• With over 5100 members, the largest Bicycling Club on Meetup.

• Operates Bike Stns at vantage points. • Tie up with Hyderabad Metro to set up Bike

Stns at all upcoming Metro Stns in Hyderabad.• Working closely with Government agencies to

build cycling tracks.

• To transform India into most bicycle friendly country.

Mission • Change the mindset of people from bicycle

being referred to as poor man’s travel to preferred mode of travel.

• Improve infrastructure & facilities so that cycling is perceived as most safe and healthy & attracts lot of commuters.

Challenges• Indian cities are starved for space. Not easy to

find space for Bike Stns & Cycling Tracks.• Creation of Bike Stns & Cycling Tracks requires

large investments. • Involving Corporates in creating Bike Stns.• Working closely with Government agencies to

build Cycling Tracks.• Safety of cyclists.

Safety of cyclists• Barricading the Cycling Tracks.• Video surveillance of Tracks to check misuse. • Support from law enforcement agencies &

voluntary organisations.

State of Art Technology• India would like to go for best practices

incorporating State of Art Technology.• Bike Stns are manually operated mostly. • Plans to introduce card swipe system wherein

using a prepaid card the commuter can borrow and return the bike anywhere.

• This is particularly required in our Bike Stns at the upcoming Metro Stns.

Herculean efforts• HBC is acting as catalyst to promote cycling

aggressively in India.• Putting in herculean efforts to create enabling

infrastructure. • Having tasted success in Hyderabad, HBC is now

focussing on other cities in India.• With a more proactive Government in place, HBC

is confident of changing the commuting culture in India.

Future Plans • HBC hosting international event similar to

Tour de France in India in 2015.• Please join and make it a great success. • We aim at transforming India into a Cycling

Nation.• We would like to ensure that a million Indians

cycle to work in the next five years.
