THE COLLECTION
Stella Nova’s autumn and winter collection 2013 is built around the story of the dachshund Otto traveling to the Wild West.
The silhouettes, materials, prints and artworks are all inspired by the dachshund Otto with strong references to the western universe.
There are humorous dog prints on silk dresses and jersey.Tight slim-fitting silhouettes are based on the dachshund’s characteristic
long sleek curved body.Similarly, the shaggy fur qualities, leather trim and shiny materials like
lacquer are clearly inspired by the dachshund’s shiny coat.An intarsia dachshund artwork on sweaters and a small hand-knitted
dachshund scarf helps to complete the story.As a twist to this story - is the story of the wild, Wild West - fringes on
leather and knitted ponchos as well as tailored cuts with references to Western shirts.
The colour story is subdued in darker tones, but with roasted brown, golden and ocher shades that draws attention to a burning hot, dusty and sunny afternoon on the prairie. Burnt yellow and electric red is a tribute
to the sunset which brilliantly lightens up the dusty prairie.In addition, all prints and artworks are unique and especially designed by the Stella Nova team to support the story and make the collection unique.
Likewise, many qualities are selected from Italian fabric suppliers and helps emphasizing the exclusive touch to the collection.
As always, humor and informality is an important part of Stella Nova’s universe.
The collections are always built up as a collage, with different images and worlds mixed together to form a new and different look.
One of the reasons why Stella Novas collections are special and unique is this eclectic way of
working.
