Computer & Information SciencesWith a student-centered focus, all classes are relatively small in size and allow faculty members to provide individual guidance to all undergraduates. Innovation is a hallmark of the department, which offers a wide range of courses that include networking, artificial intelligence, ethics and security, computer graphics and image processing, and more! Our faculty are accomplished scholars who include their students in research activities – an opportunity that most other universities and research centers usually limited to graduate students.

Computer Science Major (B.S.)This major appeals to students who enjoy solving puzzles, inventing new ways of using computers, or exchanging theories about new ideas. Upon completing core courses, students follow the department’s general education track or specialize in one of two areas:• Advanced Computing• Software Development• General TrackComputer Information Systems Major (B.S.)The Computer Information Systems major is designed for students who want to make computers more efficient and productive, or to understand how computers can improve business operations. After completing a core of fundamental courses in Computer Information Systems, students can choose between two tracks:• System Development• Systems Management

Additional Study OptionsMaybe you have interests in another field, but you would like to acquire computer skills. Consider a minor in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Web Programming. With registering for one of these minors, you don't need to take two upper-level core courses, plus some courses within your major may count toward your minor! Thus, in some cases, you may need to take as few as 4-5 more courses to complete a minor!We also hosts two dual diploma programs with the Izmir University of Economics: one in Computer Engineering-Computer Science, and another one in Software Engineering-Computer Science.ScholarshipsThe Department bestows scholarships to support students with financial assistance and intellectual motivation. The John Beck Memorial Scholarship, the Arthur R. Maytum Scholarship and the Endowment Scholarship are among those offered.
