Sorrento restaurant and bar, is the latest addition to the Shangri-La New Delhi’s F&B upgrade and the cities emerging dining scene. Accessed from the spacious main lobby, Sorrento is designed to brief as a friendly and inviting space with a vibrant stand-alone personality. With a concept that centers on great wine and great food, the 120 pax main dining area boasts two open kitchens where the chefs can be seen hard at work, as well as engage with the guests, along with an island deli where you can choose your own cheese and cured meats from the vast selection on offer. The walls meanwhile are adorned with textured white brick and solid wood paneling with embellishments of traditional cooking accessories and Italian ceramic pottery, giving it the feel of a traditional Italian eatery.
If it’s atmosphere and an emphasis on slow cooked, family cuisine you’re after, Sorrento could well be the perfect choice.
Seamlessly linked to the natural hues of this unforgettable island, rustic-chic Frangipani is one of several unique restaurants and bars on offer at the Nurai Island Resort. Possessing a clean and minimal palette that makes the most of its stunning ocean views, both the restaurant and its mouthwatering menu are elegantly simple and irresistibly appealing. The entrance is framed by a ribbed, wooden structure that extends into the interior, leading the guest’s eyes towards the book-matched marble beyond, whilst intricately designed brass and wood screens create a sense of privacy without blocking those all important sightlines.
Clad in polished brass, the bar meanwhile offers the same stunning, views, reflected teasingly through strategically placed antique mirrors, which hang over the rich banquette seating. The main axis of the restaurant however is undoubtedly the central show kitchen and bakery, where chefs interact

with the guests and crates of suspended herbs add a pop of natural color to the theatre-like proceedings. As if that’s not enough there’s a choice to please every palate; from the extensive selection of perfectly seasoned steaks, to healthy breakfasts and twists on modern classics. For those seeking to indulge themselves, try the decadent, ricotta hotcakes with basil & honeycomb butter, perhaps on the outdoor seating beneath the shade of one of the venues namesake trees.
Grappa, the adjoining bar to Sorrento Italian restaurant in the Shangri-La Delhi, is a small and energetic space with an extensive beverage menu. Private banquette seating in the bar area is enveloped in a part woven tapestry, traditional to both Indian and Italian culture. The weft is held in place with heddle rods and front lit to highlight the expanse of the yarn. High top tables and wine display cabinets visually separate the bar from the restaurant while re-cycled oak barrels provide an ambient glow on the table tops.
Smart, stylish and with one of the best urban views available, Hotel Jen is set to become the benchmark for all future millennial focused hotels.

Every now and then a hotel comes along that changes the game completely. Hotel Jen is certainly one of them and it’s resetting the bar at a whole new level. Due to open in April 2017, this branded flagship for Shangri La and Chinaworld is set in the heart of Beijing’s thriving business district, with outrageous views across this bustling metropolis and interior design by Stickman Dubai HQ.
But what makes it so different? How about a business hub that reimagines the tired business center from the ground up? Or all-day-dining that integrates the very latest hydroponic technology to give the chefs complete control over what goes into your food? Not enough?
