X,Y,Z are in GP and X^a, Y^b and Z^c are equal, what is 1/a, 1/b and 1/c? Let us assume that X,Y and Z are 2,4,8. Let us assume X^a= Y^b= Z^c =64 Thus a= 6, b = 3 and c = 2. Let us put them as 1/6, 1/3, ½. Their values are : .1666, .3333 and .5,

thus this series in AP (there is fixed gap between two terms).


What is the sum of 1/sqrt(3), 1, 3/sqrt(3) . . .for 10 terms will be? This is GP, as we find that there is a

fixed ratio of sqrt(3) between any two terms.

Sum of GP = A(R^n-1) / (r-1) A =1/sqrt(3), R = sqrt(3) 1/(sqrt(3)) (sqrt(3)^10 -1)/(sqrt(3)-1) =.57735(243-1)/.73205 =190.85 answer.


If A is AM and G is GM of two positive unequal numbers, which is more? AM is always more than GM in case of

positive numbers. Thus A>G answer.


What is the sum of 1.03, 1.03^2, 1.03^3 … . . .series for 10 terms? This is GP. A = 1.03 and R = 1.03 Sum of GP = A(R^n-1) / (r-1) 1.03(1.03^10 -1)/(1.03-1) =1.03(.343916)/.03 =11.80778
