Over Two Million Pieces of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Their Families To keep our community members safe from COVID-19, the State Council on Developmental Disabilities has been continuously advocating to get PPE to people with intellectual or developmental disability and their families. The Governor heard us!!! The Council worked with the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and received over two million masks and 3,600 gallons of hand sanitizer! The masks are being delivered this week. Maria Marquez, the Chair of the Council stated, “I am elated to know that the Council is now able to give necessary PPE to the families in need. I would like to thank the Governor and all the agencies and local partners that are working tirelessly during this public health crisis to keep our state safe. We will continue to work together to protect people with IDD and their families from COVID-19.” Each office has its own unique plan for how best to safely deliver these critical items to you. If you live in California and have an intellectual or developmental disability, email your SCDD Regional Office to request PPE. To keep our community members safe from COVID-19, the State Council on Developmental Disabilities has been continuously advocating to get PPE to people with intellectual or developmental disability and their families.

The Governor heard us!!!
