Stepping Into Internship Program - Position Description The Australian Network on Disability’s Stepping Into program is a paid internship scheme that matches talented university students with disability with roles in leading Australian businesses. Position Title Australia Post - Retail Supply & Logistics Intern Location Melbourne Position Duration A minimum of 152 hours (4 weeks full time, or part-time equivalent) Position Overview Business Unit Overview The Retail Supply and Logistics business unit’s strategic intent is to develop, re-engineer and deploy new processes to ensure we move towards world-class practice including, but not limited to, warehouse management, supplier arrangements, inventory management and appropriate stock holding policies. Key areas of focus include (and not limited to): Improve customer service and our end consumer shopping experience through improved product availability. Reduce retails cost of capital improving the bottom line. Transform operating costs as a percent of revenue towards single digit industry growth. Improve overall supply chain and reduce our overall ‘carbon footprint’. Position Overview

Business Unit Overview

The Retail Supply and Logistics business unit’s strategic intent is to develop, re-engineer and deploy new processes to ensure we move towards world-class practice including, but not limited to, warehouse management, supplier arrangements, inventory management and appropriate stock holding policies. Key areas of focus include (and not limited to):

Improve customer service and our end consumer shopping experience through improved product availability.

Reduce retails cost of capital improving the bottom line.

Transform operating costs as a percent of revenue towards single digit industry growth.

Improve overall supply chain and reduce our overall ‘carbon footprint’.

Position Purpose

The supply chain Intern will assist the Retail Supply & Logistics team in areas of process improvements and operational excellence to drive cost efficiencies and service uplift. This role will be required to work cross functionally with the wider supply chain team and/or other key stakeholders in Australia Post across the Retail Merchandise group, and the candidate is expected to:

Review and interpret supply chain datasets to problem solve issues

Communicate with key stakeholders to issues resolution

Create meaningful supply chain reporting dashboards

This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who is starting out in supply chain who is keen to learn the ropes in a large multi-national organisation and getting exposure to how the Australia Post retail business operates.

Critical Knowledge/Skills

Experience with MS office

Strong verbal/written communication skills

Strong time management skills

Ability to follow process

Confidence in working with multiple systems simultaneously

Ability to build working relationships with stakeholders and customers

Ideal Degree/Discipline

Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or similar degrees and disciplines

Eligibility Requirements

Second last or final year of a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree

Permanent residents and Australian citizens only

Identify as having disability

Candidates may be required to undergo a background check security clearance
