Slaughter Houses in Haryana.

2. All Member Secretary of the District Committee for Slaughter Houses in

Haryana.

Subject: Strict compliance of the duties defined as per Govt. of Haryana

notification.

Greetings,

Wish you a happy and prosperous new year, 2013 and let us work together to

serve the Nation dedicating our selves towards our fundamental duties as

defined in the Constitution of India.

As per Honble Supreme Court of Indias order, the Govt. of Haryana issued

notification constituting the State and District level Committees for Slaughter

Houses in Haryana.

Functions of the State Committee for Slaughter Houses:

1. To identify and prepare a list of all the Slaughter Houses (S.H.s) located within thelocal self Govt. (Municipal Corporations, Panchayats etc.)

2. To call for reports from the District Magistrate or the Dy. Commissioner and District FooSafety Inspector as the case may be on the condition/functioning of the S.H.s and also othe compliance of the relevant applicable laws.

3. To recommend modernization of old slaughter houses (S.H.s) and to relocate S.H.s whicare located within or in close proximity of a residential area.4. To recommend appropriate measures for dealing with solid waste, water / air pollution an

for preventing cruelty to the animals meant for slaughter.5. To carry out surprise & random inspections of S.H.s regularly and

issue directions for compliance of the recommendations that may be made by it.6. To send bi-annual reports on the state S.H.s to the Central Committee and to refe

issues that may require Central Committee recommendations or Central Govt. assistanc

7. To accord final approval for licensing of S.H.S to Local Self Govt.8. To identify on an ongoing basis, the unlicensed slaughter houses in the region, an

other unlicensed, unlawful establishments where animals are being slaughtered, ohowsoever a small scale, and take the help of the District Magistrate and other lawenforcement agencies to crack down on the same.

9. To check for child labour.

Like wise functions are also defined for the District Committee for Slaughter Houses, hence yoare advised to comply with the functions and duties, as defined in the above mentionenotification. You are further advised to prepare a list of illegal slaughter houses and crack dowtheir illegal activities, arrange District Committee for Slaughter Houses meeting with fortnight, strict compliance of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Slaughter Houses) Rule2001 and then send us a complete report for further necessary action at our end.It would be pertinent to mention here that the whole Nation will celeberate Animal WelfarFortnight January 14-31, 2013 and you are requested to arrange awareness programmes,

possible.
