According to the Minister of Education, 520,000 admission spaces are available for over 1.7million candidates for UTME 2013. Only (189,1612) 10.90% of these candidates achieved at least a score of 200; therefore, the problem is not that of carrying capacity of our tertiary institutions but the amount of unprepared and unqualified applicants we have.Even if the capacity of our institutions are increased, are they going to be occupied by unqualified applicants? Clearly, urgent interventions are required by Parents, Governments and other concerned individuals to increase the knowledge capacity of future applicants starting with those presently in secondary schools.

Our problem is not the Carrying

Capacity of our Institutions, it is the Intellectual Capacity of our

Applicants!
