What is the Philippine Journal Citation Index Database(PJCID)?

Why measure citations? Because it is used as proxy for the overallimportance of a journal within a set of journals (possibly in the same field).Thomson Reuters and Scopus Citation Measures

◦ Thomson Reuters:: Impact Factor (IF) is the average number of citationsreceived per paper published in that journal during the two precedingyears.

◦ Scopus:: Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP) measurescontextual citation impact by weighting citations based on the totalnumber of citations in a subject field.
