Senator Goolsby Statement on the Marriage Amendment
Raleigh, N.C. – The North Carolina Senate on Tuesday passed a measure that will put before voters a constitutional amendment defining marriage.
The amendment will go on the primary ballot in May of 2012.
Below is a statement from Senator Thom Goolsby (R-New Hanover).
“Our vote today will place this issue on the May ballot and allow the people of our state -- not some activist judge -- to define marriage. I completely trust my fellow North Carolinians to make the right decision.”
