getting the digital as well as the printed newsletter. Fortunately they will be able to access it on the community’s website: www.schawheaton.com and eventually on

SCHA Facebook.

We are very excited about the evolving communications for our community and are very thankful for your dedication to help us “roll it out!” Thank you!

Now is a great time to consider refinancing your mortgage as you could be saving money with lower interest payments. A little extra money never hurts, especially around the holidays.

If you can afford it you could always refinance to a shorter term mortgage which would give you higher monthly payments, but a lower interest rate and the benefit of paying off your mortgage faster.

Contact me today if you or your friends and family are in need of mortgage financing.
