EDGE is a privately owned environmental consulting firm headquartered in Houston, Texas, with additional branch offices in Baton Rouge, Asheville and Denver. J SCOT VANN, P.E. | President and CEO | Houston, Texas
Mr. J Scot Vann, P.E., is President and CEO of Edge Engineering and Science, LLC (EDGE) and has been working as a consultant in the environmental engineering field since 1996. Scot drives EDGE’s growth and success via strategic organizational planning, coordination between practice areas, resource acquisition and allocation, and client satisfaction.
Throughout his career as a consultant, Scot has focused on excellence in air quality permitting and compliance services. His specialties include managing air permitting projects, compiling emissions estimates, auditing environmental compliance and management systems, facilitating emission credit banking and trading, conducting environmental compliance assessments, evaluating control technologies, developing and implementing environmental management information systems, performing regulatory analyses and applicability assessments, and conducting air dispersion modeling evaluations. Scot’s extensive experience includes serving clients, located throughout the U.S. and internationally, in the oil and gas, chemical, energy, electric utility, manufacturing, waste management and shipbuilding industries.
Scot holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station.
CHRISTOPHER J. COLVILLE, P.E. | Partner | Houston, Texas
Mr. Christopher J. Colville, P.E., is a Partner at Edge Engineering and Science, LLC (EDGE) and leads the Air Quality Services Practice.
Since 2000 when he joined the environmental field, Chris has consulted with both private- and public-sector clients to optimize air quality and multimedia regulatory permitting and compliance strategies. Chris specializes in managing air permitting projects, performing air quality dispersion modeling evaluations, conducting air quality research, managing optical remote sensing emission measurement studies and providing technical expertise in support of litigation.
Chris serves private-sector clients located throughout the U.S. in the oil and gas, chemical, manufacturing, aggregates and petroleum refining industries, as well as public-sector state regulatory agencies.
Chris holds a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station.
ANDREW GOLDBERG | Senior Environmental Professional | Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Mr. Andrew Goldberg is a Senior Environmental Professional at Edge Engineering and Science, LLC (EDGE) and the office manager of the Baton Rouge office.
With a diverse technical and project management background in environmental consulting, Andrew has provided services to a variety of petro-chemical, energy, industrial and manufacturing clients since 1985. Andrew specializes in the preparation of FERC environmental reports and compliance; air quality permitting and compliance; federal and state multi-media environmental permitting, compliance and reporting; expert witness and forensic air and water environmental investigations; and environmental field surveys and resource management. His expertise includes the FERC 7(c) permitting process and regulatory compliance, pre-project planning and route/site selection; pre-filing process, resource reports (ERs), data responses, site specific construction, compliance, and mitigation plans, implementation plans, environmental construction training, environmental inspection management and restoration oversight.
Andrew assists clients across the United States in the development, environmental permitting, construction and management of energy related projects, including oil and gas facilities, liquid and gas pipelines, gasification facilities, natural gas storage facilities and power plants.
Andrew holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science/ Management as well as a Bachelor of Science in General Studies/Physical Geography from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
GEORGE F. HOLDER II, P.E. | Senior Professional Engineer | Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Mr. George F. Holder II, P.E., is a Senior Professional Engineer at Edge Engineering and Science, LLC (EDGE).
Holder has more than 16 years in the environmental field, with a focus on air quality permitting and compliance. His specialties include NSR and Title V Permitting, NSPS and MACT Standards, Louisiana Air Quality Standards and Permitting, RMP, SARA and GHG Reporting. He has also managed multiple large capital permitting projects for both facility expansions and greenfield developments, and he has supervised environmental compliance for an operating unit of a major refinery and petrochemical complex.
George’s extensive experience includes work with clients across the United States in refining and petrochemical facilities, oil and gas facilities, utilities, direct-reduced iron facilities, wood product and pulp and paper facilities, fabrication and manufacturing facilities, sugar mills and refineries, and liquid and dry bulk terminals.
George holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Business Administration from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
