DESCRIPTION

The 55,000 emails belonging to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton won't be released anytime soon. In court papers filed Monday night, government lawyers announced that the State Department intends to publicly release electronic communications on January 15, 2016.The announcement was made in connection with a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by VICE News last January, months before the controversy surrounding Clinton's use of private email to conduct business during her tenure as Secretary of State erupted. VICE News sought Clinton's emails and a wide range of other documents pertaining to her work as Secretary of State.
