    Steps To Your Mandatory National Service

  • STEP ONE: Enrollment PIN

    NSS secretariat will generate an Enrollment PIN (personalIdentification Number) for you using final year class listobtained from your educational institution.

    As a prospective National Service Personnel, you arerequired to check with the students affairsoffice/students representative council/ office of the deanof Students at your institution to pick up your PIN.

    Enrollment PINs are usually released in February.

  • SSTEP TWO: Payment of Processing Fees &

    NASPA Dues

    Once you picked your PIN, proceed to anybranch of Agricultural Development Bank (adbbank) and pay your required enrollmentprocessing fees and dues (currently 40 GhanaCedis) in order to access the online registrationplatform. Note that without the payment youwill not be able to register for your mandatorynational service.

  • STEP THREE: Online Enrolment

    After payment of your processing fees, please log on towww.nss.gov.gh.

    Move your mouse cursor towards the Registration menu, click onthe Enrol submenu, which will open the online registration systemfor you to provide all the necessary personal details needed foryour postings. Please click on submit after completing the onlineregistration form, and print a copy of the receipt.

    The receipt will contain a unique NSS alphanumeric code that willbe used to identify you throughout your period of national serviceand beyond.

  • STEP FOUR:

    Deployment Once you have properly registered to be deployed,

    visit www.nss.gov.gh regularly for news aboutrelease of posting or deployment.

    According to the NSS posting schedule,announcements about deployment will not be laterthan June of the year.

    Deployment news is also often released to thepopular press and on social media platforms

  • STEP FIVE: Check Posting

    As soon as postings are released, you can checkfor where you will be doing your nationalservice by sending your NSS alphanumeric codevia SMS text on your phone to a shortcode to beannounced by NSS, and details of your postingwill show up on your phone screen immediately

  • STEP SIX: Appointment Letter

    Once you know where you are posted for yournational service, you can log on to www.nss.gov.ghclick on Check Postings.

    After following the required process online, yourappointment letter will appear on the screen ofyour computer.

    Print at least three (3) copies of your appointmentletter to complete the necessary processes forcommencement of your national service.

  • STEP SEVEN: Report @ The Regional Office

    With your appointment letters in hand, proceedto Region in which you will be doing yournational service and report at the NSS RegionalOffice for the Regional Director of the schemeto endorse your appointment.

  • STEP EIGHT: Report to Your User Agency

    From the regional office proceed to UserAgency where you will be doing yournational service for the head of thatinstitution to also endorse your appointmentletters to testify that you have reported asposted.

    It is important that the date of endorsementis indicated on your appointment letter

  • STEP NINE: File A Copy of Your Letter @

    NSS District Office Send the fully endorsed and dated letter to your

    district office.

    Give a copy of your endorsed appointment letter tothe NSS District Director to place on file in theoffice.

  • STEP TEN: Back To Your User Agency To Start

    Once your appointment letter is filed, you arerequired to return to your User Agency and startyour national service as required in Septemberof the year in which you were posted.

  • STEP ELEVEN: Monthly Duty Reporting Form

    Once you begin, you will be required everymonth to submit to your NSS District Office, aDuty Reporting Form endorsed by the supervisorat User Agency where you are doing yournational service.

    This form is designed not only to facilitate theprocessing of your allowances, but also to serveas a tool to obtain performance informationabout you from your supervisor.
