Why a license makes life easier Aboriginal people are two to three times more likely to die on Australian roads and 30% more likely to suffer a serious injury from a road crash than other Australians. Despite this, Aboriginal people are less likely to hold a current drivers licence than other Australians. Not having a licence limits mobility, restricts access to health and education services, reduces employment opportunities and further marginalises an already disadvantaged group.
