The Mission of the Coppell STEM Academy,
a focused, small-learning community
embracing a common vision, is to develop
strong learners with a passion for
designing solutions to meet human needs.
Mission
Instructors
The STEM Academy Summer Camps are
taught by the CHS Engineering instructors
you will have in class next year. The camps
will also be staffed with previous STEM
Academy learners.
STEM Summer
Enrichment Program
The summer does not need to be a time where knowledge
is lost and excitement dwindles. Too often, learners lose
focus and interest from the long months spent away from
school. While we all can
use a rest, tools become
rusty and dull if they are
not used.
Keeping kids interested is
the goal of the STEM Sum-
mer Enrichment program.
We offer CHS STEM Acade-
my learners the opportuni-
ty to continue to use their
math and science skills in
a fun, exciting and relaxed
environment. This is also
the perfect opportunity for students to get to know their
fellow STEM classmates. STEM learners will be spending a
lot of time together over the next few years. During the
camp, learners will work on team projects designed to not
only teach about engineering, but to also teach teamwork,
leadership, and cooperation.
In order to ensure that we have adequate staffing and
supplies on hand for you, we have to have your enrollment
fee by May 10, 2014.

hands-on manner

STEM Boot Camp
The STEM Boot Camp is an exciting day and a
half that is recommended for all STEM Acade-
my learners, new and returning. The camp
will offer incoming freshmen a chance to
become better acquainted with CHS before the
year starts. All of our learners will have the
opportunity to participate in a variety of de-
sign challenges, exciting demonstrations, and
a fun-filled kickoff to the school year. Lunch
will be provided on Friday. All learners and
their families are encouraged to attend the
STEM Family Picnic following camp on Satur-
day.
There is no late registration fee for Boot
Camp!

Introduction to SolidWorks
Learners will be introduced to the basics of
SolidWorks. In this camp, you will become
acquainted with SolidWorks and the three file
types: parts, assemblies, and drawings. This
camp lays the foundation for the SolidWorks
Certification camp. These basic skills must be
learned before beginning the certification
camp. This course is necessary before begin-
ning the SolidWorks Certification course.

SolidWorks Certification (CSWA)
Having advanced skills in SolidWorks will bene-
fit learners working on advanced projects
such as the solar car and FRC robot. The
camp will take learners through the work
necessary to learn how to do parts and as-
semblies well enough to pass the Certified
SolidWorks Associate exam. This is an indus-
try test, so certification is not guaranteed, but
you will be on the right track.

LabVIEW Certification (CLAD)
Having advanced skills in LabVIEW will benefit
learners working on advanced projects such
as the solar car and FRC robot. The camp will
take learners through the work necessary to
learn how to do create LabVIEW programs
(Vis) well enough to pass the Certified Lab-
VIEW Associate Developer exam. This is an
industry test, so certification is not guaran-
teed, but you will be on the right track.
