Standard STEM students have the skills knowledge and thinking strategies that prepare them to be innovative creative and systematic problem-solvers in STEM fields of study and work
ST12 Students work independently
and collaboratively in an inquiry-
based learning environment that
encourages finding creative
solutions to authentic and complex
problems
ST13 Students are empowered to
personalize and self-direct their
STEM learning experiences
supported by STEM educators who
facilitate their learning
ST14 Students use technology
resources to conduct research
demonstrate creative and critical
thinking and communicate and work
collaboratively
ST15 Students demonstrate their
learning through performance-
based assessments and express
their conclusions through
elaborated explanations of their
thinking
ST16 The interdisciplinary
problem-based curriculum
includes a focus on real world
applications

Students in grade 3rd-5th attend Agri-science classes as a special area
rotation Students learn about a wide variety of agriculture topics such as
erosion farming in colonial America soil plants and animals
Portable Chicken Coop
Our students work cooperatively with students for our area high
school during class Extended Day and 4H club activities to
brainstorm and create practical items needed on the farm This
incorporates STEM activities in an applied and useful way
Students in agri-science use technology to research and
gain knowledge about assigned topics I support and
extend digital blended learning with my students as they
work in teams to create individualized projects to
demonstrate their understanding of key concepts using a
variety of digital platforms
I work with corporately
ESE teachers to develop
and apply STEM
learning activities
related to agriculture
