• Been struggling with accept criteria (different philosophy GOM & Europe)

• Have held several meetings to resolve issues and progress the document

• CD confirmed for late Nov. 2007• Awaiting input from GOM / API• Resource re-evaluation in August have had changes in

task group funding OK• Grey areas between documents has been identified and

will be clarified (Pig launch/service hubs and connectors)

• New project leader being confirmed (delayed by Statoil/Hydro merger) previous project leader moved to a different company

• DNV will produce the first WD and funding for this is in place

• Parts of meeting Tuesday next week will address this issue • Large overlap between the current proposal and ISO 20815• Uncertainty as to potentially having two documents with large overlap in the

ISO suit of documents guidance asked from SC 4 on this. Should a NWI be raised?

Materials issue in different documents

• Information as to the mandate for the WG and interfacing with existing groups that have material requirements in their documents was queried in the combined WG 6 and SC 17 meeting in Feb. 2007

• The 13628 series has material requirements in several documents and the hierarchy described is that substandard requirement s take priority if in conflict with 13628-1 “system”document.

Well integrity issues “well foundation”

• Several wells have been abandoned due to problems with well integrity (probable and confirmed fatigue problems)

• Revised drilling loads is worked by DNV to be updated in NORSOK U 001. These are planned to be proposed for amendment of 13628-1

• Reason for fatigue load inclusion is extended periods with rig on wells due to longer and more complex wells as well as increased intervention frequencies

• Result is an increasing deviation between surface and subsea equipment affected by these industry development

Factors affecting ”bending” of normally critical riser sections and affecting permanent equipment

• Seabed conditions (bending below above seabed) casing cementing, temperature gradients

• Riser and BOP/LMR sizes & weights

• Flex joints stiffness (top/bottom)

• Tension & Vessel position• Vessel RAO data & Station

keeping• Environmental conditions

Resent changes / extensions of earlier practices within the subsea sector of the industry

• Subsea processing being implemented & this has raised issues of what std’s and norms should be used for such systems/equipment?

• More frequent intervention on wells and “new” ways of intervening are maturing

• This put new requirements on permanent equipment to better facilitate such intervention

• Impact on the 13628 series of documents has to be reviewed • Safety authorities are focusing safety issues and he requirements

are different on the different continental shelves e. vessel requirements for well intervention vessels.

• Interfaces between the 13628 series and other WG’s and SC’sdocuments will increase in importance in the future as functionality increase in the subsea systems and intervention associated with these systems diversifies

Working Mode in the different groups• Some groups use teleconference and net

meetings with great success • Some issues are difficult to resolve without

working meetings where we discuss and resolve issues face to face (body language is said to be 80% of communication)

• More teleconference is expected to be used according to some of the of the project leaders.
