  • Stockport Council Funding News

    September 2014

Welcome to the September 2014 edition of the Stockport Council Funding Newsletter. As usual it contains details of funds with upcoming deadlines that may be of interest to groups and organisations in Stockport. As you may know, Sean Dillon who previously produced the Funding News has now left Stockport Council for pastures new and I (Anil Mohindra) will be producing the Funding News. I would welcome any suggestions for topics to include and would welcome your input with new funds or examples of success you have had with funding. If you need any help or advice then the contact details are on the last page of this newsletter.

In this issue Grants for Young people Award for sustainable travel Hilton Community Foundation Triangle Trust Fund

A new Call for Proposals has been published under the EURES axis of the EU Programme for Employment and Social Innovation. The aim of the Your First EURES Job - Targeted Mobility Scheme Call is to contribute to the development of comprehensive mobility support services in the EU and EFTA/EEA countries, specifically cross border matching and placement services for young apprentices and trainees. Testing innovative ways to improve the integration of young candidates into the host country will also be supported. The goal is to place at least 1800 young people in jobs or work-based training in EU, EFTA/EEA countries other than their country of residence. A budget of 6.9 million is available. It is expected that large scale projects will be co-financed, with an average grant size being in the range of 3-4 million for up to 95% of eligible costs. As a minimum, 70% of the total eligible costs should be for direct support grants to young people and SMEs, and to finance other support measures such as preparatory training, mentoring support for trainees and apprentices, or a welcome one-stop-shop. Depending on their field of expertise, interested organisations may submit a proposal developing one or both of the following dimensions:

    Job placements

    Traineeship and/or apprenticeship placements

Projects should support and finance the following groups:

Young people (aged 18-35) willing to find a job, traineeship or apprenticeship and move to another Member State. Employers and SMEs in particular when these provide an integration programme for their newly-recruited young mobile workers, trainees or apprentices. Projects should be based on a consortium with a broad geographical coverage formed by at least seven EURES organisations (EURES members, EURES partners and associated EURES partners) which are based in at least seven EU EFTA/EEA countries. The deadline for applications is 15 October 2014 For further information go to: http://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?langId=en&catId=630&callId=415&furtherCalls=yes
