Stewardship Reflections -- Sixth Sunday of Easter May 25/26, 2019 -In today’s Gospel we witness the last evening Jesus spends with his disciples before his death. He has already made it clear that his followers will show their love for him by serving others. To live that kind of love, they will need the active presence of God in their midst. Jesus tells his disciples that he and his Father will come and make their home with them. He also tells them that the Holy Spirit will be among them to teach them and remind them of all that Jesus had taught. Good stewards recognize that God is in their midst and that the Holy Spirit is guiding them. How often do we acknowledge God’s presence in our lives? How often do we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us? ________________________________________________________________________________ Sacred Heart Stewardship Regular Collection Thank you for your support and generosity! WE ARE STILL WITHIN THE EASTER SEASON!

BEHOLD, I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK. (REV. 3:20)

The Church is HOLY not because of anything her members have done, but because of what Jesus did on the Cross over two thousand years ago....and continues to do today through Her.

We cannot think about Jesus without thinking about the

Church and we cannot think about the Church without

thinking about Jesus. The Catechism says: The Church...is

held, as a matter of faith, to be unfailingly holy. This is

because Christ, the Son of God, who with the Father and the

Spirit is hailed as „alone holy, loved the Church as his Bride,

giving himself up for her so as to sanctify her; he joined her

to himself as his body and endowed her with the gift of the

Holy Spirit for the glory of God.” CCC 823

Jesus came to die for sinners, for everyone. He wants to heal

us spiritually and morally through his Church. In Jesus and

through the ministry of his Church, we are all (however broken and

imperfect) accompanying each other on our journey to eternal life. He

carried the Cross for us; he carried our rejections, judgments,

humiliations, loneliness and hurts. He carried it all so that we might

know and share in His strength and victory over death. At the Cross, he

THIRSTED (John 19:28). He THIRSTS for YOU!

Fr. Josh Johnson

Jesus is God, therefore his love, his thirst is infinite. He, the creator of the

universe, asked for the love of his creatures. He thirsts for our love...these

words: I THIRST...do they echo in our souls?” St. Teresa of Calcuta

¡TODAVÍA ESTAMOS DENTRO DE LA TEMPORADA DE PASCUA!

MIRA, YOU ESTOY LLAMANDO A LA PUERTA. (REV. 3:20)

llevaba nuestros rechazos, juicios, humillaciones, soledad y dolor.

" Santa

Teresa de Calcuta
